Honkai Impact 3rd AU: The Runic Anomaly

Aurora stood beside Thor as they both watched the two-vs-one battle below.

"Kevin's going to lose." Thor said without looking away from the field.

Aurora flinched before turning her attention to Kevin. The man was currently boxed in on both sides, one side by Eden and the other by Elysia. 

(I bet ya one night that Kevin loses in the next ten seconds) Alter teased.

Hearing Alter's bet, Aurora frowned but still nodded, 'He can last at least ten seconds…right?'

(Nope~) Alter chimed as Kevin was delivered an upper cut by Eden, followed by Elysia landing a kick against his head launching him across the field.

Once Kevin came to a stop after rolling across half the field, he didn't get back up.

Kevin had passed out.

'Damnit!' Aurora cursed. 

(Hehehe)

As the session had finished, Kevin, Eden and Elysia gathered before Thor and Aurora. Kevin was still rubbing the back of his neck, but he was fine. Eden just looked smug at him, Elysia was making sure there was no dirt on her clothes.

"Too slow, god awful reaction time, I mean come on Kevin, what happened to all that improvement from before?" Thor sighed, the last time Kevin fought the two, he did beat the two, yet today he got beaten so easily.

Kevin shivered, the way Thor spoke alarmed him, 'Shit!'. His eyes drifted to Aurora, well Alter, the red eyes and smile that promised him death told him he was about to go through hell.

His gaze snapped back onto Thor, he silently tried to plead with the man, but Thor acted as if he didn't even send his friend to a sadistic trainer who will only let it be over when all of his bones are broken.

Eden's smug look broke as she giggled at his dire fate, Elysia also smiled giving a thumbs up to Alter.

–Shhhh–

Thor entered the lab just as Mobius was walking past with a vial of blood.

"Mobius, I've come to bargain." Thor looked at her seriously.

"What?" Mobius raised a brow at his serious aura.

Thor's look vanished as he chuckled, "Nothing, anyway take this."

Thor pulls a syringe from his Inventory and dangles it in front of her.

Mobius narrows her eyes as she stares at the syringe, she then looks behind it to Thor, "Is this…?"

"Yep."

Mobius's eyes widened, then she grinned at him while taking the syringe from his hand.

Thor watched the woman hold it as if it was the most fragile thing ever. 'It's made of Soulium, simply dropping it won't do anything,'

Once Mobius had placed the syringe in one of the fridges, she looked at Thor with a questioning gaze.

"How? You might ask, let's just say I made a few modifications to that bit of blood." Thor's vague words had Mobius even more excited.

"You'll let me test it RIGHT?" Her grin widened, turning almost maniacal.

"Go for it, show me why you're the best genealogist around." With Thor's permission Mobius jolted towards her desk, planning out a bunch of tests she wants to do on his blood. Yes, it's Thor's blood that she got, before it would just self-destruct a few seconds after leaving his body.

'But now, I can figure out what makes you tick. Ahhh~ You really are the best~' Her cheeks flushed.

Thor just chuckled at her dedication and left her be, but not before snapping his fingers refilling Klein's boba that she had been holding out to him for the past few minutes.

"Thank you Dr." Klein sipped on it as her eyes lit up and she wandered back over to her own desk.

–Vmmm–

"Ahhh, why did I get stuck with this?" Vill yawned, Thor had sent her to chauffeur the two new scientist twins they will be receiving.

"Because you haven't been doing much since the 5th's attack, all you do is lock yourself in that workshop of yours and sleep."

Hua looked up at Himeko noting how she crossed her arms tightly and her lip was constantly twitching.

"B-but I'm working on a special project."

"Doesn't matter–" Himeko was cut off as the VTOL ramp lowered and they got their first look at their new colleagues.

As you would expect they both look very alike, both had exceedingly long hair, both reaching their ankles, one of them had blue tipped hair, and the other red tipped, correlating with their eye colour of which matched their hair, both also had their hair tied up into two buns on the sides of their heads. Finally they were short, like really short.

One of the rushed off the VTOL and scouted the surrounding area, she looked like an explorer surveying new lands. Her sister followed behind her, more calmly and had a blank look on her face.

"Fuxi! We're finally here, hahaha, the best tech in the world, and I get to use all of it," After calling out to her sister, she gained stars in her eyes as she imagined the possibilities, she even started drooling.

–Smack–

"Oww!" She held the back of her head and glared at her sister.

"Nuwa, you're being rude," After reprimanding her sister, Fuxi looked to the three women who approached them and gave a small bow.

"Nice to meet you, I am Fuxi, and this rude one is Nuwa." Nuwa quickly followed in copying Fuxi, introducing herself to the three.

Himeko had a small smile witnessing the two's interaction, Hua by her side was more surprised by them being shorter than even her. Vill was just tiredly looking at the two, but she felt a little better that they weren't wet blankets.

After a little more back and fourth, the two followed the others inside, the VTOL taking off as they did so.

Himeko led the group around Moth, giving a short tour of the place. Vill was just hoping this would come to an end, she needed to work on her baby in the workshop.

Nuwa tried asking Hua a couple questions and when she asked Hua's age due to how young she 'looked', Hua told them, "My age? I'm still 16, soon to be 17."

Nuwa froze the moment Hua said that, she mentally compared their heights and nearly cried realising that she was shorter than a 16 year old kid, but she bounced back when Himeko said something about a game room.

Fuxi just blankly stared at her sister.

"Now, let me take you to where you'll be working." Himeko started to bring them towards Mobius's lab, just as Thor left after giving Mobius some of his blood.

"Oh?" He looked at the two new faces and recognised that they must be the new hires. He walked over to them as did Himeko and the group stopping part way.

Fuxi and Nuwa felt that this man was familiar, but didn't know where they knew him from.

Himeko smiled, "Thor, meet Nuwa and Fuxi, I just finished giving them a small tour of the place." Thor gave a slow nod while the twins were shocked.

Nuwa visibly so, her mouth hung open as she went stiff as a board, Fuxi just widened her eyes a little, but both were still shocked.

'Thor? As in Thorald Arwannson!? HIM??' Nuwa screamed internally, her idol was before and she was freaking out.

"Its nice to meet you Mr Arwansson, my name is Fuxi," Fuxi had composed herself and gave an introduction that promptly snapped Nuwa out of her shock and did the same,

"Y-yeah, my n-name is N-Nuwa, Sir" Nuwa immediately cringed internally shouting, 'You Idiot!!' Thinking she made herself look like a fool in front of him.

And the amusement on his face made her want to bury her head in the ground to hide from this embarrassment.

As Nuwa was berating herself, Thor felt genuine amusement at her nervous introduction, clearly her sister was the more composed one in comparison. A low chuckle that made Nuwa feel like he was laughing at her behaviour, he replies.

"Since you seem to already know me," He eyed Nuwa briefly, "I'll keep it brief, feel free to call me Thor. You'll be working closely with us from now on and I prefer being casual with co-workers." He then had some small talk with Himeko, Hua and Vill.

The two saw how he interacted with the three and Nuwa thought that maybe he wouldn't make fun of her earlier bit.

"Oh, right." Just as Thor turned to leave with Vill, he quickly mentioned, "I would not bother Mobius for the rest of the day if I was you, she is kinda taken by the gift I gave her." With that he started to walk away giving a casual wave.

Nuwa looked at her sister, who was also looking at her. Nuwa smiled, "He's so cool right!?" Nuwa did an exaggerated pose for emphasis and Fuxi did a small nod of agreement.

"Since Mobius is off limits for today, that would conclude the tour of Moth," Himeko pat Hua on the back jolting her forward, "Hua here will take you to your rooms, just get yourselves settled in tonight and report to here by 9am."

Hua gestured for the two to follow her and they left with Hua to their rooms. Himeko also went towards her own office, she had some work to catch up on.

A/N: Sorry about not doing an actual chapter yesterday, almost didn't upload today at all, but managed to write the chapter. I'll try and keep to a chapter a day for now, but some days may be different if I can't write that day.
