Chapter 120: HHES: Chapter 120

Everyone turned to look at the smoke.

'Impossible!' The sound of slow, deliberate footsteps approached.

A figure began to emerge from the smoke—Loki.

The flames on his body erupted, dispersing the smoke around him.

Loki slowly raised his arm, wiping a small wound on his cheek. A shallow cut was visible.

"Not bad. You actually managed to injure me," he said, nodding slightly as he examined the blood on his fingertip.

Boom! Suddenly, someone's legs gave way, and they collapsed to the ground, staring at Loki in stunned disbelief.

"Our attack only caused... that?"

Loki reappeared before them, looking exactly as he had before—his clothes were unwrinkled, the only visible change being a small cut on his cheek.

Hundreds of guns, dozens of rocket launchers, and a Gatling gun—all that firepower, and only a minor scratch? The scene left everyone completely speechless.

Looking at the utterly shocked crowd, Loki stated calmly, "Your attack is over."

No one responded.

Loki smiled. "Then it's my turn."

Everyone's eyes widened, their faces contorted with terror.

Loki leaped into the air, his arms moving in a swift, fluid motion. "Flame Ring!" he declared.

Flames erupted around Loki, forming a fiery ring. Boom! The flames surged downwards.

In the next instant, a torrent of fire engulfed the entire area.

The flames, like a tidal wave, consumed everyone on the ground in the blink of an eye.

The flames swept across the ground, engulfing everyone almost instantly. The intense heat was so overwhelming that they didn't even have a chance to scream before being incinerated.

A devastating wave of fire surged through the area, leaving behind a landscape of charred corpses.

Across the fire-ravaged ground lay the remains of hundreds of individuals, all killed in a single, horrifying instant.

The acrid stench of burning flesh filled the air, a far more nauseating odor than the smell of blood.

Loki walked through the flames, surveying the scene. Some were still struggling, desperately rolling on the ground in a futile attempt to extinguish the flames consuming them.

But these flames were not so easily extinguished. Those who possessed Nen abilities found that the flames burned even more fiercely upon them.

As Loki continued his inspection, a figure, his face completely obscured by fire and his body horribly burned, suddenly grabbed Loki's foot. He lifted his disfigured face, his single remaining eye fixated intensely on Loki.

"You..." he rasped, his voice a mere croak. "...monster..."

Loki responded with a faint smile. With a subtle movement of his finger, a jet of flame shot forth, piercing the man's skull instantly.

At that moment, behind Loki, a figure, his body consumed by flames and his features entirely obliterated, pulled himself up from the ground.

His eyes, wide and blazing with a mixture of hatred and disbelief, were fixed intensely on Loki's back.

The moment Loki turned, the burning figure quickly diverted his gaze, ignoring the searing agony of the flames consuming his body.

With a desperate surge of adrenaline, he began to flee towards the edge of the area.

Observing the fleeing figure, Loki raised his hand, flames once again materializing in his palm.

Just as Loki was about to unleash the flames, a chain, appearing from an unexpected angle, struck him forcefully across the face.

Bang! The impact sent Loki flying backwards, his body skidding across the ground for several meters before he finally came to a halt.

The flames in his hand dissipated instantly.

Loki turned his head slowly, his expression devoid of any emotion. Several shallow cuts marred his face.

Gritting his teeth, he uttered Kurapika's name, each syllable punctuated by a surge of icy fury. Loki's eyes narrowed, his gaze hardening into an expression of intense anger.

"Why did you stop me?" Loki demanded, his voice low and menacing.

Kurapika, standing a short distance away, his chains still whirling in his hand, fixed Loki with a cold, unwavering stare.

"Why did you kill all those people?" he demanded, his voice laced with both sorrow and anger.

Loki paused momentarily, a flicker of surprise crossing his features.

"They were trying to kill me. Surely, I have the right to defend myself?" he responded, his tone laced with a hint of incredulity.

"They were nothing but a pack of fools," Kurapika countered, his voice laced with a mixture of frustration and pity. "Such individuals were hardly worthy of your attention, Loki."

Loki nodded slowly, a faint smile playing on his lips. "You're right," he conceded. "Such pathetic creatures were hardly worthy of my time and effort. However, they did actively seek their own demise."

"And so you decided to indulge them in their suicidal desires, slaughtering them without mercy?

You're becoming just like the members of the Phantom Troupe, Loki!" Kurapika roared, his voice filled with a mixture of anger and despair.

"So, what is it that you intend to do?" Loki asked, his tone calm and measured.

In response to Loki's question, Kurapika removed his coat, casually tossing it aside.

"If you continue down this path, if you become indistinguishable from the members of the Phantom Troupe, then I shall be forced to kill you," Kurapika declared, his voice resonating with a chilling determination.

"Kill... me?" Loki repeated, his voice barely a whisper. His expression, however, remained remarkably calm, his eyes unwavering.

A surge of terrifying Nen erupted from his body, the raw power radiating outwards in a palpable wave.

"Are you truly serious about this?" Loki asked, his voice a low growl.

Boom boom! Waves of Nen energy erupted from Loki's body, sending invisible shockwaves rippling outwards, creating a powerful gust of wind that buffeted Kurapika.

Kurapika raised his head, his gaze fixed intently on Loki, his expression grim and resolute.

"I once believed that revenge was the sole purpose of my existence," Kurapika began, his voice low and measured. "However, because of you, Loki..."

Kurapika released his chains, allowing them to fall to the ground.

"Loki," Kurapika continued, his voice laced with a profound sense of sorrow and regret, "you helped me eliminate the Phantom Troupe, yet that victory has left me feeling profoundly lost and disoriented.

The destruction of the Troupe has left me questioning the very meaning of my existence."

Kurapika raised his hand, clenching his fist against his chest, his body trembling slightly.

"But then I realized that there is far more to life than simply revenge," Kurapika continued, his voice regaining its strength.

"Gon and Killua taught me this invaluable lesson, and now I intend to impart this same wisdom to you, Loki."

Kurapika fixed his gaze intensely on Loki. "Today, I shall awaken you from this self-destructive path."

Whoosh whoosh whoosh!

With a sudden, fluid movement, Kurapika unleashed his chains, the weapons whirling through the air like a deadly dance of serpents.

The Nen coursing through the chains was incredibly powerful.

'Absolute Time!' Kurapika's ability, Absolute Time, allowed him to simultaneously utilize all five Nen types at their maximum potential.

It was a terrifying ability, but it came at a terrible cost: his lifespan. Each second of Absolute Time consumed an hour of his life, an exchange of 3600 to 1. It was a brutal, merciless ability.

Loki subtly tilted his head, effortlessly evading the onslaught of Kurapika's chains. With a swift, decisive turn, Loki accelerated explosively, moving with the speed of a raging storm.

In the blink of an eye, he closed the distance between himself and Kurapika, unleashing a devastating punch aimed directly at Kurapika's face.

Bang! Kurapika managed to intercept Loki's attack with his arm, but the sheer force of the blow sent him hurtling backwards, his body flying through the air.
