Chapter 3: Chapter 3: Hunter Technique
In a dimly lit room, Dzeth leaned against the wall, surrounded by scattered thick books. His eyes meticulously scanned each page—he was trying to understand something that remained a mystery to him.
"Negative Reversal..." he whispered softly, recalling the moment he unleashed that power while fighting Speed Cursed. He wasn't sure how he did it—it happened spontaneously.
As Dzeth continued reading, his hand suddenly halted on a particular page. His eyes widened in shock as he saw something surprising.
"Limitless Hunter Technique..."
His heart pounded. This technique... it was the same as the one he used against Speed Cursed! He carefully examined every detail about it. Limitless Hunter Technique was an S-Grade technique, an extraordinary power rarely possessed by ordinary humans.
"No way... is this technique really mine?" Dzeth whispered to himself, still in disbelief. This power was too overwhelming, too extraordinary. It wasn't something one could possess without a clear reason. Yet, the fact remained—he had used it.
As he continued reading, his eyelids grew heavier. Dzeth's mind drifted into a sea of unanswered questions until he finally fell asleep.
-
The next morning, Dzeth prepared for class as usual. On his way, he ran into his older brother, RenX (Syafi).
"Are you okay?" Syafi asked, looking at him with sharp eyes.
"I'm fine... it's just that last night, I think I saw a Hunter Technique coming out of my hand."
Syafi grinned. "That's great! You finally have your own Hunter Technique!" he said proudly.
However, the joy didn't last long. The moment Dzeth stepped into his classroom, he could feel the sharp gazes of all his classmates. One of them, Hwang, stood with his arms crossed and sneered.
"Oi, weakling. You're lucky you survived that curse just because someone helped you, huh?"
Dzeth frowned. Someone helped me? He was sure he fought alone. But he chose not to respond and simply sat at his desk, opening his book.
Not long after, their teacher entered the classroom and made an announcement.
"Students, we have a new mission. You all need to go to 'Hodigama Cave' for your next training."
The moment he heard that, Hwang smirked.
"Teacher, just let Dzeth go alone. Let him learn to be strong for once. I'm tired of seeing him be a burden all the time."
Dzeth resisted the urge to show his Limitless Hunter Technique, but he chose not to act arrogantly. This power was still too new to him.
-
Upon arriving at the cave, they encountered two paths—one on the right, the other on the left.
"We go right," Hwang said, leading most of the students.
Dzeth wanted to follow them, but suddenly, one of Hwang's friends pushed him aside.
"You go left alone. If you don't finish it, you're dead meat later."
Left with no choice, Dzeth carefully stepped into the left tunnel. Moments later, he froze at the sight before him.
Blade Cursed.
The creature had sharp blades extending from its arms, its glowing red eyes indicating that it was an A-Grade Curse.
"I have no choice..." Dzeth clenched his fists.
Immediately, Negative Reversal activated. His body moved at incredible speed before he launched a powerful punch at Blade Cursed. However, the creature retaliated with a swift counterattack.
SWASH!
Dzeth was stunned as he saw his arm severed from his body. A searing pain shot through him, but then something unbelievable happened—
His arm regenerated as if it had never been cut off.
"What...? I can heal myself?" Dzeth was shocked.
-
Meanwhile, on the right path, Hwang and his group were fighting against dozens of Bee Cursed, giant-sized creatures of D-Grade. They began slaughtering the bees one by one.
Elsewhere, a student who had arrived late finally entered the cave. He chose the left path and was stunned to see Dzeth fighting Blade Cursed alone.
"I have to help him!"
But before he could act, Dzeth shouted.
"Go to the right! Help the others there! I can handle this on my own!"
The student hesitated but ultimately decided to watch from a distance.
Dzeth activated Maximum Positive—his body radiated a bright blue aura. With one swift motion, he unleashed his strongest punch.
"HAAA!"
BOOM!
Blade Cursed was obliterated in an instant.
The student who witnessed the battle was speechless.
"You... you're Dzeth, the most weakest Hunter?"
Dzeth nodded and said, "Come on, let's help Hwang and the others."
-
Upon arriving at the right path, Dzeth saw Hwang and his group injured from the giant bees' attacks.
"Why didn't you call for help earlier?" Dzeth asked, slightly disappointed.
Without wasting time, he requested a sword from the student who had accompanied him. After receiving it, he dashed towards the swarm of bees, cutting them down one by one with speed too fast for the eye to follow.
"This isn't as tough as earlier," he said calmly.
Hwang gritted his teeth, unable to accept that Dzeth had saved them.
"Oi, you think you're so great? Fight me!"
Dzeth smirked before suddenly appearing right in front of Hwang in an instant, throwing a punch—but stopping just inches away from his face.
Hwang broke into a sweat. "Why is he so fast now?" he thought.
Dzeth simply smiled.
"Next time, don't assume I'm weak."
