HP : A Wizard's Dream

This chapter is not part of the story and only exists to give you an idea of what to expect in this story. I don't consider that anything written here is a spoiler, but you can skip this chapter if you want to be surprised. The next chapter, "Character" is the same, only here to give you an idea of what to expect from the MC. The chapter "Classification system" is here to explain the different rankings of magical power, item rarity, currencies and things unique to the wizarding world in general.

The chapters will often be updated, to correct mistakes, change a sentence to make it easier to understand, change a detail or two... Especially these auxiliary chapters.

The story takes place in the late 19th century (Mc's birth : 1stJune 1874, Hogwarts 1st year in 1885-1886, Hogwarts 7th year in 1891-1892), he enters Hogwarts approximately 5 years before the story of Hogwarts Legacy, and around a century before the canon of the Harry Potter series.

The MC (Main Character) is Arthur Polaris, he lived in our world and died in 2025 before he was reincarnated in the world and time period mentioned above.

MC will not be OP (OverPowered) in the beginning but he will be a bit superior to other people his age because he has the experience and mentality from his previous life. MC will only become OP later in the story, it's a world of magic after all, anything is possible, and he will not waste this opportunity to reach the top.

There won't be any system or immortal grandpa selflessly giving him advice. The only "system like" feature you will see in this novel is in the auxiliary chapter "Character", that only exists to simplify the innate talent of the MC in the different magical and mundane disciplines. Everyone has something that they are talented at, those are just indicators. Talent only makes things easier and more instinctive, it's like having an affinity (or its opposite...) but with hard work and experience, even someone with a poor talent in a discipline will easily overpower a "once in a century genius" without or with less experience in said discipline.

This story starts way before cannon (Hogwarts Legacy, Fantastic Beasts and Harry Potter) so don't expect the story to strictly follow it, or even follow it at all. The only thing that won't change is the past before the MC reincarnation : anything about the founders' era, the ancient magic guardians and the statute of secrecy.

This is a Fanfiction, as such, it won't follow the cannon AND some details might be changed, either for convenience, or because I don't live in the wizarding world myself and consequently can't know every detail about it.

Also, new fields of magic that are barely mentioned or don't even exist in J.K. Rowling's story will be introduced and/or given a proper place in the wizarding world. Transfiguration will change a bit for exemple, but everything will be explained in the story.

Measurements will be in the International System of Units. In short, it will be in meters and grams BUT I will also put units in feet/miles and pounds in parenthesis (I find it seriously sad to not be able to enjoy or understand a story because the units used are confusing or unknown). Do know that I won't put extremely precise measurements in this story, except some characters' height and wand measurements. Some distances, beasts sizes and range of spells will be mentioned but they won't be really precise, just here to give you a rough idea of the situation.

I haven't planned any romance for the moment, maybe I write one, maybe not, since it's my first book, I will primarily focus on the story before I think about it. What I do know is that there won't be a harem, it doesn't fit my tastes and it doesn't fit this world.

In terms of word count : I love long stories, because I don't like to be invested in one that will end just a few minutes or hours later... so I hope to write a long story myself, but as I haven't ever written any novel, I can't guarantee anything, I will try to write something decent before considering its length. Quality before quantity !

One important thing to know is that I will write whenever I want : I have a life, this book is secondary.

I only chose to write a Fanfiction because I have read so much that I don't have anything left to read, and what is left is not to my tastes, either because of harems or because they are simply unreadable. So I thought : since it has come to this, why not write one myself ? So here we are !

Please don't hesitate to point out my mistakes and write constructive comments, that will be greatly appreciated ! I might also use some of your ideas if you suggest something really interesting in the comments, so don't hesitate if you have anything to say. (Worst i can say is "NO !", right ?)

Above all I hope you will enjoy this story, I am writing this Fanfiction for myself more than anything else but if it can offer a good time to some readers, it's even better !
