Hunter x Hunter - Unlimited Abilities

Chapter 31: Hunting The Hunters - The Next Plan - Chapter 31

Three days passed in battles in the arena.

Arin fought over ten opponents in the span.

None were Nen users, so the battles were not that hard at all.

For someone like him, the fights were practice sessions more than challenges.

Fights one through ten ended with clean cuts to the chest, sweeps to unbalance, and a final tap or collapse.

No injuries for himself.

He stood at level 120‑something now, well into the hundreds.

That morning, after his tenth victory, he walked out of the arena and headed straight to his favorite coffee shop.

He pulled out his new phone, a basic model, but with mobile banking. He logged in.

10,230,000 Jenny glowed on the screen.

A soft smile curved his lips.

He tapped the screen and watched himself scroll through the figures:

He said quietly to himself,

"This is just the start. Each win in the 150s gets me ten million. In the 190s? I can earn as much as two hundred million. If I push… in a month I can get one to two billion."

He paused, tapping his finger against the cup.

"That kind of money can build something real. Real estate,"

He closed his eyes again and allowed himself a small daydream.

"With time, the money will not be a problem anymore."

Then his thoughts drifted back to Nen Points.

He opened the side panel of his aura vision, and "Nen Points – 17.0" glowed softly.

"Seventeen," he whispered.

"Three points to go. In one to two weeks I'll reach twenty… and with that, I can finally create 'Black and White Master of Life.'"

His smile deepened. "It's coming."

The waiter placed the latte down quietly, and Arin nodded thanks.

He took a slow sip and nodded.

He thought about the fights ahead.

To earn a billion, he'd need dozens of wins in the 150–190 floors.

But he couldn't get stuck there forever.

He needed a plan to leave the hundreds on his terms, not the arena's.

He set a soft goal: once every ten fights at this level, he'd lose one intentionally.

Enough to drop back into the high hundreds, keeping earnings high but avoiding automatic escalations.

He jotted down another line in his notebook:

"Lose Smart: 1/10 fights. Maintain floor access without escalations."

Another note followed:

"Focus on 17 → 20 Nen Points over two weeks."

He tapped the new lines with satisfaction.

He stood and finished his coffee.

That afternoon, he visited a local pawn dealer, a quiet, discreet shop that handled everything from antique watches to rare coins.

He didn't spend long.

He examined a small silver gauntlet covered in faded aura carvings but decided to hold off for his future tools; he needed custom work.

"After I have more money, I can use this ability to find valuable items and sell them."

"Just like Gon and Killua did while they were in Yorknew City for the auction."

By the time he returned to his room, evening was settling in.

He cracked open a bottle of water and stared at the ceiling, listening to his aura pulse in the quiet room.

Tomorrow is fight number eleven, in the high 120s.

He had already plotted what he would do.

His Nen Points of 17.0 were nearing the threshold.

In the morning in the arena, he would push hard.

By the time he hit twenty, he wanted everything aligned: income streams, aura mastery, and tactical awareness.

He lay on the bed, notebook safe under his pillow. After a long breath, he whispered:

"As I have my Nen ability, my power will increase many times."

"From now on then, if I want to earn more 'Nen Points,' I will be needing to complete harder missions and take on stronger enemies."

Arkanis sat across from Elinora in a room that overlooked a quiet alleyway.

He leaned forward.

His eyes bore into hers as he asked, his voice calm.

"What kind of people are hunting me?"

Elinora inclined her head, a slight, confident smile playing at her lips.

She spoke deliberately.

"They're a highly experienced group in Nen combat," she explained.

"They've already entered the hotel you were staying in and killed Geli, and they were not fool enough to enter room 101, the room that I was in, and placed a trap to take them out."

Arkanis nodded.

"If they're fool enough to hunt me, then they're not that bright," he stated quietly.

Elinora held his gaze.

"Perhaps," she said softly.

"But the bounty is ten billion, Jenny, enough to draw attention even from seasoned Nen users and hunters."

Arkanis stood,

He crossed the small space between them and leaned one hand against the wall, turning his profile so he could look out the window.

He ran a hand through his dark hair and said,

"I won't deny that it's a big sum. But I believe... I'm worth more."

Elinora remained silent, watching him.

Arkanis released a quiet sigh and turned back to face her.

"Elinora," he said, using her full name, a tone of finality in his voice.

"I need you to find two more Nen users to join our group."

Her eyes flicked with interest, and she nodded slowly.

"I will," she replied.

"But why only two? You already have strength, tactics, and resources. What goal do you have in mind?"

Arkanis smiled and closed his eyes.

"A great plan to hunt the hunters, I would say..."
