Chapter 2: Birth (2)
Where am I?
I hear the bird chirping and the moving of grass with the wind.
I open my eyes to see the sun shining brightly and the vivid images of the trees.
I try to move but for some reason, my body is so heavy. Despite that, there seems to be no problem with my body unlike the time I first came to.
I move my head left and right to see where the hell I am. In the place where the goblin used to be is a pile of bones and its dried up blood.
"Gugh"
Realizing that I probably ate it, I instinctively let out a growl but unlike before, I don't feel repulsed about eating it... Why is that?
Swish.
While I was contemplating about that, a noise from my left gets my attention. A wolf came out of a bush and eyes me as if I am free food.
"Guraaa!!"
I bellowed out a roar to scare it but in truth, I really don't know how to get out of this mess. I still can't move my body and even if I do, can I even beat a wolf that looks like it evolved?
The wolf shows off its fangs as if to compete with me and walks up to me with caution.
I try to move my arms and legs but alas I really can't. I probably look like a slug trying to move in front of this bastard.
---Shit! My body... I still can't move it!
The wolf is just a few steps away to bare its fangs to my side and take a piece of me. He prepares himself while I let out another roar full of desperation.
"GUAHHH!"
The wolf runs and the sound of twigs breaking can be heard.
Dudududu.
The ground shook.
I roll my body away in the moment that he jumps hoping he'll miss.
Swish. Boom!
The loud impact of landing caused my ears to ring but it doesn't hurt...?
I shift my head to see what happened and an evolved jaguar has interfered with the feasting of the wolf.
The wolf, agitated with the entrance of a new enemy, growls. The jaguar answers back.
While they were bickering with each other, I try to see if I can move my body to escape this place.
And as if to answer my hopes, I can move although not so fast.
I again crawl to move out of their sight when their competition reaches its peak. Fortunately, they don't seem to have any interest in me anymore.
After moving a fair distance away from the glade, I stand up to inspect my surroundings to check if I am now safe.
I went inside a cave that I found after checking the area and as I sit, I realize something.
---Why is my body like this?
Looking at my arms and my body that are green and small and even my face seem to have changed its shape...?
I feel ashamed. My pride is broken like I have fallen from great heights. I don't really know why but my insides are telling me that it is humiliating to transform into a monster, let alone… a goblin.
However as I am now a goblin, the instincts of a goblin are fighting that disgust, that shame. I spent hours trying to contemplate on what happened but nothing comes to mind. Well, there's nothing I can do about it at this stage.
Pondering about the questions that cannot be answered made my stomach growl. I am hungry. I still don't know how I survive as a goblin in this forest but staying in a cave with no food will definitely kill me off.
I decided to scout for food, animals that I can catch. Though when I think about it, rabbit is all that I can catch...
Walking outside of the cave with a sigh, I notice that the darkness has spread its wings and the moon showing its full brilliance.
I walk around in the forest with the night as my cover as I search for my prey.
