Chapter 28: Refine and Return
My entire body was engulfed by intense heat the moment I opened the old wooden door.
The heat was getting even more intense as I walked further beyond the door.
I found a small dwarf in the heart of the smithy, located in the smithy street, west gate area of Asparagan, a small smithy that can only be found after making five large and small left and right turns on that cobweb-like alley.
A short head, a round nose, rough hands, small black eyes, he was indeed a dwarf.
I held out my hands towards him to show the Seal of the Sworder.
Then he raised the giant magnifying glass he was wearing over one eye, looked at my hand with a frowning face.
“Never seen you around here before. Welcome, anyways. You managed to get here pretty well. Usually, the newcomers will lose their direction in that little alley there.”
The dwarf who was speaking quickly, put down his magnifying glasses and started to observe the heated red iron in front of him.
“I came here to repair my armor.”
This smithy was in a contract with the Aspragan Sanctuary. I was told by my master to come to this place.
I did not even expect that I would find this place immediately as I wandered through this alley that became mossy from all the steam from molten iron.
“Let me take a look.”
He jumped from a chair higher than his height, as he gave me sudden attention.
I opened up my inventory to pull out my set of armors that were ripped to pieces by the scales of Garnas at the dwarf’s distracting movement.
He caressed his beard on his chin with his tiny hand and looked at the armor with interest.
“Ah, I heard that a person with the blessing of immortality joined the Asparagan Sanctuary, and that must’ve been you, huh?”
Then he started to stare at me as he knocked on my ankle like he was knocking on a door.
“Among the blacksmiths, there is a lot of fuss about the ‘space of another dimension' used by the immortals, also called the ‘Players’. After all, if the secret of the storage space that transcends the rationality of this world is to be revealed, the world will be turned upside down.”
He started to spit out complaints about the inventory, which was a system of this game.
“Let’s see…”
The dwarf, who stopped talking to himself, skillfully jumped up using the clutters on the floor as scaffolding, and grabbed the cigarette holder on the table higher than himself.
The dwarf with a pipe in his mouth began to look intently at the armor I had laid down on the floor.
“This set of armor, y’see.”
“Yes…”
“It looks pretty, but it ain’t look like it can protect its wearer at all.”
“What?”
The little dwarf said as he breathed out the smoke out of his mouth.
“I’m sayin’ that this armor doesn't do its job. It’s utter garbage. This is just a pretty piece of trash a noble would put inside a glass for display.”
“Ah…”
“Don’t tell me you’ve been fighting in battles wearing this.”
“Well…”
He breathed the smoke out again and started to carefully observe the chest plate of the armor with his glasses.
“Gold decorations, and jewel dust on top of a very thin steel sheet, what a mess. “
The lamenting dwarf looked at me and back at the armor with an esoteric expression and chuckled.
However, I didn’t feel any remorse while listening to his assessment of the armor.
The amount of money I paid for the armor was uncomfortable only for Lee KiHo, I was able to get a rare class thanks to this armor.
Anyway, this armor did its job as camouflage to hide my face as I intended, gave me access to a rare class, and even satisfied the dreams of armor that I had in the game to a certain extent.
“I mean, I can repair it if you want.”
“…Please do.”
That was why I couldn’t just watch the armor stay broken.
“Well, alrighty. Go take a breath somewhere, it won’t take that long.”
I bowed my head to him and left the smithy.
Jumping out of the scorching heat for a moment, I felt goosebumps all over my body in the cool alleyway.
After I left and had some time to spare, I sat down on the stairs attached to the shade in the alley.
“Status screen.”
It was a good opportunity to check how I was doing, which I hardly checked because I was too busy so far.
It was because there was never any time to check the in-game system with what happened in the luxurious airship I rode on my way to Langeru, the veterans I met after that, and the battle against the living disaster that followed right after.

My stats and levels were far higher than before.
The amount of experience or level increase was incomparable to that of Mose when he was low level, who had slime hunting as his main job.
And the fame that was already increasing at a terrifying rate, I just wasn’t getting notifications of it.
I was already sure of it without having to confirm that this was a result of the incidents that I forced through which made other players notice me.
I still wasn’t sure if this was going to be an advantage or disadvantage for me.
If it turned out to be advantageous, then I can just compliment my eagerness, but I could already imagine myself pulling my hair out in remorse if it turned out to be disadvantageous.
However, there was no real meaning to be worried about that now.

I was immersed in my thoughts as I was reminiscing about the old days while watching the letters and numbers written on my status screen.
I was wondering about what would have happened, if I had sold the Star of Polorun and quit the game when I was living in a cheap Linduroak inn, or if I had turned the rest of the in-game currency into cash and quit the game without any regrets. These questions ran through my head.
If I had been to the square a little later, if I had drunk another bottle of alcohol and the lead block that contained the rare item I bought had been passed on to someone else, indeed, an indescribable sensation came up for the miracle that this strange luck accomplished.
“Inventory.”
As soon as I saw the shining golden item that occupied the six spaces in the far corner of the inventory window that appeared carefully in front of my eyes, I had goosebumps all over my body once again.
This was a legendary class item.
There’s a website named ‘Circuit Wiki’ which was organized by the Circuit community.
This website was created by the Players in-game that have the class called ‘Scholar’, and many people use the information posted on this wiki.
During my time of being tortured under the guise of training by my master, while my real self became increasingly exhausted, I had searched this wiki for item classes while collecting information about the world of <Circuit>.
At that time, based on the information found from books and such found in the game, the concept of item classes was established up to the rare class so I’d say it was quite clearly established.
Obviously, nothing about the unique and legendary class items wasn’t even posted on the wiki.
Nowadays, little hints about the unique and legendary items were listed, and these little hints held one common point.
It was that the unique and legendary items were items used by the ‘people in the past’ of this game.
The stats of the legendary armor I had were far beyond that of my level, even at an estimate.
I carefully pulled out a greatsword named ‘Attoria’s Stigma’ from my inventory.
The moment I grabbed the hilt of the sword, heated energy started to spread all over my body from my palm.
The heat pulled the muscles all over my body tight together. The reason why my body felt as if it was filled with hard stones must have been because the stats of this greatsword has been applied to me.
I carefully got up from my seat and wielded the sword.
The golden body of the sword was shining bright even in the shades of this alleyway.
In contrast to this, the silver double-edged blades that this sword had did not shine, but only showed off its sharpness in a blunt manner.
A slight swipe with the sword made a sound ripping through the wind as if it was knocking directly into one’s eardrums.
And at the same time,
I felt a sudden itch inside my head.
The heat radiating from the sword quickly reached my head and enveloped it, and I could even feel a headache at the end of this mysterious sensation.
And a moment later, words appeared in front of my eyes.
< Acquired Passive: Attoria’s Swordsmanship! >
And my headache also disappeared.
But it felt like the headache had left some things inside my head.
And I swung the sword I had in my hand.
And I realized at that very moment.
“Did it always feel like this?”
I whispered to myself without noticing in surprise.
I started to wield the blade in a way that I’ve never learned from my master, and it felt as if I was born with this memory engraved into my brain.
Crimson sparks appeared around the sword, which was swung magnificently by drawing a large line of movement on the shoulder and bouncing in all directions.
My entire body was drenched in ecstasy caused by the fact that I earned my first skill and I was able to use it naturally.
I couldn’t explain how great it felt.
I swung my sword here and there with posture that came out carefully and naturally in a dark alleyway. Meanwhile, I heard the sound of a door opening from behind me.
“There you are! I’ve finished repairing your armor. Were you exercising?”
I instinctively hid the sword behind me at the dwarf calling me as I stared at him. Then I received the completely repaired set of armor from him.
“Thank you.”
“Ah right, I haven’t told you my name yet. The name’s ‘Bidrock’. Bidrock the Small Rockfist.”
The dwarves had some very unique names. However, I couldn’t help but to bow my head at his warm smile.
“My name is Mose. Thank you, Bidrock the Small Rockfist!”
Bidrock even waved his hand, escorting me all the way to the end of the alleyway to say farewell to me.
I couldn’t even dare to think about wearing the armor since I’m going to be walking through a huge crowd again, so I headed to the main plaza without wearing my armor.
I had to buy something before I returned to the Sanctuary.
This was something I wanted to buy from before but forgot about.
Right, this was time for me to purchase the ‘means of communication’ which I was thinking about for a long time.
Because I remembered about the Players that went to the raid with me for the first time.
I loved the fantastic relationship with the NPCs in this world, but it wouldn’t hurt to make a friend that is a Player as well.
So I went to the plaza to stop by the magic store. I ran into so many people’s shoulders on my way here.
And I was able to purchase a means of communication suggested by the nice NPC there.
“There’s a ‘red-shell sound insect’ inside the crystal ball so the amplification is beyond imagination! This is the newest version from the ‘Lianetti’ brand!”
I couldn’t help but to buy the product after hearing something like this.
[ Lianetti Red ]
Class: Magical Communication Device
Subject: Red-shell sound insect
Crystal ball: 2 amplifying crystal
A mana crystal that can communicate with the 16 cities that reside in the Continent of Asparagan.
History: It is the newest version of the Lianetti brand made with the Red-shell sound insect during its breeding season which is known to be the most sensitive out of all the sound insects. It is the best product that adds sensual sophistication by fixing a pretty chitinous shell in the center of the crystal ball.
– Ceo of Lianetti, Radai the Pretty Hand
So I grabbed the magic crystal ball and said things which the NPC told me to say as I left the Asparagan plaza.
“Can you hear the sound of my heart, the hand connected to my heart is grabbing you.”
And a bright light appeared from the crystal ball.
“My name is Mose. It is Mose.”
The crystal ball started to shine bright in red right after I whispered to it.
And a minute later,
< Registration complete. >
I heard a shaky alarm noise from the inside of the crystal ball.
I have finished everything I needed to in Asparagan.
I threw the portal crystal on the floor as I left the plaza.
“To Asparagan Sanctuary!”
I threw my body into the portal gate that appeared soon after.
