Chapter 557: Escape

The fair fingers grabbed the key. Chun Niang couldn't wait to remove the golden lock. The sound of waves echoed in the room. Chun Niang's lower body started to mutate. The stench was overwhelming. Scales flew everywhere. It was horrifying.

"The wounds of my lower body will slowly recover in water. Elder Tang will soon know about this. You will escape with me." Chun Niang didn't forget about Gao Ming. She planned to bring him with her.

"How can we escape?"

"Through the water well in the backyard. Elder Tang didn't know about that place's secret, and only I could lead you there." Chun Niang's eyes glowed with hatred. Gao Ming hesitated. If he were to follow her into the water, his life would fully be in Chun Niang's hands.

"Why? Do you not trust me?" Chun Niang's face became unreadable. There was a mixture of mockery and taunting. It didn't look like she was there to help.

"I trust you. We still need to work together to destroy Dream Break Town and take revenge for you." Gao Ming stressed the revenge. He had no other choice but to rely on Chun Niang. The golden lock fell to the ground. Elder Tang in the yard halted. The bloodshot eye in the birthday hall turned to look at the side yard.

"What are you waiting for? Let's go!"

The guests and Elder Tang's descendants were scared out of their wits. After the eyeball looked away from them, they scattered like headless chickens. They knew the giant mouth was on the wall, but there was no other way to escape. They could only pray that the mouth would go after the others and let them go.

The white paper on the windows and walls was torn apart. The guests thrashed the birthday hall. They lost their mind due to greed. They stepped on the invitations filled with fake blessings and carried loads of treasures on them.

Humans die for wealth. The rouge on the guests' faces burned like blood. They moved faster and faster as their minds spiralled out of control. As they planned to escape, their bodies started to tear open like paper. Elder Tang's treasures fell out of their wounds. Ever since the guests started to lust after the treasures, they became dishes at the party. Elder Tang never wanted these poor villagers' presents but their lives!

The blood vessels in the large eyeball crawled out of the pupil and pierced into the guests' bodies. Their bodies were instantly sucked dry. The wails didn't stop, but a few guests managed to run to the wall. Elder Tang's descendants defaced their own bodies to escape from the mansion. Their determination was stronger than that of the guests. As Elder Tang's blood relatives, they were familiar with Elder Tang's greed and madness. The old monster didn't care about blood ties. Everyone was his blood bank and sacrifice. To survive, they had to escape from this place!

The children ran in different directions. Zhang Mingli's evil spirits were mixed among them. Many of them had copied the secrets of the scrolls in the hidden room. Their goal was to hand them over to Zhang Mingli.

"My descendants are too good to me! What a bunch of ingrates!" Elder Tang's powerful and furious voice echoed through the mansion. "It was me who gave you the sanctuary from the ghosts and monsters. I gave you a home, and this is how you repay me?!"

The giant mouth on the wall chomped on a kid. It shredded the child without mercy. The birthday suit in the hidden room became brighter as if Elder Tang had regained another trace of his youth.

"Elder Tang's birthday celebration has started. We need to leave." Chun Niang's eyes dampened with seriousness. She might be tortured until her mental state was unstable, but she could still tell that if Gao Ming hadn't come to save him, she was another one of Elder Tang's food.

"To the backyard?" Gao Ming didn't see where on Chun Niang he could grab her. "After we jump into the well, shall I grab your fishtail?"

"Just hold my hand," Chun Niang rolled her eyes. She pulled back the curtains and drank the rest of the rainwater in the copper pot. Water flowed in her eyes. Before Gao Ming could react, Chun Niang grabbed her, and the curtains slammed into the door like waves!

The giant fishtail moved in the waves. The roof was lifted off. The shackles on her broke. The small wooden bed was instantly shattered. Tang Residence's Feng Shui and foundation shifted at that moment. Chun Niang glared at the birthday hall, but she knew she wasn't Elder Tang's match. She quickly swam towards the backyard.

The curtains undulated in the night sky like a falling galaxy. Half of the town could see this miraculous phenomenon.

"Follow her!" A few clever spirits tried to follow Chun Niang, but they didn't expect Chun Niang to pick a route that normal individuals couldn't use.

"Chun Niang!" Elder Tang howled loudly. His anger was at the maximum.

Chun Niang reached the backyard. She flipped over the well lid. The talismans around the well were ruined. This well was filled with corpses.

"What is this?" Even Gao Ming was shocked by the hell inside the well.

"This well contains Elder Tang's previous wives and missing villagers. In this town, Elder Tang's Tang Residence and Madam Xi's Xi Residence are scarier than ghost lairs. Not many can leave them alive." Chun Niang pulled Gao Ming close to her and jumped into the well. The air of resentment in the well was colder than water.

"Can your large tail fit through here?" The mouth of the well was narrow. Chun Niang's tail would be stuck. This was probably why Elder Tang wasn't worried that she could escape.

"My body is rotten because of those who have harmed me. It is injected with curses. If they touch me, they will only feel pain!" The sound of skin tearing and bone breaking came from Chun Niang's lower body. Blood fell like rain. The scales fell off to reveal a snake tail covered in a divine pattern.

Chun Niang had been playing dumb. She had been planning her escape for a long time already.

Chun Niang's shed skin blocked off the well. Only two spirits managed to get through. Elder Tang's ex-wives went after the two spirits. Gao Ming wanted to help them, but he could barely survive himself. Chun Niang kept on moving forward. The fact that she didn't smack them to death showed that she was kinder than most villagers.
