Chapter 385: Elysia: You Guys Are a Little Too Perverted
Elysia found Academy City to be somewhat abstract.
Case in point: she was currently witnessing an internal trial within one of the research institutes.
Confused? You might be wondering why a research institute needs to hold internal trials.
It's because there are currently no external laws that can keep up with what's happening here. The events are simply too far ahead of their time. Therefore, the research institute has no choice but to take on the responsibility of judging its own researchers for their "misdeeds."
"Dispute No. 1006, the court is now in session!"
A simple, small courtroom had been set up. It looked more like a stage for a children's play than an actual court.
"Toby Grammar, do you have anything else to say in your defense?!"
The old man on the judge's bench immediately struck a nerve, and the defendant jumped to his feet, red-faced and shouting:
"I just like catboy femboys, what's wrong with that?! I didn't do anything to a human! The institute's regulations only say we can't privately create furry-human hybrids. I just outsourced the technology to create a catboy femboy! What did I do wrong?! It wasn't me who made him, I just accepted him!"
Elysia covered her mouth in shock, watching the frenzied scene unfold. Beside the defendant, a catboy femboy was lying there.
The judge was furious at the retort and shouted back, "Are you an idiot?! What were you thinking, putting a male cat's brain into an empty catboy's body?! He bit off half of your dick, and we had to get researchers to reattach it! If you ask me, a bastard like you should be castrated!"
"Then I'll just fucking become a woman! I'll still play with catboy femboys!"
Elysia glanced at the defendant's stand. Toby Grammar was his name. This was truly a shocking scene.
"You just put a cat's consciousness inside it. What was the point of creating him? In the end, didn't you have to turn him back into a cat?! Do you know how much research resources you wasted?! You bastards, look at the stupid things you've done! Furries are one thing, at least they're somewhat decent! But what the hell is a 'lust snail'? And those female researchers, why are you researching giant living earthworms?! Have you all gone mad?!"
The old judge was heartbroken. Although he had accepted furries, he still couldn't accept something as bizarre as giant earthworms. Who knows what these people were up to behind the scenes.
Elysia frowned. She wondered if these people could even be considered normal humans anymore.
"What does that have to do with me?! I just like catboy femboys! Besides, how do you know I can't turn him into a real catboy femboy human?! This is love! I've been sleeping with my cat for three years!"
Toby showed no remorse whatsoever and even believed that his cat loved him.
"You animal! You made this body-swapped kitten bite you, and you still have the nerve to say it's love between you! Don't you have any sense of shame?!"
"You old geezer, I've had enough of you for a long time. Back then, you wanted to research making dogs talk, and all that dog learned was how to cuss! You old waste, now that you see my success, you're trying to use an internal trial to suppress me!"
"Oh my fucking God!"
"Son of a bitch!"
The judge, in a fit of rage, threw his gavel directly at Toby.
Toby, not to be outdone, nimbly dodged it. The gavel hit the wall and flew towards Elysia's head.
But Elysia didn't bother to dodge. The body was just a manifestation of Noldrei, more like a port mapping operation.
The gavel hit Elysia's head, and she caught it.
Elysia felt that these people were a bit too much and couldn't help but ask a researcher who was scribbling furiously beside her, "Don't you think this is going too far? That's a little boy, isn't it? Are you just going to turn him into a human and then ignore him?"
The researcher was surprised by the question. She sized up the beautifully dressed Elysia and said, "You must be new here. You'll get used to it. There are always people who dream of turning animals into humans. But after many experiments, we've found that if an animal becomes a human, it won't be that loyal, fawning animal anymore. It will also quickly pick up the same bad habits as humans. But even so, there are still many researchers who think they can control the path of animal evolution, and they end up on a foolish path."
"Don't worry about the catboy. We'll soon restore him to his cat identity. It's so perverted. I can understand liking snakes and insects, but why would anyone like a disobedient and annoying animal like a cat? It's really worrying for the development of society."
The female researcher sighed, seemingly full of worry for the future of humanity. It was as if people who liked cats and dogs were like street punks.
'Snakes and insects aren't okay either, are they?'
Elysia resisted the urge to retort and just nodded in agreement. "Indeed, they are a bit strange."
"I know you newcomers are worried that we'll mess around. Don't worry! For this little cat, his owner just made his butt hurt for a while. After he's restored to his cat body, he'll quickly forget about it and continue to hang out with his owner."
'You're going to let that little cat stay with its owner?'
Elysia's eyes bulged out. She never expected these researchers to be so wild in their actions.
"I know you're surprised, but don't be surprised yet. After all, the cat is his own property, and the human body he created is also his own property. It's his own business how he wants to deal with it. After all, the definition of 'human' in Academy City hasn't been expanded to a suitable extent yet. I just don't know if the definition of human will change in the future. Anyway, I can't accept the idea of cats and dogs turning into humans for a while. Doesn't that mean that the lab rats we used in our experiments could also turn into humans?"
The researcher was quite worried about her experimental subjects undergoing drastic changes. For a biological researcher, this would be a devastating blow.
Elysia wanted to say something, but she didn't know what to say.
She hesitated for a long time and still felt that the researchers in these Academy City institutes were too surreal.
This made her long-held belief that "all humans are cute" waver greatly.
Ely, you must not give up on your beliefs!!
