Chapter 14: Chapter 14: Ah, Too Much Force
Although Yukong had come to express her gratitude, the Xianzhou and Jarilo ultimately did not stand on the same side.
Moreover, with Tingyun being forced to serve Godzilla, Bronya couldn't be sure she wouldn't take offense.
However, when it came to Godzilla, she had no choice in the matter.
Fortunately, Yukong didn't seem to mind.
In truth, Yukong did mind—she minded that she hadn't taken a photo of Tingyun in this outfit in time. Now, getting that shot would be much more difficult.
Suddenly, Godzilla opened his eyes, and his soul-piercing vertical pupils made everyone's breath hitch.
-------------------------------
There was a short person dressed in attire that did not conform to Jarilo, holding a sharp sword.
"Yanqing?!"
"Lord Yanqing!"
Yukong's eyes widened, her thoughts in turmoil, completely unable to understand why Yanqing had drawn his sword.
Yukong's exclamation successfully snapped Yanqing out of his daze. Seeing the unsheathed sword in his hand, he instinctively put it away. Noticing the tense atmosphere around him, he hurriedly explained.
"I didn't mean to! I was just startled by this big guy's presence—it was an instinctive reaction, just instinct!"
As a swordsman, Yanqing's combat instincts were incredibly sharp.
Although Godzilla was not deliberately exuding any pressure, in Yanqing's keen perception, the creature before him felt like a volcano on the verge of eruption. This made him instinctively draw his sword and take a defensive stance.
"Hey, rude people are not welcome here. Bronya, even if they're guests, you shouldn't just bring them over like this." Serval stood with her hands on her hips, frowning slightly.
But Bronya knew she was actually protecting Yanqing.
In nature, such behavior was undoubtedly a direct challenge to the ruler of a territory. In human society, suddenly drawing a sword at someone could turn even the best of friends into enemies.
With Yanqing's small frame, Serval didn't think he would last more than a single move against Godzilla.
Yukong, who was well-versed in social etiquette, also saw Serval's goodwill and quickly pulled Yanqing back, fearing that diplomacy would turn into disaster.
Godzilla didn't care about their thoughts—he was simply curious. Could Yanqing actually hurt him?
The sword in Yanqing's hand was not a conventional blade. It was actually a technological creation of the Xianzhou, as intricately designed as a spaceship compressed into sword form.
And not just Yanqing's sword—Ji Yi, standing beside him, also wielded a similarly advanced spear.
After all, a massive interstellar ship like the Xianzhou wouldn't rely on primitive melee weapons for combat.
"Lord Yanqing, Godzilla seems to be looking at you," Ji Yi whispered.
"Haha, you're not mistaken." A bead of cold sweat slid down Yanqing's temple—not out of fear, but because everything had been going so well between the two factions, and he didn't want to be the one to ruin it...
Bronya shot a look at Serval, who was the closest to Godzilla, hoping she could provide some useful advice.
Serval hesitated, uncertainty flickering in her eyes before she finally asked hesitantly, "Uh... do you want to spar with him?"
She knew Godzilla possessed intelligence, and the concept of sparring was easy enough to grasp.
After all, a god's wisdom was beyond mortal understanding.
Just as Bronya was about to criticize Serval for suggesting something so reckless, she saw Godzilla slowly nod.
He nodded!
Yukong's pupils trembled violently—did this giant really understand what sparring was?!
Compared to their shock, Yanqing was thrilled.
"Really?! You knew I wanted to spar with you?!" On the way here, Yanqing had been racking his brain for a way to convince Godzilla to accept his challenge.
He had thought about it the entire trip but couldn't come up with a good approach—only for Godzilla to read his mind and propose it first!
Is this what it means to be a god?!
Godzilla straightened up, his towering figure blotting out the sky. The massive shadow he cast made it feel as if night had fallen.
"Yanqing, be careful."
Since it was Godzilla himself who had accepted the challenge, Yukong had no reason to stop it. Besides, they were technically the ones in the wrong in the first place.
However...
"This guy actually knew what Yanqing was thinking—was that one of his abilities?" Yukong wondered.
Tingyun, on the other hand, wasn't too worried. She chuckled softly and said,
"He's always had a way of drawing people's attention. I suppose Yanqing's strong battle spirit was too obvious for him to miss."
These past days of being together made Tingyun grow fond of this big guy—not in a romantic way, but purely out of admiration.
Compared to the deceit and scheming of commercial battles, Godzilla needed only to stand there to be free of any plots or conspiracies. Or rather, even if there were conspiracies, Godzilla could resolve everything with a single atomic breath.
With such emotions, Tingyun delved deeper into understanding Godzilla.
To Godzilla, Yanqing's challenge was probably nothing more than childish roughhousing. As an elder, he was especially happy to tease such kids.
Listening to Tingyun's account, Yukong fell silent.
She now had reasons to suspect that this big guy was some Pathstrider in disguise—or perhaps even an Aeon playing tricks on them.
Yes, you! Aha!
After all, this guy had a history—he even blew up Akivili's train.
But seeing that his body didn't even contain Imaginary Energy, she could only swallow her suspicions.
As they spoke, they had already left the battlefield.
On the battlefield, both sides stood firm.
One side obscured the sky, resembling a colossal behemoth from ancient myths, making people dare not look directly.
The other side…
"Ah, he's blocked," Serval remarked emotionlessly.
"Take this!" Yanqing shouted, leaping into the air. His longsword slashed out, radiating cold light in all directions!
With this strike, Yanqing went all out. Facing the immense pressure from Godzilla, he had no doubt the opponent could withstand it. He was only known as the best among the younger generation; against an ancient powerhouse of unknown age, only by giving his all could he break through his limits!
As the strongest of Xianzhou Luofu's younger generation, Yanqing's swordplay even surpassed many of the older generation. Few could take his strike, except for the truly exceptional seniors.
Yet Godzilla did not move. He didn't even budge. He simply stood there, quietly watching Yanqing charge toward him, carrying the power of the Path.
"Shhkk!" Yanqing's sword successfully pierced Godzilla's skin. The blade cut through flesh, a slicing sound echoed—then it stopped.
Yanqing, initially pleased that his attack had worked, suddenly felt an immense pressure from the sword. His face changed instantly. The Path-infused power he had imbued into the blade entered Godzilla's body but… nothing happened!
He tried pulling out his sword—no movement.
He used both hands—still stuck.
Pressing his feet against Godzilla, he pulled with all his might, his face turning red as he exerted every ounce of strength he had.
Godzilla watched the struggling little man, his tail swaying behind him thoughtfully.
As one of the top universal factions, Xianzhou Luofu's younger generation was essentially represented by Yanqing.
With a weapon, he could pierce Godzilla's completely unguarded body. But as long as Godzilla tensed his muscles even slightly, the sword would remain stuck, impossible to retrieve.
In other words, apart from creations of sufficiently advanced technology and the ancient monsters above Yanqing, Godzilla could now roam the universe unchecked.
Satisfied with this realization, Godzilla nodded slightly and then relaxed his muscles.
"Bang!" Yanqing, exerting too much force, was instantly flung backward ten meters before plummeting downward.
Since this guy had helped him, Godzilla decided to return the favor. His tail shot up like lightning.
"Bang!" Yanqing, like a shooting star, flew toward the distant onlookers.
"Ahhha." The tip of Godzilla's tail curled slightly behind him, as if guilty.
"Too much force."
