Chapter 295: Breakthrough
Eryndor hadn't realised how difficult it was to fight someone at a higher stage.
He had already buried the body after 'borrowing' everything on the disciple, whose name he came to know was Jaxen.
Currently, he was leaning against a tree far away from the are where they fought, his Passive Regeneration working continuously to heal his injured body.
He could feel his Energy of Consciousness siphoning away without halting.
Probably because his Passive Regeneration wasn't yet at a very high level, his wounds were recovering slowly.
This will take hours.
Eryndor glanced at the speed at which his injuries were healing and estimated the time.
Keeping his injured hands by his side, he was using Telekinesis to go through the loot he found on Jaxen when he felt something.
His brows furrowed as he immediately took cover, and entered the Mind Palace.
Yes, he wasn't wrong. He could definitely feel it even more distinctly now.
He restrained his impatience and entered the large hall of the Mind Palace, his eyes reflecting the orb of Telekinesis.
It was large.
Larger than the other two orbs.
And it was rotating.
Rotating wildly.
What did that mean?
It's breaking through, finally.
Eryndor thought, his hands clenched by his side.
I must have missed the phase where it starts enlarging and begins rotating slowly.
No matter, it's a good thing anyway.
His eyes were trained on the black orb which kept rotating at an increasing speed even at this juncture, while its size was fixed.
After a certain amount of time, the orb began shining.
It has really begun.
The intensity kept rising every second.
It began to glow blindingly bright after a minute or so.
At some point, Eryndor was forced to close his eyes as always due to the increasing intensity of brightness.
He had tried. He certainly did try to keep his eyes open to witness the complete process.
However it began hurting. He still went on.
It hurt so much that tears began leaking down his face.
Was it even his real physical body which entered? Or something similar to a soul?
He didn't know, but he feared that his body, particularly his eyes, might be inflicted with irreparable harm if he kept going. So he had to close his eyes.
Eryndor didn't have to wait for long, as the brightness soon subsided, and he felt it through his closed eyes as well.
He opened them slowly, and was greeted by a now normal black orb above the altar of Telekinesis.
Its size had reverted to its original one, and the rotating had stopped.
However, just like the last time, the rank of his ability had changed.
[Telekinesis - Enhanced]
He subconsciously let out a sigh of relief as he gazed upon those words.
Only now did his attention flicker over to the other two orbs, with the resetted black orb of Telekinesis for comparison.
My Passive Regeneration seems to have grown a bit.
Unexpectedly, his Cognitive Scrying had grown vastly more in comparison despite being at a higher level, which should've meant its progress should be slower than Passive Regeneration which was at Stable realm.
Good surprise.
Once he had finished relishing in the improvement of his abilities, Eryndor took a mandatory round around the Mind Palace and took his leave.
Once in his physical body, Eryndor continued going through the items of Jaxen using Telekinesis while letting his body recover.
Oh yea, I am pretty injured right now, but I was entirely unharmed while in the Mind Palace just now. Does that mean I can cross out the fact that it's definitely not my physical body which enters?
Hmm.
After he was done classifying his spoils, he buried the badge at least ten feet underground and marked the place on a map he bought from the counter.
He didn't plan to take the badge with him.
What if it has location sensing capability which was simply hidden from the disciples?
For this reason, he also left behind his own badge in the transport treasure.
After all, if there was indeed something like a location sensor in the badges, it would be obviously suspicious for his own badge to be near Jaxen's badge for a while since Jaxen would go 'missing' soon.
He didn't intend to use badges of these disciples, just the loot on them.
Birds died for good, and humans died for wealth.
Well, I have no intention of dying though.
The Training Camp might ignore it if someone was using the badges to access the rooms of disciples they killed, but if the killer in question was suspected of engaging in evil practices, then they would intervene for sure.
While waiting for his body to recover, he wasn't idle.
Eryndor kept using Telekinesis and practiced with various objects including his own dagger, and activated Cognitive Scrying on anyone who entered.
After seeing the breakthrough of Telekinesis, he seemed to have become even more proactive in using his abilities in any way possible.
After getting healed till an acceptable level, he had already begun moving towards his transport treasure.
He walked slowly, and took detours as soon as he spotted someone, be it a disciple or a beast, in his Spatial Sight, and finally reached the place.
He deposited the majority of the loot into the cargo compartment of the transport treasure, and reactivated the concealment array formation through the plate.
He only kept Qi Gathering pills and the Pure Qi pills on him in case he felt like cultivating to take a break from killing.
Eryndor took his badge with him this time, but used his Telekinesis to control it from a considerable distance away from him.
He intended to show that his badge was indeed moving around, but had not encountered the disciple who would soon go 'missing'.
A few hours later, when his injuries had completely healed, Eryndor finally encountered another lone disciple.
The disciple was on the winning side as he dominated the fight with a beast.
Time to give him a surprise.
