Hunter x Hunter - Infinite Nen Abilities

Chapter 10: Rope Of Nen - The Human Nature - Chapter 10

The room was quiet, but not peaceful.

Teres Fig sat hunched over the same wooden table, fingers interlaced beneath his chin.

Across from him sat Salya, one leg crossed over the other, her red hair unkempt and her green eyes far less playful than usual.

"What to do..."

"What to do..." Salya thought.

Neither had touched the cold tea sitting between them.

Salya finally broke the silence, her voice low and cracked.

"I heard from one of the food stall vendors. Said the bodies were found just after sunrise."

Teres looked up slowly.

"Dren and Mico," he said with a frozen face.

"Skulls crushed," Salya said flatly.

"No witnesses. No CCTV. Just blood and broken bones."

Teres stared down at the surface of the table. His fingers slowly tightened.

"…They must've gone after the wrong person."

Salya nodded.

"Someone dangerous and strong?" she asked.

"No," Teres said quietly, shaking his head.

"Someone untouchable."

They fell into silence again.

They had built something small and fragile in the shadows, and now, it had been noticed.

Salya broke eye contact and leaned back, looking toward the boarded-up window.

"We've made mistakes before," she said, though her voice lacked its usual mocking edge.

"But this… this feels different."

Teres didn't reply.

He didn't know what to say.

Then the door opened.

Neither of them moved at first.

Teres then slowly turned toward the source.

And froze.

A man stood in the doorway.

A familiar face.

The man who sat down with them before he sent the two friends to mug people.

Teres's voice cracked without meaning to.

"Nakis…"

The name dropped into the room like a stone in a pond.

Salya's body tensed like a pulled string.

Nakis didn't speak at first.

He simply looked at them with disappointment and slowly closed the door behind him.

Then, finally, he spoke.

"I gave you two a simple task. Keep your head low. Build slow. Steal from the weak."

Teres stood up suddenly, sweating heavily.

"We didn't know who they were following, I swear. The boys must've picked the wrong one. A traveler, maybe, or a hunter."

"Silence."

Nakis's voice wasn't loud.

But it cut through the room.

Salya tried to stand too, but her legs faltered.

She gripped the edge of the table.

Nakis slowly stepped closer.

His presence was suffocating now.

"I trusted you," he said again. "That was my mistake."

Salya opened her mouth, trying to force words out, but something invisible gripped her throat.

Her eyes widened.

She clawed at her neck.

Teres turned toward her, panic blooming in his face.

"W-What's happening?!"

Then it hit him too.

Like a noose tightening without warning.

His windpipe constricted.

His knees buckled.

They fell at nearly the same moment, gasping, gurgling, and clawing at nothing.

The air was gone. Their bodies convulsed.

Nakis didn't move.

He stood over them calmly, almost bored.

"That's how professionals handle liabilities." he whispered.

Just silence.

Nakis exhaled quietly and walked to the table.

"Your deaths aren't personal," he murmured.

He turned, his coat swaying behind him, and stepped back toward the door.

Nakis Flemings ( Emitter-Type Nen User)

Rope Of Nen - (Emission and Transmutation)

Nakis uses his aura to create simple ropes of Nen.

Due to a weaker level of transmutation ability, of Nakis the ropes' qualities are basic; they are not much stronger or more versatile than ordinary ropes.

Despite not needing to use "Transmutation" Nakis still uses it to give his aura more qualities of "Rope" despite not being good at it as much as he would like to be.

However, Nakis can extend these Nen Ropes up to one hundred meters in range, using them primarily to strangle enemies.

The power of the ability depends on the battle experience, and mastery of the Nen.

Aris sat cross-legged on the floor, chest rising and falling in a steady rhythm.

His aura was stable now.

He had trained without pause for almost seven hours.

Focused on switching between Ten, Ren, and Zetsu with speed and smoothness.

Practiced holding Gyo for extended periods until his temples throbbed with the strain.

The feeling of constant mental load was real, but beneath it, something else had begun to bloom.

He could feel it, like a current beneath his skin.

Stronger than yesterday. Much stronger than the day before.

Arin slowly rose to his feet.

A small grin tugged at his lips.

"Another week… maybe two… and I'll be ready."

Mastery might take longer, but "usable"?

That was approaching fast.

Fast enough that he could begin the next step: determining his Nen category.

He needed water divination for that. But even more than that…

He needed plans.

Arin walked to the window, pried it open, and stared out into the dusty city street below.

He was thinking bigger.

I can't just wander.

It was becoming clear to him.

This world, like his old one, ran on power, influence… and money. Nen was the power. But power alone wasn't enough.

Not here.

He needed resources. Reach. Mobility.

Even Ging Freecss, one of the most powerful Nen users in the world, still needed an organization and infrastructure.

"In the end, despite all the 'Nen' and the power. Here the human nature is still the same."

"Isaac Netero, despite having all the power and the Nen, still took some orders and needed to give face to the V5 and used 'Rose' to kill Meruem."

"This is the difference of Hunter x Hunter; the power does not only come in the form of magic or 'Nen' but also in the form of manipulating and understanding human nature..."
