HP X LOTM : Please Call Me Mr. Error.

Chapter 364: Tarot Club : Underlying Plot (1).

Loki looked at the Tarot Club members lazily as they all wished him one by one in their own way after bowing slightly and sitting in their chairs.

Loki was feeling a little sleepy since he'd spent much of the past week studying from Rowena's books in the Room of Requirements.

He'd learnt a lot from them but not exactly about what he'd wanted.

For example, one of the lines in the book was as follows-

"The source of all magic is the Chaos Sea."

The line hadn't made much sense to Loki when he'd first read it. It had shocked him and confused him while possibly leaving him a little bamboozled, but Loki kept his head calm and read further.

"A crucial fact about magic is intent. Whether it be to control the level of output of one's spell or its actions, like using the Aqua Eructo to quench one's thirst or using it to slice through an iron gate-"

"-each variation of the spell requires one to understand about the intent of its user in an intimate manner, lest they slice the neck of their loved ones while giving them water to piss on an iron door."

"As such one possible solution to this would be to expose the Body of Heart and Mind to the True God of their spell."

"But as expected this is risky. It could allow the True God a hook into their minds for corruption, while also allowing them to execute nefarious plots like using the person as a carrier of an explosive that would activate only if they used a certain spell from another god's domain."

"To avoid this, Helga and I've come up with a method that uses the Chaos Sea. The Chaos Sea being a Sefirot that contains the entirety of the Sea of Subconscious of every single living being on the planet can also perfectly pinpoint the intent of all those executing a spell."

"As such, using a rune as an indirection towards the Chaos Sea can help single out the intent of the user while hiding their body of heart and mind from the corresponding True God."

Loki was very shocked by the information.

Not just because the method was remarkably similar to the one he had discovered to hide his intent from Voldemort, but also because Rowena and Helga Hufflepuff seemed to be in contact with the Chaos Sea.

"Was one of them already a Great Old One?"

Loki frowned.

He didn't understand why someone would have a Sefirot and still be forced to slumber for such a long time.

Especially when Klein was done battling the Celestial Worthy of Heaven and Earth in such a short period of time.

Loki's eyes trembled a little as he read further.

"There are several ways one can speed up casting their spell because of this layer of indirection, one way would be to simply strip off the layer of indirection and directly expose your body of heart and mind to a true god-

"-but another clever technique might be to package the intent behind several spells in a row into the first spell they want to execute such that all the following spells happen effortlessly."

"This is a little tricky to do and is also very rigid since one cannot cancel or modify their intent after it has left them, but in cases where your wand is separated from you, one could still cause it to spit out their already planned spells."

Loki's eyes widened at Rowena's knowledge.

It truly cemented in his eyes that she was the creator of such a complex system.

Not just because she knew the ins and outs of the entire system, but also because she'd done it all in such a way that no one in history had ever been able to figure these secrets out.

Not even someone as great as Merlin or Albus Dumbledore.

As such, Loki spent an extraordinary amount of time in the Room of Requirements for the next week or so, aiming to absorb all the knowledge that Rowena had written down in her books by trying to make sure not to miss out on anything.

But it all came at a slight cost, Loki barely had any food during this time and slept even less.

To the point that by the end of the week even his Sequence 5 body was left demanding a little rest from him.

But Loki knew he didn't have a lot of time, since not only did he need to absorb all this knowledge, he also needed to perfect its usage in a way that he could gain an advantage over Voldemort in the duel he had planned for them.

Each tip and each trick felt like it had been written down with a lot of care and research, which made him feel like he was standing on the shoulder of giants.

Even still, Loki shamelessly absorbed all the knowledge, making sure that he'd repay his little admirers when he decided to go back in time.

As the Tarot Club members sat down, Snape was the first to speak-

"Mr. Error, this is a request from the True Goddess of my pathway."

Loki turned towards Snape lazily as his eyes that were drooping shut stared at Snape's Body of Heart and Mind.

'I guess he isn't lying...…? Since he looks like a child asking their guardian for candy.'

'I can see how excited he is about learning from his question...'

'But what exactly is the question?'

Loki nodded softly, indicating for Snape to speak as everyone else in the Tarot Club looked at him with rapt attention, wondering what the True God of a pathway would want to ask Mr. Error.

Except, Loki's head wasn't working right.

But no one else knew this.

"Mr. Error, 'She' asks if you know of a method to clear the corruption of the Moon."

Loki looked at Snape with the same lazy expression as his brain slowly processed the words and meanings associated with Snape's question.

As if drunk, Loki nodded.

"I do."

Everyone leaned in closer with excitement, curious to know about Loki's next words, but Loki remained silent.

Time ticked away and what was a few seconds of silence slowly stretched to a minute. That was when they realised that Loki wasn't going to expand on his answer as such everyone suddenly realised something.

'Equivalent exchange!'

'Mr. Error wants to know what Mr. Moon is willing to pay for this!'

Everyone turned to look at Mr. Moon and he gripped the side of his chair a little uncomfortable by the sudden piercing stares that had been thrown in his direction.

But he realised that he should've asked for a private audience to keep the matter a secret from the beginning.

And so Mr. Moon spoke.

"Could you conceal our conversation from others Mr. Error?" Snape spoke softly.

Loki's blinked and to everyone's shock and excitement, shook his head.

'Why bother when everyone here is on the same side?'

'Ah…there's Mr. Devil…but I can just trap him in an illusion.'

Snape was left a little startled and a little confused but he couldn't bring himself to speak properly.

'This…'

Mr. Error however kept staring at him. Asking with his gaze if Snape was going to continue speaking or not.

Although the stares of other people didn't bother him very much, Mr. Error's gaze felt heavy.

So Snape just *gulped* softly before nodding and continuing after he made up his mind to continue speaking.

"Although I do not have very much to offer to Mr. Error, my Goddess has offered me the opportunity for Mr. Error to earn the card of Blasphemy for the Abyss pathway should you solve her problem."

Almost everyone's eyes widened.
