Somia Marduk is one of the most famous members of the House of Marduk. She was a gifted genius, born in the middle of the 2nd Era, into a time of prosperity and peace, and into a time that many say was the Golden Era2First named such as at the start of the 4th Era.. As the 2nd Era had the least sightings of the Undead and made all the species, kingdoms, and empires prosper, it was the Era of Inventions. Many say it was truly started by her birth and her first invention, only at the age of 5. Her advancement in magic was slow, something that greatly troubled the Respected House, but nobody could find fault with her when her inventions were turned from lines on parchment into reality. By the age of 30, she was appointed as the Headmaster of the Institute of Eight Elements. From then on, she spent her life directing the Academy, setting down rules, customs, and traditions held up to this day. Her death came abruptly in the year 2E499, leaving behind an empty Headmaster position for the upcoming five years until a successor was finally appointed and accepted by all to be a worthy successor to Somia Marduk and her legacy.
Major Feats:
2E406 - Inventing self-sharpening pencils.3Somia's first invention at the age of 5.
2E412 - At the age of 11, Somia graduated from her studies, yet she was only at Tier 2 in magic.4She didn't go through her first tribulation until the age of 19.
2E414 - First prototype of the Somia-class warship sails out from one of the House of Marduk's shipyards.5It is unknown if she created it by herself or if it was a group effort. In the end, House Marduk named the ship after her, but only after her death.
2E415 - Somia Marduk visits the Institute of Eight Elements6Her visit lasted for one whole year, only surveying the classes and the work of the teachers.
2E422- The mages of the House of Marduk start wearing a new type of bracelet, capable of holding twice as many items as any holding bags of its time7Many think this is the prototype version of her Bracelet. It suggests she had the idea since a young age.
2E427 - A new magic canon surfaces and spreads amongst the Marduk warships, capable of rapid firing and precision strikes, even while the ships are moving at their maximum speed and altitude8Her time in the service of House Marduk suggests, she was made to create weapons and devices that are beneficial to the army of the Respected Hosue.
2E431 - Somia Marduk becomes the Headmaster of the Institute of Eight Elements9There are rumors that after this, her relationship with her peers soured. Only smoothed out after decades later. One thing is sure; The Marduk's military inventions halted afterward.
2E432 - 455 - Golden Period10There was a minimum of three inventions coming from her per year in this period. In 2E448, there were 22 new, never before seen artifacts created by her.
2E460 - Inventing the now iconic artifact of the Institute: The Bracelet.
2E461 - 477 - Silence of the Mind11In this timeframe, there were no new inventions, which gave way to many speculations.
2E478 - Inventing the No-Space Telescope12To this day, few really know about it. Your humble historian thinks this invention was even more important than her Bracelet, and the previous dry years were a leadup to its creation.
2E479 - 492 - Era of Discovery13In this time period, there were no years when an old, ancient artifact did not resurface inside the Institute. Not every one of them was irreplaceable; quite the opposite. Many were useless yet carried deep meanings about the days and years from the Dark Ages and before that.
2E499 - Fall of a Brilliant Mind14The unexpected and sudden death of Somia Marduk. Nobody knows its cause, not even today.
