chapter 43
Episode 43
“How are you feeling, do you feel any better?”
He blinked his eyes in his cloaked form. He seemed to be reading a skill status window.
“I see your recovery buff has been temporarily increased to 100%, which is quite a skill.”
“You’re welcome…….”
I was flattered to receive a skill compliment from an S-class Hunter.
When I first met him, I thought he was hard and scary, but the more I got to know him, the kinder and gentler he was.
‘He’s not sleeping well, he’s not eating well, and if I were in that state, I’d be sharp and irritable.
The S-class Hunter’s personality was different from the rest of us.
“What do you think, do you feel a little tired? I know it’s unlikely that a mere C-class skill would work against Mr. Kang, but I wanted you to feel comfortable anyway.”
Hee-na squatted down next to the sleeping bag.
Kang jin-hyeon replied slowly.
“Okay……, Ms. Hee-na, you can lie down here with me…….”
“What? Lie down with what?”
He asked, momentarily doubting his ears, but Kang jin-hyeon silenced him for the last time.
“…… over there?”
“…….”
He was usually reticent, but he answered every question Hee-na asked. It was strange.
“Mr. Kang jin-hyeon?”
I called out his name, trying to recognize his face, when a system window popped up in front of me.
*The achievement of stunning an opponent whose stats are 500 times higher than yours.
*Notes: The achievement only counts the first time you do it.>
The words flashed in front of her eyes. It took her a few seconds to realize what was happening.
“Did I put Hunter Jinhyun Kang to bed?
Kang’s eyelids were already closed.
“Isn’t he just pretending to be asleep so that I can play along?
Hee-Na waved her hand in front of his eyes, but he showed no sign of opening them.
“Really?”
Hee-na was surprised and said out loud.
“Hmph. I’ve barely fallen asleep, I’ll wake you up.
But Kang jin-hyeon seemed to be so deeply asleep that he didn’t even hear her; his eyelids didn’t even flutter.
After testing him next to his sleeping bag for a while, Hee-Na was able to conclude that he was indeed asleep.
“I put an S-class hunter to sleep.”
Hee-Na looked down at her hands, which had done an amazing job.
Of course, she had put Choi Sang-hoon, an S-class Awakened, to sleep before. But his class was Appraiser, a non-combatant.
As a Hunter, he had the stats of a B-class Undergrounder. His stats were nowhere near those of an S-class Hunter.
‘He must be really tired. He’s not even moving.
Hee-na sat up and stared at the sleeping Kang jin-hyeon. It must have been about an hour since he fell asleep, but he remained in the same position as a corpse.
“He’ll be scared when it gets dark, so let’s wake him up at dusk.
I felt a little bad waking him up right away after his best sleep in years. There were no dangerous monsters here anyway, so there was no need for him to stay awake.
However, it would be spooky to be alone once the sun went down, so she decided to let him sleep until then.
Hee-Na spent her time studying Kang’s face as he slept. Luckily, he was handsome enough that she didn’t get tired of looking at him.
“If I wasn’t a hunter, I’d be a celebrity.”
I muttered, dusting myself off and getting up from my seat.
The sun was slowly setting. It was time to wake Jinhyun Kang.
“Mr. Kang.”
Hee-na gently patted the sleeping bag and called out Kang’s name.
“…….”
But he didn’t stir. Hee Na spoke a little louder.
“Mr. Kang, you need to get up, you’ve been sleeping for a long time.”
“…….”
Still, he remained groggy.
After that, Hee-Na tried everything she could to wake him up. She even rolled him on the floor and pinched his cheek.
But the man in the sleeping bag showed no signs of waking up.
“Isn’t he almost at home at this point?”
Hee-Na clicked her tongue. The S-class hunter who was supposed to be so alert was gone, and the sleeping forest hunter was left lying in his sleeping bag.
Gradually, her son-in-law grew darker.
“Ugh, I’m scared.
Hee-na rolled him over and placed him next to her.
She was a little scared to be alone. She didn’t believe in ghosts, but this was a dungeon. It wouldn’t be strange if something jumped out at her.
“Good thing I have a lot of battery left on my phone.
Hee-na turned on her phone’s screen to chase away the darkness.
Of course, there was no signal in the dungeon. It was strange to be in her house with free Wi-Fi.
“I wish I could go home, but it’s so far away.”
She sighed softly. Using her skill, she looked at the map and realized that the front door of her house was far away from where the boss monster was.
If only I could make the front door as flexible as I could outside the dungeon. It’s too bad you can’t do that inside the dungeon.
“Maybe it’s because there’s land inside the dungeon?
She wasn’t sure exactly how it worked, but she thought it had something to do with having a house inside the dungeon.
As she thought about this, time passed quickly.
In the meantime, Hee-na had shaken Kang jin-hyeon over a hundred times, and he still hadn’t woken up.
“Is he dead?
Anxiously, I put my finger under his nose, but he was still breathing. He was asleep, just not waking up.
“Oh, what should I do?”
The dark sky was gradually brightening. Hee-na didn’t know what to do, so she desperately woke up Kang jin-hyeon.
She even tried grabbing him by the jaw and slapping his cheeks.
But the S-class body was so strong that there was no trace of the slap. Only his hands were bright red.
“Mr. Kang jin-hyeon, please wake up, please wake up!”
Hee-na screamed and shook the sleeping bag off of him. The sun was rising, and it was time for the monsters to get active.
The amazing buds spread out like petals. It was the mushroom cap.
The floor shook slightly with each wriggle of the great mushroom pillar. The mushrooms tasted like porridge as they nestled beneath the boss monster.
“Ugh, what the hell!
The floor was shaking like an earthquake, Kang jin-hyeon was unbreakable, the slowly expanding mushroom cap was disgusting, and Hee Na didn’t even have a weapon to fight the monster.
Everything was terrible.
Pooh-pooh.
It was at that moment that the mushroom spewed out its spores.
The amount of spores was so great that the blue sky instantly turned black. The spores clustered together like a swarm of bees, forming a grayish shape.
“Hand-shaped?
The shape wasn’t clear, but the spores clustered together in black, forming a giant hand.
Hee-na looked up at the scene, clutching the sleeping bag containing Kang jin-hyeon.
“What’s going on?
But with no knowledge of the dungeon, she had no way of knowing.
I’m crazy, I’m crazy, I’m crazy!
Hee-na cursed her past self for being so unreasonable. She also cursed Kang jin-hyeon for not waking up.
He said he couldn’t fall asleep easily because he was sensitive to disturbances, but he was a liar.
‘You’re a sleeper who doesn’t wake up even when you get slapped!
Gooooooooo.
Suddenly, an uneasy vibration rang through the air. Hee-Na tensed and watched the giant hand of spores.
Shoooooooo!
The giant hand seemed to float in the air for a moment, then slammed down to the ground. It was pointed in the direction of Hee-Na and Kang jin-hyeon.
With a heavy thud, the giant hand withdrew, leaving a palm print on the ground. There was a dent where the palm had touched.
“Lord, I almost died!
Meanwhile, Hee-na was shivering and rolling on the ground with Kang jin-hyeon in her sleeping bag.
She saw a giant hand coming down and frantically dodged it, narrowly missing it. If she had moved 10 centimeters less, she would have been dead.
Boo-boo-boo!
The giant palm didn’t stop. It swung its hand relentlessly toward Hee-na and Kang jin-hyeon as if it were trying to catch an insect.
The only good thing was that the hand wasn’t very fast. Hee-na dragged Kang’s sleeping bag around, dodging the palm and slapping the floor.
“Hmph, hmph, hmph, hmph…….”
He exhaled. She rolled over and over until her whole body ached.
Her breath tasted sweet in her mouth, but she couldn’t stop moving because she had to survive. I couldn’t even cry because I had to survive.
‘How can you last an hour?
Kang jin-hyeon told her she only had to hold on for an hour, and in an hour, the giant hand and the disgusting mushroom hats would be gone.
But for Hee-na, an hour was an long time.
Even now, it was. Less than five minutes had passed, and she was already reaching her limit.
With her stats and stamina, she couldn’t run around a grown man for an hour without stopping to rest.
“Ow!”
To make matters worse, her unstretched leg twisted and she fell.
“Ugh, what can I do!”
Hee-na cried out as she hugged the sleeping Kang jin-hyeon.
There was no more strength in her body. She couldn’t move. At this rate, Hee-na and Kang jin-hyeon would end up like two bodies pressed together.
Finally, tears burst out of her eyes. It was so unfair to die like this.
‘If I had a weapon, I wouldn’t have died in vain like this!
