HP: Wizardry’s a Hassle, Wand in the Right Hand, Gun in the Left

Chapter 252: Chapter 143: He’s Here!

"It seems we were worrying too much. Everyone appears to have stabilized the situation."

Hermione cast a Barrier Charm to immobilize the charging Acromantula, while Glenn—no, to be precise, Glenn, who had already changed back into his Night Watchman Professor guise—used a Bone-Shattering Curse to crush the creature's skull.

According to Hermione, if a professor could go to the Great Hall to oversee things, the young wizards would feel much more reassured and composed.

However, judging by the current situation, even without a professor present, the young wizards were quickly adapting to this battlefield where a single misstep could mean death.

Unexpected yet reasonable, while most young wizards panicked in the face of life-and-death crises, those with more mature mindsets, strong execution skills, keen judgment, and formidable abilities—such as Draco, Neville, and upper-year students like Cedric and Percy—were able to organize and inspire the less decisive students to reignite their fighting spirit.

After all, they were merely dealing with somewhat intelligent, brutish beasts—not vicious Dark Wizards. Hogwarts students weren't entirely helpless. As long as the front-line wizards could hold off the Acromantula's charge, the bewildered young wizards in the rear only needed to hurl whatever spells they could at the enemy. In fact, this was even simpler than dueling.

Although those at the very front bore the brunt of the danger and risked losing their lives with even a slight mistake, Draco and Neville's skills had vastly improved compared to the past. Moreover, they were facing opponents they were intimately familiar with, so even with the increased numbers, they could stabilize the battlefield while ensuring their own safety.

What Glenn hadn't anticipated was the situation with the Weasley twins and their elder brother, Percy Weasley. They had exploited the spiders' weaknesses to disorient them and cause them to hinder one another, buying significant rest time for the front-line wizards defending against the attacks.

Unconventional yet effective—this was one of the strengths of George and Fred Weasley. Although the idea likely originated from Percy, that detail didn't matter.

Even though the black smoke from the twins' thrown items obscured visibility, observing the battlefield was clearly no issue for the two individuals capable of sensory sharing and heightened perception.

"Now that the situation has stabilized, Glenn, do you still want to continue pretending to be a professor?"

Hermione closed her eyes to observe the battle through her heightened sensory perspective as she spoke to Glenn.

Having Glenn pose as a professor to reassure the young wizards was a decision made in the heat of the moment. However, maintaining this facade required Glenn to exert considerable effort. Since the situation was no longer as dire, Hermione, out of personal concern, didn't want Glenn to overexert himself. After all, it had only been two weeks since Glenn's soul origin was split and drained, and his body had yet to fully recover to its peak condition.

Resting would be better.

"Let's continue. Otherwise, it would be hard to explain the presence of this guy by our side. We'll deal with the rest later."

Glenn was indifferent to the matter. Although this unexpected incident had cost him valuable time for researching alchemical constructs, removing a potential threat was worth it to him.

"Besides, this matter will be resolved soon. On the way here, I did some probing. Once we drop Lockhart off at the Great Hall, I'll head out on my own to eliminate the internal threat to Hogwarts."

"Then I…"

Hermione hesitated upon hearing this but still spoke up without hesitation.

However, Glenn interrupted her.

"You stay in the Great Hall and watch over the others. I imagine you're worried about them too."

"What's happening today isn't as severe as you think, so I can handle it alone."

"…How long?"

Hermione pouted slightly, her voice muffled as she asked.

"Ten minutes."

"After we drop Lockhart off at the Great Hall, I'll head out. If I haven't returned in ten minutes, then you can decide whether to come find me."

Glenn knew Hermione was worried about him, so he made this request.

"Fine."

Hermione had no further objections. Glenn's every word had stopped just short of crossing her bottom line, leaving her somewhat frustrated.

But time waits for no one. It was best to resolve the matter quickly. Hermione didn't continue persuading him.

"Then let's head in."

"Just as we discussed."

---

"Ugh… But seriously, why hasn't Glenn shown up yet?"

Draco placed his empty glass on the table and looked toward the back door of the Great Hall, which was now engulfed in the smoke released by the twins' prank items.

"Boom!"

Almost simultaneously with Draco's gaze, the thick smoke that had obscured the back door of the Great Hall was completely blown away by the aftermath of an explosion. The Acromantula battling within the smoke was consumed by the flames from the blast.

"Whirlwind Scour, Clean Sweep."

A deep male voice echoed, and the remains of the Acromantula and the ashes from the fire were gathered and vanished into thin air. A figure clad in a black robe and wearing a white mask appeared in front of the Great Hall's back door.

"Night Watchman Professor!" "Look! The professor is here!" "Night Watchman Professor! Are you okay?"

The sudden explosion had drawn the attention of almost everyone present, and the familiar figure standing before the now-empty doorway visibly lifted the spirits of the weary young wizards.

The Night Watchman Professor was still in Hogwarts—how reassuring!

Their long-held anxiety began to dissipate. It wasn't for any other reason but the sense of security the Night Watchman Professor's strength, demonstrated in past dueling clubs, had instilled in them.

Not only did the bewildered young wizards regain their morale, but even the upper-year students who had been directing their peers in defense breathed a sigh of relief.

"Phew, thank goodness the Night Watchman Professor is here. Honestly, if this had gone on any longer, I think I might've fainted even if the Acromantula didn't get me."

Cedric smiled as he rubbed his sore arm—a testament to his efforts in battle.

Earlier, he had been fully occupied with rallying nearby young wizards for mutual support, reminding others to defend critical points, and casting spells. This charming, kind-hearted upper-year student had maintained a stern expression throughout, leaving no room for idle chatter.

Now, he was even cracking jokes with his friends, a clear sign that he, too, had relaxed.
