Chapter 215: Chapter 215: Practical Exam (3)
[Third Person's PoV]
"You should have landed your attack!" Tony shouted provocatively, his voice echoing off the crumbling city walls. At his words, the glowing arc reactors embedded across his armor began to shimmer with changing hues, shifting from their usual calm blue to a flaring, almost menacing pink. The very atmosphere seemed to react as he raised his arm, palm pointed forward with authority.
This time, instead of generating raw repulsion energy, the reactor began to convert that energy into concentrated Gravitons—particles that bent gravity itself to his will.
In a blink, Tony released a massive repelling pulse in a circular blast from his palm. The sheer force shattered the street beneath his feet, sending asphalt and debris flying in all directions. Endeavor, caught within the radius, was flung backward with such immense speed that even the blazing trail of flames left in his wake was snuffed out mid-air like candles in a hurricane.
"Don't stand in my way," Tony warned coldly, turning his gaze to Bakugo. Then, without hesitation, he unleashed the same repelling force from the soles of his feet. His body became weightless, blasting into the sky like a missile, streaking toward Endeavor with terrifying speed.
Endeavor skidded across the broken pavement, his boots carving deep gouges into the concrete as he halted himself. He gritted his teeth, stepped forward, and crouched low. Flames ignited around his arms and legs as he prepared to meet Tony head-on.
Just as Tony closed the distance, Endeavor roared and swung his fist in a powerful upward arc. His fiery knuckles met Tony's metallic torso with a thundering impact. Tony, hand still outstretched toward Endeavor's face, resisted the force.
A massive shockwave exploded from the clash, shaking the city like a mini-earthquake. Buildings trembled. Glass windows shattered in a cascading ripple. Cobblestone crumbled. The street was nearly unrecognizable under the force of their power.
But from within the cloud of dust and fire, Tony burst forward—completely unscathed—carrying Endeavor by the head. His suit's vibranium-proto-adamantium alloy absorbed the brunt of the shockwave, rendering it ineffective. With a roar, Tony hurled Endeavor skyward like a ragdoll.
Endeavor twisted mid-air, regaining control with precision honed by years of battle. His feet ignited, and with a thunderous boom, he launched himself back toward Tony in a blaze of blistering heat. His entire form was wrapped in a cloak of hellfire, his determination as fierce as his flames.
The reactor on Tony's chest shifted again, the glow transforming into a deep violet hue. Gravity twisted around him. The gravitons were no longer repelled—they were now being attracted. His movements grew heavier, his strikes deadlier.
Tony's fist, pulsing with a gravity-enhanced glow, pulled Endeavor toward him like a magnet. Just before their blows connected, Endeavor grabbed Tony's palm with both hands, and with a burst of flames, spun them violently into a whirling vortex of red, purple, and silver light—a chaotic dance of fire and technology.
With a mighty shout, Endeavor flung Tony with all his might toward a looming skyscraper.
Tony abruptly stopped as if all the momentum wasn't present, cracking the glass with a thunderous shatter. Shards rained down like lime-colored diamonds under the morning sun.
"DON'T THINK YOU CAN ALL FORGET ABOUT ME LIKE I'M SOME EXTRA!!" Bakugo roared from below, spinning into the fray like a comet wrapped in explosive fury.
He appeared behind Endeavor, prepared to strike. But Endeavor, despite the chaos, moved like a true Pro Hero—fluid, precise, and brutal. A burst of flame launched him upward, narrowly evading Bakugo's attack. In a single motion, Endeavor somersaulted mid-air, tucked his knees, and delivered a devastating kick straight into Bakugo's spine.
The blow sent Bakugo crashing down like a meteor. Still, his sharp instincts kicked in. He twisted mid-fall, extended his hand, and unleashed an explosive counter-force to slow his descent. It wasn't enough to escape unscathed, but it kept him conscious—barely.
Tony saw his chance. He zipped forward, suddenly appearing in front of Endeavor. His palms came together in a mock-clapping motion as a wide grin stretched across his face. "Think fast!"
The reactors flared a brilliant electric blue, pulsing with raw energy. Tony unleashed a massive wave of repulsion directly into Endeavor's chest. The hero was sent spiraling through the sky, arms crossed in defense, before slamming into another towering skyscraper. The building groaned from the force, then started to tilt, collapsing under its own weight.
Dust billowed out like a storm cloud, the structure leaning precariously forward.
Tony's palm crackled with electricity, arcs of blue lightning dancing between his fingertips. His reactor throbbed as he switched to electromagnetic mode. With a yell that rang through the city, he extended his arm and caught the building in mid-collapse.
"I KNOW YOUR FIRE BURNS HOTTER THAN THAT, PRO HERO!" Tony bellowed. "SHOW ME YOUR TRUE POWER!!"
With a surge of effort, he redirected the falling skyscraper and sent it crashing down toward Endeavor, who stood at ground zero, eyes wide, arms raised in shock.
The building hit like a hammer from the gods. But just before impact, a nuclear plume of fire exploded upward. Rubble shattered. A firestorm erupted into the sky, scorching clouds and setting the air ablaze. The building disintegrated in the blast, fragments blown in every direction.
When the smoke cleared, Endeavor stood bloodied but burning, fire curling around his shoulders and arms. Blood dripped from his brow—but it was instantly vaporized by the heat radiating off his skin.
Tony burst into wild laughter. "That's it, Endeavor! That's the heat I was looking for!"
He blasted forward like a jet, laughing as he went. "Let's up the stakes!! You're not the only one who can control fire!"
As he flew, the reactors around him turned from violet to an intense, brilliant red-orange. Thermal energy surged through his suit, and fire gathered within his repulsors.
He thrust both palms forward.
Two concentrated streams of flame erupted, merging into one massive beam—a fireblast so focused it resembled a laser. It roared through the air, burning white-hot as it streaked toward Endeavor.
Endeavor, seeing the oncoming blast, acted with the precision and speed of a seasoned warrior. His fist ignited into a torrent of searing fire, and with a thunderous roar, he hurled forward his own concentrated beam of thermal energy.
The two beams screamed through the air like twin comets on a collision course. When they finally met in the center of the battlefield, the opposing forces didn't cancel each other out—instead, they fused into a violently spinning core of energy, pulsating with volatile power. The air trembled as the mass swelled, expanding with each second as both men poured more and more power into it.
"Let's make this a real contest, Endeavor!" Tony shouted, the edge of battle-fueled exhilaration thick in his voice. Sparks and static danced around his suit as the reactors overloaded. His eyes gleamed with a mad brilliance, a hybrid of scientific curiosity and the joy of competition. "A battle between pure power and innovation—between Quirk and technology!" His voice dipped into a low whisper, almost reverent, as if he were on the verge of unlocking the secrets of the universe. "Let's set this world on fire…"
Then, in a crescendo that cracked the skies, he shouted, "And see who comes out screaming first!"
The energy sphere at the heart of their clash could no longer contain the fury within. With a sound like the heavens tearing apart, it exploded outward in a blinding detonation. A shockwave of unbearable heat and fire erupted, a dome of destruction racing in all directions. Flames spiraled skyward, licking at the clouds, and the street below liquefied under the sheer intensity of the blast. Buildings nearby warped and collapsed as their frames melted and buckled from the inferno.
Caught on the outer edge of the destruction, Bakugo acted on instinct alone. Despite his battered body, his survival instincts took over. With a pained snarl, he blasted himself high into the sky, propelling his smoking form away from the epicenter with every ounce of explosive force he could muster.
Even Endeavor—powerful as he was—couldn't remain in the center. The tidal wave of heat and pressure was enough to humble even the No. 1 Hero. Gritting his teeth, he launched himself away from the epicenter with a blast of fire from his boots, narrowly dodging the molten ground and collapsing structures that followed in the explosion's wake. The force of the blast had turned the street into a river of lava, dust and debris swirling through the air like an apocalyptic snowstorm.
But in the heart of the maelstrom stood Tony Stark.
He didn't run. He didn't dodge.
He let the inferno swallow him whole.
His suit glowed white-hot, absorbing the heat like a solar battery pushed to its limits. Vibranium-proto-adamantium alloy shimmered like a dying star, and the core of his chest reactor spun with frenetic energy, stabilizing the temperature within. Within the burning chaos, Tony stood defiant—a man who had built a furnace to survive the fire.
