Chapter 128: The Unfilial Son
Because Qin Miao wasn't sure how long the red flag would last, and didn't want to sit in the car getting rained on.
Although the rainwater couldn't penetrate the hydrophobic layer of Qin Miao's racing suit, his neck was exposed, and some raindrops exploded on his arms, dripping onto his neck. Plus, it was quite cold today due to the rain, making the wet and cold sensation really uncomfortable.
So while the other F2 drivers kept their engines running, sitting in their cars waiting obediently, Qin Miao just got out of his car.
Naturally, Qin Miao's unconventional behavior attracted everyone's attention.
"Qin Miao's doing what? Got out of the car?"
Fei guessed, "Probably going to the bathroom or something."
Zhou Haoran explained, "During a red flag, you can indeed get out of the car; Leclerc often gets out during red flags to use the bathroom."
As the two commentators chatted, Qin Miao ran directly under the garage to hide from the rain.
When Sui Wentao and the others arrived, dragging tires, bringing equipment and umbrellas, they were puzzled to find Qin Miao's car had turned off. Where was Qin Miao? Damn, did I lose my driver?
Of course, they eventually spotted Qin Miao waving at them from under the nearby garage.
Originally, Zhou Guanyu, who was behind Qin Miao, intended to stay in his car until the race restarted, but couldn't help it; Qin Miao set a good example, so Zhou Guanyu also ran out of his car before his team arrived.
Then this scene unfolded at the F2 track: all other F2 drivers were obediently sitting in their cars, with team staff either busy around the cars or holding umbrellas for the drivers.
But the leading two drivers vanished, leaving behind two turned-off F2 cars, and two umbrellas sitting on the F2 car's platform, with team staff inspecting the vehicles.
The on-site photographer turned his camera and found under the repair area roof, Qin Miao and Zhou Guanyu, both wearing helmets, sitting side by side on a long iron box borrowed by a kind photographer to store photographic equipment.
Based on their movements, it wasn't difficult to tell they were chatting and seemed quite happy about it...
"Man, you have no idea about the water spray following you. Once we hit the main straight after T1, if I follow too closely, I seriously can't see a thing ahead," Zhou Guanyu was actually complaining to Qin Miao about the rain: "The water was directly pouring onto my visor and into the cockpit, and I felt like my car was ten pounds heavier at that moment."
Qin Miao raised an eyebrow, "Is it that serious?"
Zhou Guanyu rolled his eyes, "Why don't you try following behind me?"
"No need," Qin Miao promptly refused, "I'll stick to leading in front. Speaking of which, in such conditions with a car in front, do you think overtaking becomes much harder?"
Zhou Guanyu thought for a moment and answered seriously, "It's definitely harder than on a dry track, but if the car ahead feels pressured, it's also easier for them to make mistakes than on a dry surface."
Qin Miao reflected thoughtfully.
...
In the Five-Star Sports Studio, watching the two chatting cheerfully despite wearing different team uniforms, Bing couldn't help but remark, "The rapport between Qin and Xiaozhou is visibly strong!"
Fei chimed in, "After all, they're young, and I heard they both enjoy playing CSGO, so they naturally have more to talk about."
Zhou Haoran, sticking to his habit of speaking according to data and facts, shared information he had gathered recently with his colleagues and the audience watching the race: "In Qin Miao's recent Weibo photos, he and Zhou Guanyu have been gaming together frequently. Moreover, Zhou Guanyu has a dedicated room and a computer simulator set up for Qin Miao at his house in the UK."
[They're too adorable, aren't they?]
[A mutual endeavor, indeed]
[I really hope to see both of them in F1]
[They're such a lovely pair]
[Seeing them reminds me of my high school days]
[It's great to not grow apart due to different allegiances]
[I want such a friendship too]
...
The two of them sat on the box for about ten minutes, but the rain showed no sign of letting up. Although Qin Miao wasn't afraid of the cold, the rain and cold wind still made him feel chilly.
He turned to Sui Wentao and asked, "Old Sui, can you find out when the race is likely to resume?"
Sui Wentao did as requested and soon replied, "Frankie said it would be at least another 20 minutes before the rain might slow down."
Qin Miao responded promptly, "Then I'll go out for a bit."
Qin Miao then started walking towards the Ferrari garage. Being the current scoreboard leader, and considering Qin Miao's fondness for pulling off unexpected stunts, the director quickly focused on him.
The audience watched as Qin Miao jogged to the entrance of the Ferrari garage.
Due to the rain, to prevent water droplets from entering, the Ferrari garage's shutter door was kept closed.
Qin Miao knocked on the shutter, spoke a few words, and surprisingly, the Ferrari shutter door opened.
Qin Miao bent down and went inside, and the shutter closed again afterward.
While everyone was puzzled, wondering what exactly Qin Miao was up to, the Ferrari garage's shutter door opened again two minutes later.
Qin Miao came out holding two cups of hot cocoa adorned with the Ferrari prancing horse logo.
So this is what being the Ferrari Crown Prince is all about? (tactical lean back)
