How to stop my idol group from disbanding C1
Sunlight streams through the cracks of a dirty window, illuminating the dust floating in the air inside an old building. Leaning against the dark hallway wall, Kang Moon wipes his lips with the back of his hand and looks up at the man in front of him.
The man’s strikingly handsome face, cold and emotionless like a classic ice prince, is now coated with a sticky layer of desire. The air between them is so intense that Kangmun’s spine tingles with tension, making him want to abandon everything, including his debut.
“So, you’re saying kissing is fine, then?”
The teasing lips, just about to touch his, finally press against him. Soft, moist lips parted, silently pleading to me to stick out my tongue. A deep thirst surges from within, forcing him to open his mouth in surrender.
“Mmh…”
As their tongues intertwine, Kanga Moon closes his eyes and thinks: How did I end up here? How did I end up in this place, locking lips with this man?
His memories drift back to a week ago.
Unexpected events always come without warning, and good fortune often demands a price. That was what happened to the Kang Moon on a particular bright and clear afternoon.
“Holy—no way…!”
He was playing a gacha idol-training game on the side of the street when he drew an SSS-ranked favourite character card that he desperately wanted.
This was the card that had driven the game’s community into chaos. Some players get it from a free pull, while others spend hundreds of dollars without even glimpsing it. With breathtaking artwork and top-tier stats, it was a legendary card, one that even non-fans covet. This card will forever be remembered in the history of the game ‘Crevasse’, as it instantly captured the hearts of even those who weren’t fan of the characters, thanks to its legendary illustrations and abilities!
“No freaking way! Damn, this is amazing!”
Kangmun had spent a small fortune chasing rare cards. This time, however, he has sworn not to give in to the developers’ money-grabbing schemes. He can’t afford to go over budget.
Yet, with just a single free summon, he has struck gold.
Kang Moon who was walking stops dead in his tracks, hands shaking as he frantically takes screenshots. His grin stretches wide as he thinks about how to rub this in on the community forums.
Memories of all the times he had forced himself to ignore the community posts with the feeling of a fox rationalizing by saying , “These grapes are sour”. Those days flash through his mind like a movie reel.
Kant Moon racked his brain to figure out how to write more impressive ways to get better results. He was too excited to think of the jealous fan in the comments that he was on cloud nine.
“Hey,Watch out!”
Maybe that’s why I didn’t notice a car, recklessly swerving onto the sidewalk, sped straight toward him. Before he can even comprehend what is happening, everything goes dark. The blaring horns, the frantic shouts, and the dazzling headlights—all fade away into silence
Normally, his reflexes would kick in before he even processes the danger. But that time, he was too distracted.
“Student! Wake up! Student!
“Hey! Someone call 119!”
“Oh my god, is he okay…?”.
Before he could even process the fact that he had been hit by a car, his vision blurred first. The glaring headlights, shining brightly in the middle of the day, distorted his already hazy sight.
The murmuring voices of the crowd around him gradually faded, as if sinking into water, until everything went dark. It feels peaceful, like slipping into a deep, quiet sleep.
Ah… I was supposed to show off my card.
Even in that moment, Kang Moon’s mind was filled only with the SSS-grade card he had miraculously pulled just moments ago. Completely unaware that it had just become the price of his life.
“Uhm…”
Kangmun is not sure how long it has been since he slept like that, but when he wakes up, he feels incredibly refreshed.
“What was I doing?”
As Kang Moon traced his memories, he finally reached the last scene before he closed his eyes.
The unsettling sound of an engine roaring nearby, honking from all directions, a desperate voice from an unfamiliar man, the murmuring filled with shock and the headlights were so bright they made his head spin.
“…Gasp!”
Sitting upright in bed in shock, Kang Moon frantically ran his hands over his body. He had momentarily forgotten, but there is no pain anywhere. Yet, if his memories weren’t wrong, he should be in a hospital right now.
If not, then he has just experienced an unbelievably realistic dream.
“This is weird… I definitely got hit by a car…”
He keeps running his hands over his body and looking around his surroundings, but there is no pain, nor the cold, sterile atmosphere of a hospital. No matter how he moves, there isn’t even a hint of discomfort from a traffic accident—in fact, his body feels surprisingly light.
“But… What is this place?”
A belated sense of unease crept in, and Kang Moon’s eyes darted around anxiously. No matter how he look at it, this isn’t his home. He didn’t even drink alcohol, so there was no chance he had blacked out and ended up somewhere unfamiliar. This situation is beyond strange.
At times like this, the best approach is the classic one. To confirm whether he is still dreaming, Kang Moon pinches his cheek hard.
“…Ow!”
A sharp pain flared in the pinched area, and heat rose under his skin. This isn’t a dream. This is reality.
Then… where am I now?
The room is small but clean, and it doesn’t seem very old. A heavy silence filled the space, his thoughts momentarily freezing from sheer confusion.
“…”
After a brief moment of silence, Kang Moon made a decision, he needed to get out. Without hesitation, he jumped off the bed and headed straight for the door. It’s common sense that doors are normally locked from the inside, so he assumed it would open easily.
But then…
“What the hell?”
The doorknob didn’t even make a clicking sound. It’s as if the door isn’t real—just a decoration. A creeping sense of dread filled him. What if there is nothing but a wall beyond this door?
“Hello? Is anyone out there?”
He twisted the unmoving doorknob over and over, then resorted to pounding on the door with his fist. But all he got in return was pain in his hand—no response at all. As his initial panic subsided, fear quickly took over its place. His hands started trembling for an entirely different reason now. Cold sweat trickled down his temple.
“Shit… Why the hell is this happening…?”
Ding!♫
Just as he collapsed onto the floor in despair, a cheerful notification sound rang out from nowhere. He lifted his head from where it had drooped, only to see a semi-transparent screen floating before his eyes.
Letter by letter, a message appears on the screen with the rhythmic tapping of invisible keystrokes.
You are currently preparing to debut with a member of W.A.IN. The concept of your milestone first album is ‘Delinquent.’
“…What?”
The brighter the floating screen glowed, the more the colors around him faded. Before he knew it, the only things in the narrow room that retain their color are himself and the screen that has suddenly appeared.
The future of the group is in your hands. Do you wish to maintain this concept?
[Yes] [No]
“…What kind of bullshit is this?”
Waking up in a completely unfamiliar place was already baffling enough, but now there is a choice window straight out of a video game hovering in front of him. The absurdity of it all is starting to feel downright irritating.
…Wait. A game?
“W.A.IN… I feel like I’ve heard that name before… Wait, no way…”
A sudden, vivid image flashes through Kang Moon’s mind.
“Well… I guess it’s because I’ve already experienced failure once before…”
The protagonist of the game, Kang Moon, was so obsessively devoted, to the point that his friends would sarcastically tell him to “just go live inside the game”—and his favorite character. A nostalgic scene passed by with an awkward smile. And in the corner of that memory, the group’s name was vividly imprinted.
“No way…”
Kang Moon let out a hollow laugh, forcibly denying the possibility of the absurd hypothesis that had surfaced in his mind without him even realizing it. Sure, a lot of ridiculous things had happened in the short time since he had woken up in this room, but this is beyond absurd.
I’m not some movie or game protagonist. How could such a sudden possession even make sense?
However, despite his rational thinking, his heartbeat sped up uncontrollably as he swallowed nervously. Slowly pushing himself up from where he had collapsed, he scanned the surroundings once again. In the corner of a cluttered desk, where a messy pile of printed A4 sheet music is scattered, lay a small mirror.
His sticky footsteps, still slightly adhering to the floor, carried him toward the desk. The mirror, lying face-up, is covered in a fine layer of dust. Kang Moon reached out, picked it up, and tightly shut his eyes.
Just checking. Just once.
It’s a mirror he saw multiple times a day, yet strangely, tension coiled in his chest. Sweat has already begun to dampen his palms.
“Haah…”
Taking a deep breath, he slowly opened his eyes. The dust on the mirror blurred the reflection, so he wiped it with his sleeve and opened his eyes wider. The face staring back at him in the mirror locked eyes with him.
But… it isn’t the face that is supposed to be there.
“Aaaagh!”
Startled out of his wits, he let go of the mirror, which plummeted to the floor. A dull thud echoes through the room, but when he looks down, the reflective surface is still intact, facing upward without any cracks.
But the mirror isn’t the issue.
His eyes widened in shock, blinking rapidly. He placed his hands on the floor, leaned forward, and peered into the mirror again. No matter how many times he checked, the face reflected back at him didn’t change.
“Why…?”
The unfamiliar yet oddly familiar face in the mirror furrowed its brows.
Because the person staring back at him is not Kang Moon, the 25-
year-old living in reality.
It’s Kang Moon, the protagonist of the game Crevasse.
