Ch 15 – Gryffindor Seeker

β€œGive it to me Malfoy,” Harry ordered standing behind him.

Draco looked at his cousin and with one look he had already told her his entire plan.

Kaguya began to walk away a little, she got on her broom ready to start the game.

β€œWhat do you think you're doing? You can't fly?” Hermione asked in her typical bossy voice.

Kaguya rolled her eyes tiredly and ignored her.

β€œWe'll let Longbottom look for it on the roof,” Draco said, he positioned himself on his broom and began to fly away from the rest, β€œWhat's wrong Potter? Is it out of reach?”

Harry got on his broom despite Hermione's warnings, who was sure it was a trap by Malfoy and Black.

β€œIs Mummy Hermione disappointed in her baby?” Kaguya mocked, rising on the broom while Draco distracted Potter.

The blond played with Potter, pretending that one with glasses had to reach the remembrall.

Draco enjoyed having Potter like an idiot behind him, and with a bright smile he began to spin around him to make him dizzy.

β€œKaguya!” He exclaimed, throwing the ball with force.

Black flew quickly towards the Remembrall, catching it.

Sensing Potter close to it, she threw the Remembrall into the air and with a spin managed to hit it with her broom, sending the object far away.

β€œCome on, Potter,” she said to him when she was close, β€œI am teaching you how to play Quidditch.”

Harry glared at her and followed it as fast as he could.

But Black was more agile and managed to reach the remembrall faster.

Kaguya tried to avoid flying near the castle windows, so that she wouldn't be discovered and punished.

But then she had an idea. 'What would the Kittens do if the great Harry Potter was punished and his house was deducted points because of their saviour?'

β€œCatch it, Potter,” Black suggested.

She threw the remembrall straight at McGonagall's office window and quickly lowered her own broom to the ground, reaching solid ground in record time.

β€œWhat's your plan?” Theo asked when he saw her land.

β€œWhat do you think McGonagall will think when she sees her window broken and Potter flying away without permission?”

The snakes smiled at Kaguya's words, while the lions (or Kittens) as she claimed looked fearfully at whatever Harry did.

But he managed to catch the remembrall before it hit the window and approached them waving the object in victory.

Victory that became Kaguya's when Professor McGonagall arrived demanding to speak to Harry.

β€œWhat's your problem?!” Hermione's bubble about to burst, completely furious, to the point of being scary.

Kaguya looked at her with a raised eyebrow and made a face of not knowing what she was talking about.

β€œExcuse me? I don't speak in meow, sorry,” Kaguya walked past her, ignoring her.

β€œ(ΰΈ‡ ‒̀ゝ‒́)ง” Hermione scrunched her nose angrily, she is about to break her oath to her mother, say very rude words.

Nothing was heard from Harry until a few hours later, a few hours in which Draco was feeling bored from having no one to bother.

β€œSeriously, Draco. I'm telling you, I saw it,” Kaguya continued to insist.

She had told him about what happened the night before, and that she had seen her father in a mirror.

Draco didn't think Kaguya was crazy, but Sirius Black was locked up in Azkaban, he just thought that she was confusing reality with a very real dream like so many other times before.

β€œThe mirror was in...”

β€œDid you know that Harry Potter is the new Gryffindor Seeker? I always knew he would go far!”

Kaguya stared in shock at Sir Nearly Headless. 'There was no way they would see him, flying without permission and playing with a fellow wizard's Remembrall and rewarding him by making him a Gryffindor Seeker, right?'

β€œWhat, Harry Potter?!” Kaguya hissed, finally knowing what Instant Karma was.

Draco looked at his cousin with a little fear.

But Draco didn't understand that, it was Kaguya who should be part of the Quidditch team.

It was she who should stand out, not lucky Harry Potter.

β€œAre you okay?” Draco asked her cousin a little worried by the look on his face.

Harry and Ron walked around talking about the recent news that Potter was going to be a Quidditch player.

When they went out into the courtyard, Hermione joined them.

Kaguya ignored her cousin and ran after Potter.

She pushed Hermione and stood in front of him.

She calmed her urge to hit him and tried to soften her gaze. She gave a small clap, leaving the trio confused.

β€œWow Potter, you're so lucky,” Kaguya smiled and placed her hand on his shoulder.

β€œWhat do you want, Black?” Hermione asked irritatedly, her voice more loud than usual.

Kaguya mildly glanced at her, but preferred to focus on Harry.

β€œI just wanted to congratulate you on being Gryffindor Seeker,” she replied under Ron's uneasy look, β€œIt's not normal for a first year student to be chosen for a team since it's usually very dangerous. You know, the bumps, the falls, the possibility of ending up fried chicken by lightning, I've heard that some players disappear in middle of a game and aren't found until about two months later....”

Kaguya said it seriously, showing resentment with each word and making Harry tremble under her touch.

β€œBut don't worry,” Only for Black to smile again and separate from him, β€œI'll go to your funeral,” and with a big, bright smile she began to walk away from him.

β€œScary!” Ron said as Kaguya walked away from them.

β€œWhat if what she said comes true?!” Harry asked with some fear in his voice.

β€œShe's just jealous that you're on a team and she's not!” Hermione said to try to calm Harry down, β€œShe's afraid that you'll achieve what she didn't, her prank didn't work and now she thinks she can scare you. We shouldn't pay attention to people like her!”

While part of what Hermione said was true, Ron knew another version of Kaguya, a kinder one and not as mean.

They weren't best friends, but he didn't think it was fair to talk badly about her without knowing her better.

β€œShe's not that bad,” Ron interrupted, defiantly facing Hermione, β€œYou don't know her well.....”

β€œAnd you do?” That's it, a bonkers Hermione, now standing in front of Ron, β€œKaguya Black's a manipulative, spoiled child who is not able to accept that someone is better than her. She is a self-centered person who will never become anything more than a villain!”

β€œYou don't know her either,” Ron continued to stand with his proud face, not afraid of Hermione's temper in the slightest, β€œShe's only like that with you because you decided to tell her to her face that she came from a horrible family and you didn't even apologize. Do you have a father who is in Azkaban?”

β€œIf that's her excuse for being the way she is, it doesn't make sense. She wanted to frame Harry for something he didn't do, she wants to manipulate him into being afraid. Do you know who are the same people as her? Those who are locked up in Azkaban...!”

Ron couldn't take it anymore and left while Hermione was making her speech, offended that Ron preferred to defend Black rather than agree with her.

Meanwhile, Harry stood in the middle of the courtyard with two different versions of the same person.

He didn't know who to trust, he only knew the evil version of Kaguya but she could be pretending or being influenced by her cousin.

She wasn't mean to Ron.

She hated Hermione.

Black was just weird.

Harry ran to chase his friends, not wanting them to fight over Kaguya.

He managed to bring them back together, although they wouldn't talk to each other, and both decided to help Harry with his fear of playing.

'Mudbloods don't matter, their opinion doesn't matter. You don't have to listen to them. You're better than her.....'

Kaguya ran through castle until she reached the room where she found the mirror.

She slammed the door and threw herself on the floor, trying not to cry.

'You're useless. Heeding the word of a Mudblood? You wouldn't have to if you were just doing the right thing! You're a disappointment, Black. You will too end up in Azkaban!'

Why was he like this? Why did he have to act like this? Was Granger right?

She was scared, Lucius was right about everything.

If she did something wrong, she would pay for it.

But according to Hermione, she was doing everything wrong.

Kaguya moved to the mirror, and saw herself as she really was.

'A self-centered person who doesn't accept that anyone is better than her. A spoiled brat who acts out of fear....'

That's why, stopped looking at the mirror so don't have to see herself.

Hermione's words shouldn't have any power.

And even less so when she doesn't know her.

Hermione didn't know what was going on in her house, but description she gave about her seemed so accurate.

She had said what she had to to destroy her. Because Granger was right, because her uncle was right.

Hermione might be ignorant when it came to herself, but she was smart.

She wiped away her tears and looked in the mirror to try to straighten her clothes.

Sirius was still there, showing the support she never had from her uncle.

But besides seeing him, in the distance, Kaguya could see silhouette of Hermione.

She was moving her lips, uttering a phrase that could have changed everything.

A phrase that Kaguya, deep in her heart, needed at that moment.

'I'm sorry.'
