Chapter 459: Chapter 295 Family Matters (Part 1)

When I opened my eyes, I was pleased that Andromeda had met my expectations and taken my daughter seriously, and that the details of the plan to save the Black Family were interesting, but that was secondary. The main thing was that I was convinced that the women of the Black Family could be relied upon, that they could be counted on.

Narcissa had taken care of the Malfoy family's affairs with such care and thoroughness that poor Draco could now feel sorry for her: the woman had hired several tutors to visit the boy at Hogwarts in the evenings. It wasn't easy for her to agree to this, but with the influence of the family, money and compromise, she sold her initiative to the Board of Trustees.

Dumbledore, of course, would not give up and continued to insist on his unwillingness to allow outsiders onto the grounds, into his household. It wasn't even an argument to him that such a practice had been in place two hundred years ago, before these obscure reforms had begun.

Hogwarts was a big castle, and it had a lot of different solutions for the education of the young generation of gifted students, and it was also provided that some of the students would have some rare gift, and the school staff would not have the necessary specialist, so there was a special clause in the school's charter that provided for such a case.

And what to say, if for such classes were provided premises with increased control of the director and maximum security circuits — this is in case if the tutor turns out to be a saboteur who manages to bypass the vows and oaths. But our Light knew that the castle's magical systems had been severely damaged, so the "special training rooms" had lost most of their effectiveness.

He didn't want to explain anything to anyone, and he didn't plan any repairs, but he didn't want to agree categorically, and he even tried to threaten quietly, saying that he would raise the shields of the school so that "all sorts of unknown dangerous people" would not be able to get inside.

Dumbledore replied to the old man with the same soft threat, even more of a hint, saying that of all the headmasters of Hogwarts, the current one was personally famous, but he had done nothing for the school of magic. Dumbledore tried to stammer, saying that changes had begun in recent months, and even some serious repairs were planned with the money he'd received.

But the old man was besieged, reminded affectionately of the first three years of Harry Potter (not the boy himself, but that period of time), of the rumors of his adventures, and also of the fact that specifically his merits, initiatives, there were none — all changes came either from the Ministry or from a private person (me).

There was something to answer him with, the arguments went on, but it had no effect on the case, and Draco Malfoy would now be exhausted every night in special classes and training, "prescribed" to him by his mother. Yes, it would take a lot of work to become a worthy Lord, not what Lucius was.

Speaking of Lucius. Everyone wondered what the Spirit Bird had done to the former head of the Malfoy family. After spending some time researching this question, the following was discovered. First, all portraits, magical photographs and other images of the family had disappeared: there was a frame, there was a signature, but the portrait itself was gone, empty, and so everywhere, even in old newspapers. Narcissa even received a few letters from excited "partners," but the answer was the same for all of them: Rod's affairs.

That was it. Second, we investigated "Luci" himself, trying to find out the nature of the blond man's punishment. Here everything turned out to be more complicated, wiser. As far as we could understand, there are two personalities living in the head of the house elf at the same time: the house elf itself and Lucius. But this is only at first sight, if you look deeper, it turns out that these two personalities, like separate, are in fact somehow very cleverly connected. But not in the same way.

The house elf named "Lucy" is a house elf, you could say "classic", she controls the body and magic, but Lucius is an observer, he has no access to controlling the body or magic, he feels and senses everything, his mind is not changed, but is influenced by the house elf. In other words, everything the house-elf feels and experiences is passed on to his "housemate".

A strange punishment to me, but not without humor. And if we take into account the simple fact that magic is tied to the soul, then having a personal core will make the house elf Lucy live longer, be smarter and stronger than other house elves, and the seal imposed by the spirit bird will not allow her to betray the family. So Lucius will live in this body for at least a few centuries. There's nothing wrong with the body.

The fact that house elves reproduce themselves on magical sources is a known fact, but there have been not infrequent cases when a family house elf simply appeared — at least that's what everyone always said, and what was actually there was a mystery shrouded in darkness. I suspect that the "appearance" of new house elves is a consequence of another trial over a careless traitor of the family, but as already mentioned, we have no confirmation of this hypothesis, except for the house elf Lucy.

Returning to the Blacks, it is worth stating at once that on a wave of chaos in the Ministry, my profit was not received by me alone. Bellatrix had sent a scroll to the Ministry complaining about the plundering of the Black family's property. She sent it, of course, on behalf of her manager, who lives in Romania.

So no one was going to return anything, but the manager was kindly offered a share in the fate of the Acromantulas near Hogwarts. Lucius had already tried to do something there, like a farm or a nursery, but everything remained on paper — he was too caught up in the intrigue. If he wanted to, he could just destroy the spiders and collect everything valuable from them, or he could start some kind of business, as long as he paid taxes and kept the spiders out of the school, and the Ministry didn't care about the rest. The Romanian was offered to deal with those who also had rights to this activity, i.e. the Malfoy family, on his own.

And that was without mentioning the simple and well-known fact that Acromantulas were not cute kittens, not at all. Needless to say, the sisters came to an agreement very quickly, and Andromeda joined in as well? As for Nymphadora, the girl wrote her own letter of resignation and now suffers from a repeated procedure of being raised by three black sisters. I even had the idea of suggesting that they form their own coven, under mine, of course, but I put that dangerous idea on hold... for the future.

I was euphoric about the unexpectedly quick decision about the artifact, and so I didn't think that Nymphadora might reveal everything. Of course, she didn't have any direct evidence, and she couldn't, but she could raise suspicions, and I didn't want to spoil my relationship with Amelia Bones. It didn't even occur to me that the girl might be able to squeal on her superiors and Dumbledore, and when she did, my hair stood on end. It didn't take me more than a few minutes to summon a few strong spirits, longer for the 'briefing', and then I sent them off to keep an eye on the target, Nymphadora Tonks.

If she started talking to outsiders, the Mind Spirit would simply inhabit her, put her mind to sleep, subdue her body, and then return to me with her body, and the second spirit, the Fire Spirit, would help him in battle, if at all. Realizing that I might be too late, I decided to dive into the spirit plane and find out who and what I had time to learn. I liked Andromeda very much, but I didn't understand why she raised her daughter so... negligently? If she had bothered, Nymphadora would have grown up to be a real James Bond, who doesn't need any make-up, she always has wigs and other things with her. She herself was to blame for her daughter's "stupidity", and now she was being flogged, albeit a little more frighteningly.

It was good that the girl did not resent her mother, I mean, she did not hold a grudge, it even helped her, because she took the study of dark magic and curses seriously, but only to fight them. All three sisters were happy with the girl's choice, saying that she would talk like that now, but later she would get involved and not realize how she would start practicing it. I do not know what will come of this, but I hope that in a few years there will be a new master of dark magic in Britain who will work in the hospital and help people. Anyway, we'll see.
