Chapter 233: Chapter 233: The Beards (Bonus Chapter)
For the next few hours, Hermione was in an unusually fervent mood.
Orli had called Dobby to Hagrid's hut and asked him to bring Winky along.
Poor Winky was still heavily intoxicated. Dobby had to support her with his thin arms to keep her from collapsing. She was so drunk that she couldn't respond to any questions, let alone hold a coherent conversation. But Hermione didn't seem to care—she had felt deeply sympathetic toward Winky ever since the Quidditch World Cup. Now, upon discovering that Winky was homeless, she looked as though she wanted to march straight to the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures and slam her fists on their desks.
"Do you see this? This is how the wizarding world treats house-elves—when they lose their masters, no one even remembers them! No one cares where they live, what they eat, or how they survive!" Hermione shouted passionately.
"But she's an adult… elf…" Ron muttered hesitantly.
"She has no home, no income, no family—how is she supposed to live?!" Hermione shot back, refusing to listen to Ron. She pulled out a couple of S.P.E.W. badges from her pocket, handed them to Dobby, and introduced the Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare.
"Dobby would be honored to join, miss," Dobby said, bowing deeply. He even took out four silver Sickles to hand to Hermione.
"When Winky wakes up, Dobby will ask her too."
"No, no, Dobby. House-elves don't need to pay to join," Hermione said quickly, returning the money to him.
Ron grumbled under his breath, "See? Even house-elves get better treatment than us."
"I'll find a proper place to settle Winky and get her a job—a proper job with a salary!" Hermione declared with determination.
"Give me a few days; I need to plan this out. Dobby, can I temporarily appoint you as the manager of the House-Elf Welfare Home?"
Dobby's large, round eyes turned to Orli, and Hermione's gaze followed. Faced with two pairs of hopeful eyes, Orli couldn't bring herself to refuse.

Night fell quickly, and Dobby left with Winky for the time being.
They returned to the castle with Hagrid to attend the Halloween feast—and more importantly, the announcement ceremony for the Triwizard Tournament champions.
However, on their way, they encountered Madame Maxime and the Beauxbatons students. Hagrid immediately strode over to chat with Madame Maxime, his expression utterly besotted, as though he had just drunk several barrels of mead.
"He's going to the castle with her?!" Hermione exclaimed.
"I thought he wanted to walk with us!"
Indeed, Hagrid didn't even glance back at the four of them. He simply stomped along with Madame Maxime, crossing the grounds toward the castle.
"He's in love with her!" Ron said in disbelief.
"If they ever have kids, they'll definitely set a world record—I bet each of their kids will weigh at least a ton."
When they entered the Great Hall, bathed in candlelight, it was already nearly full. The Goblet of Fire had been moved; it now stood in front of Dumbledore's empty seat at the staff table.
Fred and George were surrounded by a small group of Gryffindors, with bursts of laughter erupting from the crowd. Orli approached to see what was so amusing: their white hair had returned to normal, but their beards had turned bright red to match their hair. To top it off, they had braided their beards, making them look like two dwarves (albeit much taller ones).
"All I need now is an axe!" Fred declared, striking a comical pose.
"And I just need a hammer, brother!" George added, thumping his fist against his chest.
"What happened?" Harry asked.
"Madam Pomfrey was too busy today," Lee Jordan explained with a shrug. "She had to look after Fawcett from Ravenclaw and Summers from Hufflepuff. I think she left their beards on purpose—to teach them a lesson."
