Chapter 22: Chapter 19: The Unwanted Victims and the Delicate gift
Jonathan, the personal butler of the first prince, watches his master as he walks ahead while carrying a deadly creature in his arms.
Seda noticed his meek act. "A courageous man has a big coward as his right hand," was his remark.
"This goes against the will of the Heavens," Jonathan whispered, trying not to express his disapproval of the current situation in front of the first prince.
"Do you even know what the will of the Heavens? It's funny to hear it from a man who is not even religious," he stated.
"I do not need to be religious to know that this is wrong," he said.
'You are more like a nanny than a butler, you know," the eternal threader sneered at him.
Seda leans in closer, wraps his arms around him, and whispers in his ear. He went on, "Let me tell you a secret."
"Actually," said Seda.
Jonathan was momentarily dumbfounded and frozen in dread.
Seda utter. "(capital letters state emphasis), THERE'S A PROPHECY THAT SAYS THAT THE WORLD WILL BE DESTROYED, SO ANY CONTRIBUTION TO MAKE IT HAPPEN IS TAKEN IN HIGH REGARDS," he stated.
He laughed cruelly and withdrew, threatening to "seal your mouth or I'll cut your tongue out and make your master die in the worst way possible." He threatened him.
It is forbidden for eternal threaders to interact excessively with people. They are no longer permitted to get involved in any matter occurring beneath the sun unless it is directly related to the authority of the heavens. They are now lifeless weapons since their immortality has already taken away their humanity. Seda can just observe since everything will still turn out interesting without his help.
However, guiding the boat is also a must.
Meanwhile,
"You look good in your wedding attire, you're Highness," the chief priest said, admiring the attendants' effort to the finished product.
"Call it a uniform," the emperor remarked cynically.
Kal simply laughed.
When the emperor realized something was amiss, he gave him his usual stare.
"Is there a time you will stop glaring at me and giving me that cornered look?" Kal asked.
Emperor Evan turned to face him. "So, what's the problem?"
Being the emperor's childhood friend. Evan already knows whether something is up or when something is off. He is familiar with Kal's common reaction, change of reaction, and lack of reaction.
The chief priest gave him a bow and presented him with an anxious smile.
"Leave," he commanded his attendants.
"In this tense atmosphere, are you planning any lewd actions?" Kal stated.
"It's vulgar, and it's coming from a priest's mouth," Evan's emphasis trying to rebuke him.
He revealed,
"Being united with those ladies is not the main problem that you have to face, Emperor," he said. "Instead, they will be one of your biggest helpers. So please be willing to let them go or spare them when the time comes. You are now an emperor and not a prince, so you have a duty that you must fulfill," he stated.
"You speak like a mother," the emperor stated.
"You will be dethroned by the first prince," the Chief priest stated.
Evan started laughing, mocking the idea. Kal was all silent and waiting for him to stop. It is a natural reaction, a common response coming from someone who knows how strong he is.
"It's a prophecy," Kal spoke.
"Interesting," he remarked with complete assurance.
"He will," Kal was adamant.
The emperor asked, mockingly., "Anything else? Anything interesting? Anything unreal?"
He sighed and informed him, "You will come back with an empress."
The emperor chuckled. "That's also interesting," Evan said.
"Then legalize the union," taking back the plan he plotted against the honorary lady. "You said those women will be useful. I shall keep them by my side. I'll divorce them later," he said.
It was an unexpected turnover.
"Let me see how interesting the Heavens play," he stated.
He left the room, releasing a deep sigh.
Out of the peacefulness inside the palace, where no other assassins can enter (only the assassins of the emperor). There is a surprise attack that almost hits him from behind.
Kal heard a chuckle, and he recognized that voice. "Aren't you done playing naive, Prophet?" the voice stated. She stated as she appeared in his sight.
"I see, it's you," he said as he calmly received her. She came towards him; she was wearing a cloak that would make you unable to recognize her.
She extended her arm and reached for his face. He defenselessly let her.
She kissed his forehead and patted his head. "It has been a very long, long, long, long time since we last had a chat," the young lady stated.
"Why are you here?" he asked her.
With a disappointed expression, she answered him. "Oh, don't you miss me?" she teased casually out of familiarity. "Your reaction," she chuckled with a slight distress.
You still love me," she muttered.
The priest looks away. She smiled. "It's cute how you lose your demeanor by simply talking to me."
"Now, now, where is the honorable priest I raised years ago?" she stated.
"It's not like you can stay here with me no matter how many times I plead with you, and begging you to love me when you see me as a son all this time is not something I can change, but you want me to pretend. Okay, but don't treat me coldly because the idea displeases you," he remarked.
"I'm not here to argue. I'm here to prevent the destruction of this world, she stated. "This place is destined to be destroyed, but the heavens want to give them a chance. So, they will come up with another alternative outcome," she added.
"An alternative outcome?" the chief priest repeated. "It must have been an impossible task that you were even sent back to a place you abandoned.
He smiled and lowered himself out of height differences. "I'll help you if you can just say that you are doing this because you don't want me to disappear."
".." she was silent.
He chuckled and held her hand, then placed it on his face. "Come on, fool me like you always do. Bestow mercy on this longing heart, guardian," he said
