Chapter 29: Return of the Ghost
Later that night after confirming that liz was asllep Landon left the penthouse in a rush. He rode his black BMW F800GS Adventure motorcycle through the night, the wind rushing past him as he navigated the winding roads. He was dressed in all black, his sports bag slung over his shoulder, and a determined look on his face. He had been waiting for this moment for a long time, and finally, he had received the call from Jackie, the private investigator he had called earlier.
According to Jackie, Noah was hiding at a cabin near Montreal, a location that had somehow evaded the police. Landon had instructed Jackie to wait for him there, and 16 mimutes later as he rode his motorcycle, he could see Jackie's car parked in the distance.
Landon slowed down his bike, pulling over to the side of the road. He took a moment to observe the surroundings, making sure he wasn't walking into any traps. Satisfied that everything seemed quiet, he pulled out his phone and sent a text to Jackie, "I'm here. Let's get this done."
With a deep breath, Landon revved up his motorcycle and rode towards Jackie's car, his eyes fixed on the cabin in the distance, where Noah was hiding. The game was on.As Landon pulled up to Jackie's car, he flickered his bike's lights to signal Jackie to come over. Jackie, anticipating Landon's arrival, had already gotten out of his car, his gun discreetly tucked into his waistband. He walked towards Landon, his eyes scanning the surroundings, ensuring they were secure.
"So, I'm guessing you're the client?" Jackie asked, his voice low and professional, as he approached Landon.
Landon nodded, his eyes locked on the cabin in the distance. "That's right. And I assume you've confirmed Noah's presence?"
Jackie nodded, his expression serious. "Yes, I've confirmed. He's been hiding out here for weeks. The cabin's owned by a friend of his father's, which is why the police haven't found him yet."
Landon's gaze narrowed, his jaw clenched in determination. "Good work, Jackie. Now, let's get down to business. I want to know everything about the cabin's layout, security, and any potential escape routes."
Jackie pulled out a small notebook from his pocket and flipped through the pages, stopping at a detailed sketch of the cabin's layout. "Alright, let's get down to business. The cabin's got a simple layout. One entrance, one exit, and a loft area upstairs. There's a small kitchen, living room, and a bathroom downstairs."
Landon's eyes scanned the sketch, his mind already planning the approach. "What about security? Any cameras, alarms?"
Jackie shook his head. "None that I've detected. The cabin's pretty remote, and the owner doesn't seem to have taken any extra precautions. But we do have a potential issue - there's a back door that leads into the woods. It's not locked, and it's a possible escape route for Noah."
Landon's gaze locked onto the sketch, his eyes tracing the potential escape route. "We'll need to cover that. What about Noah's daily routine? Any patterns?"
Jackie nodded. "He's been keeping a low profile, but I've managed to gather some intel. He usually stays inside during the day, but he takes a walk in the woods around dusk. Always alone."
Landon's eyes narrowed, a plan beginning to form in his mind. "Alright, here's what we'll do..."
Jackie's expression turned serious as he tucked the notebook back into his pocket. "Alright, I'll cover the back door. But before we proceed, I need to know that my payment is secure."
Landon's gaze never wavered from the cabin as he replied, "You'll get your payment once I've taken care of Noah. Not a moment sooner."
Jackie's eyes narrowed slightly, but he nodded in understanding. "Fair enough. Let's get this done."
With that, Landon started walking towards the cabin, his eyes fixed intently on the structure. Jackie fell into step beside him, his hand resting on the gun in his waistband.
As they approached the cabin, Landon's pace slowed, his senses on high alert. He motioned to Jackie to take position at the back door, and Jackie nodded, moving stealthily into the darkness.
Landon took a deep breath, his heart pounding with anticipation. It was time to finally settle the score with Noah. As he expertly picked the lock on the front door and slipped inside, his eyes adjusting to the dim light within. The cabin was quiet, except for the sound of heavy breathing and snoring coming from the sofa. Landon's gaze fell upon Noah, passed out drunk, a bottle of whiskey lying empty on the floor beside him.
A cold smile spread across Landon's face as he approached Noah. For a moment, he considered making this quick and painless, maybe even burning the cabin to the ground with Noah inside. But then his expression twisted into a manic grin. "Ghost wouldn't take it easy on a guy who pissed him off," Landon muttered to himself, his voice dripping with malice.
With a swift motion, Landon grabbed Noah by the shirt and hurled him to the ground. Noah's body landed with a thud, and he groggily opened his eyes, confused and disoriented. Landon stood over him, his eyes blazing with anger and hatred.
Noah's gaze slowly focused on Landon and . His eyes widened in fear as he scrambled backward, trying to get away from Landon. But Landon's grip on his shirt tightened, and he yanked Noah back, slamming him against the wall.
"You've been hiding from me for a long time, Noah," Landon sneered, his voice low and menacing. "But now, it's time to face the music."
Noah's face was pale, and his eyes darted wildly around the room, searching for an escape. But Landon's grip was like a vice, and he knew he was trapped.
Landon's smile grew wider, and he leaned in close, his breath hot against Noah's face. "You're going to regret the day you ever crossed me," he whispered, his voice dripping with malice.
Noah's eyes locked onto Landon's, filled with a mixture of fear and desperation. He knew he was in grave danger, and he didn't know if he'd make it out alive. "What the hell did I ever do to you? Huh?" Noah asked in fear
"To me? Well, you pissed me off. Not to mention you tried to stab me with a knife in the mall." Landon said
Noah still in fear yelled out. "What? I don't know you. And besides, the only person I tried to stab was..." at that moment it kicked in on who was the one infront of him. "Y~y~you're Landon? Aren't you?"
"Took you long enough." Landon said as he takes out a knife and stabbed Noah on his thigh.
Noah let's out a powerful scream as he pushes Landon off of him. "You bustard."he screams as swings a fist at Landon, who
dodged Noah's wild swing and countered with a swift kick. Noah stumbled back, but quickly regained his footing. He charged at Landon, who sidestepped and used Noah's momentum against him, sending him crashing into the wall.
Landon's eyes gleamed with determination as he circled around Noah, his movements fluid and calculated. With a sudden burst of speed, Landon lunged forward, seamlessly transitioning between various martial arts styles.
He continued with jujutsu, using his knowledge of grappling to take Noah down to the ground. Landon expertly wrapped his legs around Noah's, executing a series of swift takedowns that left Noah stumbling. Without warning, Landon shifted to karate, unleashing a flurry of precise punches and kicks that showcased his mastery of the martial art. His hands moved in swift, sharp motions, striking pressure points with calculated precision.
Next, Landon incorporated elements of Kung Fu, drawing upon the ancient art's emphasis on fluid movement and balance. He flowed like water, his footwork light and agile as he delivered a series of lightning-fast strikes. Finally, Landon adopted the stance of a boxer, his fists flying in swift combinations that Noah struggled to defend against. With each punch, Landon applied the principles of Western boxing, using his footwork and body rotation to generate powerful blows.
As Noah was beaten lifeless, Landon walks towards his body and grabs him by the hair to face him. "Don't give up just yet, okay? The funs just getting started" Landon whispered in Noah's ear, his breath hot against his skin.
