The mentally-unstable Luo Dong stared ahead. He felt like the bus had gotten more lively. When he took a glance at the rearview mirror, his back poured out in a cold sweat. He had no idea when the bus filled up with ‘people’.

The passengers were superfluous at first. However, as more blood leaked out of the heart of the flesh puppet, the passengers’ bodies became more corporeal.

“What are these things?”

The passengers were all sorts of strange. Some of them wore the patients’ garb from Li San Hospital. There were patients who were dismembered and then pieced back together. There were faceless residents. The passenger who surprised Luo Dong the most was a panic-stricken auntie in the last row. She ignored the scary passengers and the sea of corpses outside the bus. She held the rail and walked to the driver’s booth where Luo Dong was. She tapped on the door and asked nervously, “Hello. Have you seen my child? His limbs were pierced by chains, and then he was taken away by something. He said he wanted to fight for a possibility, using his soul as a bet. I am very worried about him.”

“Auntie, I’m a bit busy at the moment!” Luo Dong had no idea what the woman was talking about. He didn’t have the energy or time to deal with her. More passengers appeared. They moved to use their soul blood to paint a blood city inside the bus. When the Blood City was fully painted, the bus turned bloodred. The original rules were forcibly shattered, and a ray of light appeared at the end of the tunnel.

“The exit! I can see the exit!”

Luo Dong gripped the steering wheel excitedly. He didn’t expect the first time he raced cars would be using a bus.

The divine howl came from the tunnel behind him. Black threads poured out of Gao Ming’s corpses. The black lines that could consume fate and time seemed to be the real body of the God of the Future. It didn’t anticipate the impact Luo Dong could have brought to disrupt its plan. Gao Ming hand-picked both Fan Li and Luo Dong. In fact, Gao Ming even had the plan of having them inherit his mission to fight against fate should he fall. The black lines pierced through the skin of all the Gao Mings. A lot of black lines had been injected into Gao Ming’s corpses. God wanted to take over Gao Ming’s heart of flesh.

As the black lines tried to leave Gao Ming’s corpses, the flesh puppet’s Ghost Face suddenly smiled. It closed its lips, and cracks appeared on its face. The God of Flesh and Blood was prepared for this. The many Gao Mings were constructed using its power. At that moment, the God of Flesh and Blood turned the corpses into flesh cages to temporarily entrap the black threads. The omnipotent God was held back. The bus successfully left the tunnel!

As the sun shone on his skin, Luo Dong felt that he had been reborn. “I made it! I actually brought it out!”

There were still monsters prowling in the black mist. Luo Dong didn’t stay to celebrate. He drove the bus towards the apartment where Gao Ming’s parents were. Actually, Luo Dong didn’t even need to do that. The flesh puppet started to absorb the passengers’ essence after it was no longer suppressed by the divine figurine. It could sense Gao Ming’s exact location!

The heart of Flesh resonated with the heart of God. The distance between them shortened.

“I need to cut through the city! Once I return to the apartment, the God of Flesh and Blood should be able to do the rest!” Luo Dong wanted to shout out the oppression in his heart. He drove wildly on the road and used the most direct way to cut through the mist.

The survivors at Building Three of Prosperity Neighbourhood started to realise that something was wrong. More and more individuals appeared inside the building, referring to themselves as Gao Ming’s parents. With the excuse of looking for Gao Ming, they ignored the taboos and purposely went to the most dangerous places. They hid the curses and poisons within them. Whenever they called out Gao Ming’s name, they were cursing him. If these ‘parents’ really found Gao Ming, the consequences would be unimaginably bad.

“This is so evil.” Fan Li thought that he had witnessed humanity’s bottom line, but this experience shattered his understanding. The pairs of couples kept repeating how much they loved Gao Ming, but everything they did was to harm and curse Gao Ming. Fan Li wanted to help them at first, but the more he observed them, the more scared he became. “I mustn’t let them meet up with Gao Ming!”

Fan Li tried to contact the others in the building but to no avail.

“Why can’t we find them? Someone personally saw Gao Ming inside this building!” The middle-aged man became agitated. Thick capillaries burst in his eyes. “Has someone stolen my child? Has he been cut and stored in different places?”

Gao Ming’s parents became more and more unstable. The curses in their bodies were about to explode, but they still hadn’t found the target of the curses, Gao Ming. The couple slowly twitched their bodies around to look at Fan Li, He Jing and Xia Yang behind them.

“You are Gao Ming’s friends. You told us you saw him. But we can’t find him after searching the whole building…” The man paused before raising his head. “Are you lying to me? Have you killed Gao Ming?” Rationality faded away. The curses had been collected. Next, these parents planned to go after Gao Ming’s closest friends to complete the last step of the plan.

“We are also looking for Gao Ming.” He Jing’s skull was numb. “Damn it. Why are Gao Ming’s parents crazier than he is?”

“Why are you wasting time?” Fan Li carried Xia Yang. “Run!”

“You must have killed them! Yes!”

He Jing finally realised that the couple was not really looking for Gao Ming… or rather, they were searching for Gao Ming to kill him.

“With such parents, I can understand why Gao Ming would turn out so crazy in life.” The three wanted to shake off Gao Ming’s parents, but the parents pounced at them.

Similar things were happening all over the building. At a specific moment, everyone’s future was chained together by Gao Ming’s parents. They twisted all the survivors’ fate just to kill Gao Ming.

“Cursed and hunted by his parents… Is this Gao Ming’s worst future?” Fan Li seemed to understand something. He started to purposely move away from the summons in his heart. He carried Xia Yang and moved to the underground parking lot. “Gao Ming will never harm his ‘parents’. Let me do it for him.”

Xia Yang’s face twitched when he realised where Fan Li was carrying him. He wanted to stop Fan Li, but he was too injured.
