Chapter 209: Chapter 203.2 : Moving!!
He was eager to see the entrance to the ancient labyrinth city, but there was something else that needed confirming first. Ging turned around and said to the small figure nearby, "Shizuku, let the 'Blinky' spit out our luggage. Also, recover this game console; it needs improvements."
Shizuku followed his instructions, conjuring the "Blinky." The fish's large tongue coiled deep into its throat, then it spit out a silver suitcase, placing it on a patch of weeds.
Next, the "Blinky" used its tongue to pick up the nearby game console and swallowed it.
Ging crouched down, opened the suitcase with a click, revealing a collection of neatly organized cards in different transparent boxes.
"Let me check... which card to use... 'Designated Card,' 'Spell Card,' 'Freedom Card'... Ah, this one—'Designated: Stereoscopic Camera.'"
Since they were no longer within Greed Island's range, they couldn't use the magic books to store or access their cards.
Instead, they had to use the special suitcase and card boxes made by Dwun and List.
Ging pulled out the "Designated: Stereoscopic Camera" card from the box, raised it, and activated it.
With a puff of smoke, a camera appeared in Ging's hand.
He aimed the camera at the ancient labyrinth city, took a picture, and checked it. The functionality was perfect.
"The photo from the 'Stereoscopic Camera' looks three-dimensional. You can zoom in or out to see details, and even reproduce some textures."
Ging handed the "3D Camera" to Bisky.
"Use it well."
"Don't worry," Bisky replied, blinking her big eyes and fiddling with the new camera. She was already looking forward to developing the pictures when they got back.
Since they weren't on Greed Island, the tools materialized by using cards couldn't be returned to their card form. The "3D Camera" could only be carried around.
Ging took out four transparent card cases, keeping one for himself and handing the other three to Germain, Bisky, and Shizuku.
"These cards in the cases are for emergencies. The other cards are kept in the briefcase, stored inside Shizuku's "Blinky."
"Check them over to make sure none are missing."
Germain took the card case, flipped through it, and confirmed that all 40 cards were there. He then placed it in the pocket of his Tomb Raider Hunter robe.
Like the briefcase, the card cases were substitutes for the magical spellbook. Their "Vows and Limitations" determined that the limit was 40 cards. Adding more would automatically release a card.
In other words, as long as there were no more than 40 cards, and if there were any empty spots after using some, they could be replenished up to 40 cards in the briefcase, so there was no problem.
Once all four confirmed that the card cases were intact and the count was correct, Shizuku used the "Blinky" to swallow the closed briefcase again.
Germain looked at the other three and said, "Let's stick to the plan and prepare to enter the Ancient Labyrinth City."
"Ging will lead the way and use the map from the 'Journey to the New World: Eastern Edition, Ancient Labyrinth City Chapter' to find the most suitable route given the current situation."
"Bisky will use the '3D Camera' and her phone to record everything along the way."
"Shizuku, protect yourself. That's the same as protecting the card resources in the briefcase. Don't push yourself in an emergency."
"I'll be at the back, to prevent and guard against any tracking or ambushes from behind."
The others nodded in agreement.
Ging took his position at the front of the group. He adjusted his worn-out hat, then took out a paper map of the Ancient Labyrinth City from his tattered coat.
The areas mapped by his ancestor, Don Freecss, were depicted above, with the rest shrouded in darkness.
In fact, Dwun and List had already used technical means to store the map of the ancient labyrinth city on the phones of the four of them, and they could easily pull it up to view.
However, Ging was too lazy to zoom in and out on his phone to examine the path. With his familiarity with the map's layout, using a phone map seemed less efficient than just looking at a physical one.
The group passed the stone monument of the United States of Saherta and walked through the archway made of large stones. Looking at the cracks on the arch, it always gave the feeling that it could collapse at any moment.
Soon after Germain's feet fully stepped into the ancient labyrinth city, he felt a strange sensation, like ants gnawing at his heart, occasionally transmitting through his body.
Not long after, this sensation produced a result.
"Pressure +3"
Even with the Master Aura, Germain still experienced a 3-point increase in pressure. This meant that the pressure originally applied to him should have been 8 points.
However, the pressure did not increase as frequently as it did in the dark depths of the Spider Valley. Instead, it came again after a rather long interval.
"Pressure +3"
This was the benefit of enhanced physical strength.
As they walked through the towering stone pillar forest, a feeling of insignificance rose in their hearts. The group couldn't help but lower their voices, and for a long time, no one spoke.
