chapter 38
Episode 38
“They need gems to restore power?”
I was laughing hysterically when Hee-won asked me. Hee-Na sighed and answered.
“Yes. But the gemstone can only restore power temporarily. It needs a piece of the space we used before to be completely repaired.”
“That’s a dungeon byproduct. Neither of us are combatants, so how are we going to get it?”
“Exactly!”
While they were still debating what to do next, the off-white color crawled in between them.
“Not enough power. Pity.”
He looked a little dejected, his antennae drooping.
“You tried your best, but it didn’t work out. If you can’t fix it at home, you have to hire a private contractor, but the problem is that they run their business like a bandit.”
Hee-Na stared at the air. The system was out of control.
“We can’t live in a house with the lights off forever. Should we abandon this house and leave?”
Hee-won looked around the darkened house.
It was hard to see in the darkness, but Hee-na’s careful touch had made it clean and comfortable.
‘It was pretty nice…….’
Hee-na was the one who felt the most disappointed.
From a dirty one-room house to a sparkling two-room house, Hee-na’s hard work went into the house. The events that had happened in the meantime flashed through her mind like a flashlight.
“♨♤♠Attention! Attention!♧♣♨”
Meanwhile, Oh Sae-yi’s loud special characters jolted Hee-na out of her reminiscing.
“What’s wrong, Oh Sack?”
Hee-Na shined her cell phone flashlight on the snail.
The snail was cowering, both antennae erect.
“I found a solution.”
“Really?”
The brothers flattened themselves to look at him. Pride oozed from his stiff antennae.
“What? What can I do? Is there another way?”
“Landlord’s lunch box.”
“What do you mean, lunch box?”
“Supply and demand.”
The snail knew it all, and when it realized that two pairs of eyes were facing it, it continued the string.
“A
Bento
Gemstone
Landlord
Supply available
In demand
Kang jin-hyeon
In demand
Available
”
Hee-na let out an “ah” at the table that appeared out of thin air, and then carefully interpreted it.
“I can supply lunch boxes and need magic stones, and Kang jin-hyeon needs lunch boxes and can supply magic stones?”
He clapped his antennae together as if clapping his hands.
“Uh. Lunch ↔ magic stones. Barter is possible.”
“Expect a satisfactory trade.”
Hee-won’s face lit up at the logical explanation.
“Oh. That’s a good idea. Kang jin-hyeon said he could give us up to 10 million won for a single lunch box. We can ask him for magic stones instead of money for now!”
“Wouldn’t it be better to use the money to buy a new house?”
Hee-na made a good point, and the excitedly chattering Five Colors spoke up.
“Oh Sack, I’m shocked by the landlord’s harshness!”
“Are we going to break up like this?”
Hui Na shook her head vigorously.
“Of course, you’re coming with me, Wu Xiaoxi, how could I leave you here alone?”
Even though they had known each other for months, they had grown close. I couldn’t leave him like this.
However, he had a different opinion.
“This snail is the housing manager. They don’t leave the house voluntarily.”
He insisted that since he was the house manager of Home Sweet Home, he could never leave.
Hee-na tried to convince him for a while, but it didn’t work.
“Strongly rejected the landlord’s proposal!”
Perhaps it was no wonder that she didn’t want to leave since she was like the house fairy of the house.
“Ugh. What should I do? I don’t feel comfortable leaving him behind.
Hee-na put her head in her hands and thought. Hee-won watched her silently and gave her advice.
“If you’re not sure, let’s just scream.”
“What?”
“Let’s just use the gemstone to fix the electricity, and then we’ll think about it. You said you have a 45 Luck stat, so there’s got to be a way.”
It would be nice to be able to buy a house outside of the dungeon, but if they didn’t want to leave him behind, they’d have to stay here for a while and try to convince him to leave or kidnap him, and then they could decide.
“It’ll cost some magic stones, but……. We can’t stay in the dark right now, what do you think, Hee-Na?”
Hee-won, unlike her brother, who was more of a wallflower, sometimes tended to go out like this, which was probably why she was able to work as a hunter even though she was a rank D farmer.
“Well, do you think so?”
Hee-Na was torn, but eventually decided to go along with her brother’s wishes. After all, she couldn’t leave him behind right now.
He was her family.
She wouldn’t leave her family behind.

After work, Hee-na stood in front of Kang jin-hyeon’s private office and sighed.
‘Phew. How did she get the word out?’
Her heart raced at the thought of negotiating with Kang jin-hyeon.
Even though he had offered her a large sum of money for her lunch box, she was embarrassed to bring it up.
The idea of exchanging an ordinary handmade lunch box for millions or even tens of millions of gems seemed quite unreasonable.
‘Even if it’s embarrassing, think of Oksai!’
Hee-na fisted her fists, thinking of her rabbit-like brother and fox-like snail waiting for her at home.
Last night’s power outage had been fixed with Hee-na’s gemstone. But it was only a stopgap measure. A gem the size of a fingernail could only last three days.
New gems were constantly needed to keep Hee-na’s Home Sweet Home running normally.
“……or I’ll just stumble across another piece of space.
As she simulated her next words in her head, her office door suddenly flew open.
“Surprise!”
Hee-Na jumped in place.
“Ms. Hee-Na.”
Now accustomed to Hee-na’s surprise whenever he appeared, Kang didn’t panic. Instead, he beckoned to her.
“You’ve been standing at the door and haven’t come in for a while.”
“Uh, how did you know?”
“I can feel your presence.”
“Oh.”
Hee-Na turned to face Kang jin-hyeon, feeling a little nervous.
“What brings you to me?”
Hee-na pursed her lips for a moment before she spoke up.
“Well, you know, the lunch box you mentioned.”
“I remember. I suggested it at lunch yesterday. Have you made a decision?”
Hee-na nodded. Kang’s eyes flashed like a beast upon seeing its prey.
“And your answer?”
“I’ll do it.”
In response to Hee-na’s answer, Kang’s tightly set jaw softened into a gentle arc. The atmosphere that had been tense like a tightened string was instantly softened.
For a moment, Hee-na thought, “Is it possible for a person to change like this over a meal?
“You’re right.”
Hee-na swallowed hard and cut to the chase.
“Now, I’d like to talk about the price of the lunch box…….”
“I can give you any amount. One thousand or two thousand, just tell me.”
As my brother said, maybe a few thousand won didn’t feel like money to an S-class Hunter. Kang jin-hyeon said 10 million won and 20 million won as easily as if they were 1,000 won and 2,000 won.
He lived in a completely different world from Hee-na, who meticulously compared every gram of food she bought.
“Well, I don’t want to pay for the lunch box with money, but with goods.”
“What is it? I can get you anything that’s within my reach.”
“Magic stones.”
As soon as he said it, a fist-sized gemstone appeared in Kang jin-hyeon’s hand. It was as if he had taken it out of his inventory.
“Is this enough for one meal?”
A fist-sized gemstone could cost anywhere from tens of millions of won to billions of won depending on its purity, and the one Kang jin-hyeon took out was extremely transparent in color.
This meant that it was a high-grade magic stone of high purity. Such a gemstone could only be obtained by killing at least an A-class monster.
Hee-na broke out in a cold sweat.
“It doesn’t have to be that big, even if it’s just a piece of your fingernail, it’s worth a lot…….”
She didn’t even feel greedy in front of something so valuable. I felt overwhelmed.
“It’s not that big, or do you want me to show you a bigger gemstone, maybe you’ll change your mind.”
Hee-na shook her head at Kang jin-hyeon’s threat.
“Then I’ll take that one!”
“Good.”
Kang jin-hyeon smiled with satisfaction and handed the gem to Hee Na.
A thousand things passed through her mind in an instant that she could have done with the gem, but she shook them off as she thought of Oh Sae-yi’s round head.
“Family comes before money.
Instead, the first thing she did upon receiving the gem was to check the amount of electricity it could use through the system window.
“Huh.
The number of days was staggering. Unlike the gemstone that barely lasted three days, this one could power the house for eight months.
That meant we had at least another eight months to find a way.
