House of The Dragon-A God Amongst Men

Chapter 82: The Nature of A Calamity II

(Third Person POV)

[A Village On The Coast of Essos, Near Bravoos]

"I saw it, I really did! A dragon!" a young boy exclaimed as his father was rummaging through a sack, "It was so big, it flew through the clouds over the hills!!"

The boy's father was frowning, "A Dragon?" He said, "Don't be ridiculous. The Targaryens don't fly to Bravoos by this time."

"But isn't there wild dragons somewhere about?" the boy asked

"If there is, they won't fly over here." He said, "You must be imagining things."

"I am not!" the boy said, "I really saw a dragon!"

The village consisted of a few buildings that were scattered about in the dry land that were near some rocky hills. It was one of the few villages that were in a road that led to the main city of Bravoos. They occasionally get visitors which consist of merchants who travel to Bravoos.

Not a lot of things happened in this particular village as it was mostly peaceful that rely on hunting and farming to survive.

The Village Leader was in the middle of the square that day, speaking to the others about what a certain Merchant had told them a few days before.

The boy's father walked up to the group as his boy followed, an excited grin on his face.

"Apparently, the Sealord will travel to King's Landing in Westeros to deal with the King." the Village Leader said, "Not only that, he intends to travel further inwards to the Riverlands and deal with this new house that has appeared out of nowhere."

"Oh, is that so?" a man asked, "That is interesting."

"Yes. King Jaehaerys is going to negotiate an alliance, to get more power to their fleet." He said, "The Sealord wants the power of Dragons, it seems."

"I wonder what that will entail." a woman said, "Times are changing. I heard that the Dragons have been uneasy as of late."

"How did you hear that?" a man asked her

"Well, for the past few years, ever since a certain star fell from the sky, the folk over at King's Landing noticed that the dragons have acted strange." she said, "It must have been some omen."

"Pure rumors." the leader said, "Dragons are the fiercest of creatures."

"I saw one!" The boy said

"Enough." the boy's father said, "Leader, I brought the items you've asked for."

"Place the sack there." the leader pointed at the top of a wooden crate, "What is it you've said, boy? You saw what?"

"A dragon!" He said, "It flew through the clouds and over the hills, I swear it."

"The boy is imagining things." the father said as he placed the sack on the crate, "He saw no dragon."

"I swear I heard loud flapping and a strange growl earlier." Another man said, "Maybe he is right."

"A dragon? Here?" the leader said, "Do you think one of the Targaryen Princes has grown curious and decided to fly to Essos?"

"We would have noticed the big one." the woman said, "But the red one? It could be small enough to sneak past."

"What color was the dragon, boy?" the leader asked

"Black." the boy said

"Black? The Targaryens don't have black dragons.....save for the Black Dread....but nobody has claimed that one.....at least that is what they say..." a man said

"I'm telling you, the boy is seeing things." the boy's father said

"Uh, Leader.....?" a woman said as she approached, "Do you know that man?"

Everyone looked at her and saw that she was pointing at someone who stood in the middle of the path leading to the square, menacingly looking down at the ground below.

The leader frowned and stood in front of the group, "No...." He said as he looked at him, "Who are you?"

The man lifted his gaze, his red eyes piercing through the leader, sending a chill down his spine.

"Who is that...?" a man asked

It was Drakken.

Drakken has, for some reason, flown on the Cannibal to this part of Essos.

"This is my first time stepping foot in this land." Drakken said with a monotone voice, "Essos, they call it."

The Leader narrowed his eyes, "And you are...? I asked you that question already!"

Drakken took a step forward as he closed his eyes, "How many people live here?" He asked, "No more than a hundred, it seems?"

The boy's father frowned, "I don't like the looks of this." He said as he grabbed the boy by his shoulder, "Leader, we should...."

Drakken opened his eyes and looked at them, "This is not personal."

The leader scowled, "What isn-"

A large swirling sound cut him off as a shockwave hit them.

In a split second, the entirety of the village was shredded completely; Drakken's cutting sorcery was used at a high output, completely obliterating everything within a hundred-meter radius. In two seconds that passed, there was nothing but dust and debris that fell from the sky as Drakken stood there.

He looked over at the boy that stood there, the dust cloud clearing as he looked at him with a shocked look.

"W-What?" the boy said as he stood there, frozen completely in fear and shock

Drakken had used his powers to keep the boy safe from harm. In that split second, Drakken had killed everyone but him.

Why?

Only he knows.

Drakken turned around and began to walk away, "Hm...." He said, "Nothing...."

The boy looked around, "F-Father....."

His knees trembled as he saw nothing but blood and pieces of flesh and bone all around him. Everything was destroyed, everyone was dead, only he remained.

"What....." He said as he collapsed to the ground

Drakken stopped walking as he glanced at the boy, "You are fortunate, boy." He said as the flapping of wings were heard, "You did indeed saw a dragon on this day."

The Cannibal descended from the clouds and landed hard next to Drakken as it growled deeply, glaring right at the boy.

The boy's eyes were full of tears, looking at Drakken, "What are you.....?"

Drakken didn't react, his face was neutral, a cold stare in his deep crimson eyes.

For a few seconds, Drakken merely stared at the boy, trying to wait if he felt any sort of emotional reaction from this.

"I am....." Drakken started as he began to walk up the Cannibal's wings, "A Calamity..."

"I am The End...."

[Harrenhal, A Few Days Later...]

"Mother...." Maegelle said as Queen Alysanne approached her, "You came after all. I figured since the Sealord will arrive at King's Landing, you would stay there."

Alysanne smiled, "I had no choice but to come and check in on you." She said as she patted her daughter's cheek, "I am glad that you are safe."

"Why would I not be?" Maegelle frowned

Alysanne looked to the side, seeing Mya Drakkengard sitting in a couch holding her belly as she looked at the queen with a sly smile.

"There has been an incident." The Queen said as she looked back at her, "In Essos, near Bravoos."

"What sort of incident?" Maegelle asked

"A village was destroyed." The Queen said, "A survivor....a boy.....he claims a man was there and killed everyone there. He says that there was a dragon present as well....but there was no flames."

Maegelle looked at her, "W-What?"

The queen nodded, "It was Drakken." She said, "He's the one who did that. He did something similar years ago in the Capital but it was a building. He used his powers to shred the place completely, it is identical."

"No, Mother...." Maegelle said, "That is impossible. Lord Drakken has not left Harrenhal in weeks."

Alysanne frowned, "what do you mean?"

"She is correct." Mya said, "Our Lord has been busy....if he's not working...he's slumbering.....he has not left Harrenhal in weeks like Maegelle said."

Alysanne looked at her, "It could be one of his tricks." She said, "Drakken is an elusive man. He is-"

"Right in your presence." a voice cut her off

Alysanne turned around so quickly that her hair nearly smacked Maegelle in the face, "Wha-"

Drakken walked up to the Queen, "What accusations are you throwing at me?" He said with a serious frown, "You dare come into my home and do such things?"

Alysanne looked at him, "Drakken..." She said, "There was a villa-"

"Jon told me." Drakken said as he walked past her and grabbed Maegelle's hand and pulled her up from her seat, "I don't give a shit about that. It wasn't me."

"Lord Drakken." Maegelle said as Drakken sat in her seat and sat her down in his lap

Alysanne saw this and narrowed her eyes, "You...."

Maegelle could not help but sit straight and look ahead, her cheeks slightly red.

"Maegelle and I have been getting along lately." Drakken said with a slight smirk, "What? Don't like what you see?"

"Stop teasing the Queen, My Lord." Mya chuckled, "She will think you have bedded the girl already."

Drakken held Maegelle by her waist, "It will happen." He said, "But when she wants it. And when she wants it badly."

Alysanne scowled, "Show her some respect."

"I do show her respect." Drakken said, "Anyways, Queen Alysanne, what do I owe the pleasure? I take it is more than your daughter that brings you here."

Alysanne nodded, "My Husband has taken notice of the Lannister's motives." He said, "He wants you to put an end to it."

Drakken chuckled, "Oh, is that so?" He said,

"No."
