Chapter 184: Chapter 184: Madara: It’s Not Kamui, It’s Izanagi
"Oh dear~ I think I ran a little too far." Otsutsuki Urashiki looked down with a smug smile. "Something seems to be pulling me here. This feeling… it's a little familiar~"
His tone was as mocking as ever.
But just as he was speaking, a strange chakra suddenly appeared from behind him. He instinctively turned around.
A figure was now standing in what had been empty space. A black cloak with red clouds draped over him, and a strange spiral-patterned mask covered his face, hiding his expression.
It was Uchiha Madara!
"Byakugan?" Madara frowned.
His exposed Sharingan spun slightly as a strange look flashed in his eyes. "Such powerful chakra… and those Byakugan. Who are you? Since when did the Hyuga clan produce someone this dangerous?"
"Oh~" Urashiki rested his fishing rod on his shoulder and smirked. "How rude of me. I'm Otsutsuki Urashiki, you lowly creature. Mind telling me where this place is?"
He pointed at his temple and sighed, looking slightly annoyed. "I think I might be a little lost."
Then, his expression suddenly turned cold. "Also, could you stop radiating killing intent at me? It's making me want to kill you."
Madara stared at him blankly.
This was the border of the Land of Rain, an area not covered by Nagato's Rain Jutsu. The surroundings were all rocky terrain.
Leaving aside why such a dangerous person was here, just the chakra he was giving off was enough to put Madara on high alert.
This guy might be tougher to deal with than expected.
But… Otsutsuki? That name… could it be…?
Madara thought for a while but remained silent, simply watching Urashiki.
Urashiki wasn't impatient by nature, but being stared at by a "lowly creature" like this instantly irritated him.
His face darkened. With a flick of his right hand, he swung his fishing rod at Madara.
In the next instant, a fishing line shot out from the tip of the rod at an incomprehensible speed, aiming straight for Madara.
Madara's expression sharpened. He raised his right hand, and a thick tree branch extended from his sleeve, clashing with the fishing hook.
The next second, the trees shattered completely.
Madara frowned and instinctively twisted his body to dodge the attack. Landing on the other side, he looked at Urashiki with curiosity in his eyes.
Urashiki retracted his fishing rod, that sly smile appearing on his face once again.
"Looks like you have some interesting power."
The life force in Wood Release made Urashiki a little jealous. He loved collecting interesting things.
This thing is mine now!
Without giving Madara any time to react, Urashiki launched another attack.
Madara coldly stared at Urashiki and let out a sneer. "Hmph. An enemy, huh? I don't care who you are—you're dead."
He stretched out his right hand, and a wooden staff about a meter long grew from his palm. His body tensed slightly as he used the staff to deflect the incoming fishing hook. The next moment, he shot forward toward Urashiki.
Since he couldn't block it head-on, he would just redirect the force. Any ninja knew this kind of technique.
Urashiki watched Madara charging at him, his smile widening. He swung his fishing rod again. "It's useless!"
This fishing rod wasn't something that could be avoided so easily.
As Urashiki swung it, the fishing hook that had originally missed suddenly changed direction mid-air and shot straight toward Madara's unguarded back! At such close range, even Madara found it difficult to dodge.
But… dodging wasn't necessary.
Madara's eyes remained cold as ever. He completely ignored the attack coming from behind and gripped his wooden staff tightly, lunging straight at Urashiki.
The next second, the fishing hook pierced through Madara's back and shot out of his chest.
Seeing this, Urashiki's grin grew even wider. "I'll be taking your power now!"
He gave the fishing rod a strong pull, reeling in the hook and line. His face was full of satisfaction as he looked at the hook.
Madara? He didn't care. Anyone hit by this Ninja Tool would instantly lose all ability to move, and he would gain their chakra and powers. This had happened countless times before.
This time would be no different…
At least, that was how it was supposed to be.
Urashiki's expression suddenly changed when he saw the empty fishing hook. A blue light flickered in his eyes, and the next second, a pair of glowing blue Rinnegan appeared.
But it was too late!
Madara appeared right in front of Urashiki, gripping his wooden staff tightly. With a powerful thrust, the staff pierced through Urashiki's body.
The technique of Spontaneous Trees activated, spreading through Urashiki's chakra. In an instant, vivid red tree branches burst from within his body.
A crimson glow flashed, and several blood-red paper cranes fluttered in the air before disappearing with the wind.
Madara landed on the ground, his gray Sharingan spinning in his eyes. He glanced at his staff, which had failed to complete its technique, and narrowed his eyes slightly.
Turning his head, he looked toward the spot behind him, his voice carrying a hint of doubt. "I'm sure I hit you. So why didn't my technique activate?"
"No… that's not it. It did activate." Madara shook his head, correcting himself. His gaze toward Urashiki turned dangerous. "At that moment, the activation of my technique was reversed. That's why your body still has the wounds I inflicted."
In the distance, Urashiki's face looked grim. He clutched his chest where he had been struck, fresh blood slowly trickling from the wound.
"A mere lower creature… don't get ahead of yourself!" Urashiki's expression twisted in rage. He swung his fishing rod, and the fishing line split into countless hooks, spreading in every direction. There was no way to avoid them.
Madara didn't try to dodge. He just stood there, watching Urashiki, letting that overwhelming power pass through his body.
He spoke as if talking to himself. "Even if my technique was reversed, your body still can't recover. I've never seen an ability like this before. If used correctly, it could be an incredibly powerful force… Is it a Kekkei Genkai?"
"No, there's never been a Kekkei Genkai like this in the ninja world. Your power… it's a secret technique, isn't it? In that moment, I saw a strange glow in your eyes. I couldn't see it clearly, but I'm sure your power comes from them."
Urashiki looked at Madara with an ugly expression. Knowing he couldn't harm him, he stopped his attack. "Inferior creature, your power is quite troublesome."
"Have you realized the difference between us now?" Madara spoke slowly. "Since that's the case, why not join me? I can help you refine your power, make you even stronger. Besides that, you can do whatever you want…"
"Don't get the wrong idea, inferior creature." Urashiki sneered at Madara. "Creatures like you don't deserve to have me join them. In fact, your power is quite interesting. Give it to me, and I promise I won't kill you. Sounds like a great deal, doesn't it?"
Madara silently stared at Urashiki. That smug expression… it was a bit familiar.
But… what a shame.
"I thought you'd be a little smarter," Madara said as killing intent rose around him.
(When I started writing this, I was thinking of Obito. But then my brain froze—wait, at this time, Obito should still be in the academy, right? Kakashi isn't even a Jonin yet. Minato brought Kakashi on this mission to help him gain experience in A-rank missions, which is required for becoming a Jonin. Damn, I wrote all this for nothing!)
