Peter came behind Pepper and gently embraced her, "I don't want to say anything. I just want to give you a shoulder to lean on and help you relax."
"Thank you, Jaxon."
The two shared a brief moment of tenderness before Pepper pulled away, "I have to get back to work."
"Wait, I have another gift for you."
Though Pepper felt a flicker of excitement, her exhaustion kept her from fully expressing it, "Thank you, Jaxon."
Jaxon took out a vial containing the water of life, "This is the water of life. It can prolong your life, delay aging, make you look younger, and relieve fatigue."
Pepper looked at him, a bit surprised, "Are you sure this isn't some kind of dangerous, experimental thing?"
"This is something I obtained from the system. It's not some hallucinogenic substance, I promise." That's right Pepper also knows about the system.
Under Jaxon's gentle persuasion, Pepper took a drop of the water of life.
Instantly, she felt rejuvenated, as if her entire body had been moisturized, with all traces of fatigue melting away.
"This feels incredible, Jaxon." She said, her voice full of awe.
"You'll feel even better soon."
They shared another moment of connection before Pepper, now feeling more energized, thought about her responsibilities again.
"Jaxon, I really need to get back to work."
"I'll stay with you for a bit." Jaxon said, unwilling to leave.
Unable to persuade him otherwise, Pepper allowed Jaxon to stay while she worked.

Meanwhile, Gwen was at home, just like any other evening. Though she had recently gained superpowers and the symbiote suit, she hadn't had the opportunity to fully test them.
Tonight, her father, George, was also at home.
Suddenly, George received a call, "What? A tall green monster appeared on the bridge? Like a lizard man?"
Since George's house wasn't far from the bridge, he immediately sprang into action.
"Helen, I have to go out." George said as he prepared to leave.
"Be safe." His wife replied.
Gwen's heart raced with excitement upon hearing the news. She knew this was her chance to act.
She quickly excused herself, "Mom, I'm heading back to my room. I might go to bed early tonight."
"Okay." Her mother said.
Once inside her room, Gwen locked the door and immediately called Jaxon.
"Jaxon, a lizard-like monster has been spotted on the bridge. My dad's on his way there, and now it's my turn to act."
After hanging up, the symbiote suit enveloped Gwen's body, and she climbed out of the window. Swinging through the city with her webs, she moved faster than her father, who was driving.
Jaxon, who was still at Pepper's house, froze momentarily when he received the call.
'Lizard has shown up, but it seems he appeared earlier than expected. Peter's probably still working on his suit.'
'Forget it. I'll head over and see if I can help Gwen capture Lizard.'
"Pepper, I have to go. Something urgent came up."
Pepper didn't ask any questions, simply kissed Jaxon goodbye, "Be safe."
"I'll be back tonight." Jaxon promised as he left swiftly.
In the blink of an eye, Jaxon disappeared from Pepper's apartment and appeared on the bridge, where chaos had already broken out.
Dr. Connors had fully transformed into a humanoid lizard and was causing havoc on the bridge in his quest to stop Norman's assistant, Nels, from taking everything from the laboratory.
Cars were overturned, people were fleeing, and Lizard began throwing vehicles into the river in his madness.
Jaxon knew he couldn't wait for Gwen and quickly sprang into action, using the symbiote's webbing to catch the falling vehicles.
Professor Lizard noticed Jaxon but, in his near-crazed state, didn't care. He continued chasing Nels.
Jaxon saved several people just as Gwen arrived at the scene, swinging confidently on her webs.
"I'm here. What do you need me to do?" Gwen asked, eager to help.
"Focus on saving people, then stop that lizard monster." Jaxon instructed, believing in her abilities.
While Gwen engaged with Lizard, Jaxon continued rescuing bystanders. Despite her bravery, Gwen quickly realized that Professor Lizard, with his larger size and superior strength, was too powerful to defeat head-on. She needed to use her wits.
As Jaxon handled crowd control, George arrived on the scene with his team of law enforcement officers.
"What on earth is going on here?" George muttered, watching the battle unfold.
Seeing Black Spiderman blocking their path, George mistakenly assumed he was part of the problem.
"Put your hands up, you're surrounded!" George ordered.
Jaxon remained calm, "Captain George, you can't handle this monster. It's beyond your capability."
Despite Jaxon saving his daughter Gwen in the past, George wasn't convinced, "This is our responsibility, and we'll deal with it."
"I'm telling you, bullets won't work on me or on that creature." Jaxon explained, his tone measured.
But George wasn't convinced until he fired at Jaxon, emptying his magazine, only for the bullets to have no effect.
At that moment, Gwen's voice cried out from the battle.
"Help!"
Jaxon turned to see Lizard throwing cars into the river, with passengers still inside.
Without a second's hesitation, Jaxon teleported to the bridge's edge, using the symbiote to catch three of the cars, while Gwen grabbed the remaining two.
"It would be easier if they could just fly." Jaxon mused as they worked together to rescue the vehicles and the people inside.
Though they succeeded, Gwen was clearly shaken by the close call.
After the crowd was safe, George and his men attempted to surround Jaxon and Gwen again, but Jaxon teleported them both to Gwen's room before they could act.
As they reappeared in Gwen's bedroom, the symbiote suits reverted to a bracelet on their wrist, and they returned to their normal self. While this was happening, the Lizard ran away.
But despite their success, Gwen's mood remained dark. Hugging Jaxon tightly, she couldn't shake the feeling that she had failed to stop the Lizard.
"I'm sorry I didn't catch him and let him get away."
"And I didn't realize that the symbiote suit could capture multiple targets. In fact, I could have saved them without bothering you."
"If I hadn't asked you to help, you should have been able to catch him."
"You said I was destined to be a superhero, but I blew this operation."
Jaxon patted Gwen on the back and said, "It's okay. You've done a good job. I believe you'll do even better in the future."
"Even superheroes who have gone through a lot can't always solve every problem in one go."
"They encounter new enemies, unexpected situations, and challenges that are beyond their capabilities."
"You made the right judgment. When you realized you couldn't save everyone, you called for help."
"Besides, defeating the monsters isn't the only mission. We have to save people and find the root of the problem."
Gwen felt a bit better, "Thank you for comforting me, Jaxon."
The two were chatting in the house when Gwen's mother, Helen, passed by and heard some noises.
"Gwen, is someone in your room? I thought I heard you talking to someone."
Gwen, a little flustered, immediately came up with an excuse, "Jaxon and I were just on the phone."
"I'm sorry to bother you, carry on."
Gwen sighed in relief after her mother left.
"Jaxon, can you stay?"
"I can stay with you for a little while. Your father will be back soon, and I don't want him to see me here."
"It will only take a moment. Thank you, Jaxon."
---
Jaxon left early to meet with Pepper.
When he returned to Pepper's apartment, he found her asleep at the table.
It was clear that, ever since becoming CEO, Pepper's workaholic tendencies had fully kicked in, and she had been working nonstop.
Jaxon wouldn't stop Pepper from living the life she wanted, but he also reminded her to take care of herself.
When Pepper woke up, she was startled to find Jaxon right beside her.
"Jaxon, why are you here?"
"I told you I'd be back, but I didn't expect you to fall asleep at the table."
Pepper could imagine what Jaxon had done—he had probably made sure she was comfortable and then stayed nearby.
"Thank you, Jaxon."
"Maybe you could express your gratitude in another way."
"We probably have a little over half an hour, is that enough time for you?"
"I wish I could lock Tony up somewhere and give you a vacation."
Pepper chuckled, "Don't do that. If you take him away, I'll only be busier."
After resting for a bit, the two got back to their respective tasks. Pepper had more work to do, and Jaxon had to clean up and prepare for school.
Aside from his responsibilities at school today, there was a more important task: dealing with Professor Lizard.
When he arrived at school, Peter was already there, waiting.
Peter already knew about the Lizard's appearance last night.
"Jaxon, I need to talk to you about something."
Jaxon didn't refuse. They found a secluded spot and started their conversation.
"You and Gwen faced the Lizardlast night?"
"Yes, it was me and Gwen."
"I heard he escaped. Is there anything I can do to help? I haven't finished making the suit yet, but I can still help."
Seeing Peter's determined expression, Jaxon knew Peter was ready to become a superhero.
"Yes, there is."
"What is it?"
"Go to Osborne Building, to Professor Connors' lab, and report him."
Peter immediately understood what Jaxon meant.
"You think the Lizard iProfessor Connors?"
Professor Connors had been researching genetic drugs, specifically using lizard genes to treat amputated limbs. The study had shown promise, with successful results in lab mice. However, they weren't yet ready for human trials.
"I'll take the day off and go to Osborne."
"If it really is Professor Connors, I'll try to reason with him and stop him from making more mistakes."
Peter skipped class and rushed to the Osborne Building. When he arrived at Professor Connors' lab, it was empty.
Peter waited, but Professor Connors never showed. However, Peter did make an important discovery.
"There are records showing more genetic drugs were made last night and earlier today."
Peter grew concerned. Why was Professor Connors doing this?
"Did the genetic drug have unforeseen side effects? Why did he inject himself? Was it because of his missing arm?"
Peter turned to examine the lab mice, only to find that the container holding them had been destroyed, and the two experimental mice were missing.
Suddenly, Peter heard a faint sound. He followed the noise and found that the mouse injected with the genetic drug had mutated. The other ordinary lab mouses had been devoured.
Peter now understood—the Lizard from last night must have been Professor Connors.
Without hesitation, Peter quickly dealt with the mutant mouse to prevent it from escaping and called the authorities.
"I'd like to report something. I have clues about the Lizard Man from last night."
Peter wasn't sure how things had escalated like this, but his priority now was stopping Professor Connors.
Captain George received the report and rushed to the Osborne Building with his team. The staff at Osborne were confused as they were surrounded by police.
Nels, one of the senior staff members, tried to stop them, "You have no right to search the building."
"We have every right." Captain George responded, "We received a report that the Lizard is connected to your company."
"Impossible. Who made that report?"
Peter stepped forward, "I did. I'm Professor Connors' assistant. We've been working on gene therapy drugs using lizard DNA to regenerate limbs."
"We've already tested on lab mice. But after what happened last night, I wanted to confront Professor Connors about the Lizard Man. Before I could find him, I discovered that the lab mice injected with the gene had mutated."
George nodded, "So you're saying he injected himself with an unfinished drug and became the Lizard?"
"That's what I think happened."
George immediately ordered, "Seal off the lab."
Nels tried to protest, but there wasn't much he could do. At least they had backups of the research.
Peter added, "Professor Connors made several batches of the drug earlier today. He might inject himself again, which could make him stronger and more unstable."
George, confident in his team's ability, replied, "We know what we're doing, kid."
Peter wasn't deterred, "Maybe I can create an antidote to help him return to normal. I believe he's still a good person deep down."
George grew impatient, "Kid, do you know what he did last night? He caused major damage and nearly killed people. He's not the man you knew anymore—he's more like a lizard."
George led his team to search Connors' villa, while Nels informed Norman Osborn of the situation.
Meanwhile, Peter called Jaxon, "You were right. The Lizard Man is Professor Connors, and the genetic drugs he made are missing."
"I'm going to try making an antidote, but I can't get back into the lab."
Jaxon understood Peter's resolve to save everyone, even villains. He offered some advice, "Don't rush. We still have some time. Let's plan our next move together."
---
In the city's underground, Connors, now completely deranged, prepared to inject himself with more genetic drugs.
"No one can stop me. I am the future, and I will help humanity evolve!"
---
Connors had completely lost his mind and was planning to turn everyone in the city into lizard people. To achieve this, he decided to use a device at Osborne Building capable of spreading the drug throughout the city.
With this plan in mind, Connors began making more of the genetic drug and prepared to inject himself again.
---
Meanwhile, Jaxon, Gwen, and Peter were at a coffee shop, discussing how to handle the situation.
Jaxon, already knowing how the events would unfold, had a plan in mind.
