[Chapter 350: Hospital Terror, Quartz Pendant Strikes]

Soon, Madonna arrived at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center accompanied by her assistant and bodyguards. Dr. Sandra quickly took her through various tests. However, when it came time for the blood draw, Madonna recalled Linton's warning and hesitated, ultimately refusing consent.

Dr. Sandra did not press the issue and instead led her to a state-of-the-art examination room.

"Madonna, this is our latest piece of equipment -- the 4D ultrasound."

"What does it do?"

"No, this exam has no side effects for you or the baby."

"Boss, that's not okay. We have to accompany you," Amanda, the bodyguard, immediately objected.

"Madonna, how would you like to handle this?" Dr. Sandra's heart skipped a beat but she composed herself and turned to Madonna for the answer.

"Dr. Sandra, I can't bring anyone in at all, not even one person?"

"No, any outsiders could interfere with the machine's operation and the results won't be reliable. It's better not to do it at all."

Madonna hesitated but her curiosity to see her baby's image and movements won out. "Okay, I'll go in alone."

"Boss, but who's going to protect you in there?"

"Don't worry, it's a hospital. Besides, you all can wait right here. Nothing dangerous will happen to me."

With that, Sandra opened a thick, sealed metal door and the two stepped inside. Behind them, the heavy door silently shut.

Inside, after passing a cloakroom, they entered a room housing a huge examination machine and an office desk, behind which sat another female doctor in a white coat.

Madonna felt puzzled. "Dr. Sandra, you said no outsiders in the exam room, but there's another doctor here?"

"No need to worry. This is Dr. Cornell, our top gynecology specialist. She oversees this exam and I only assist her."

"But you said outsiders interfere with the machine's normal function?"

"She's not an outsider. This device actually requires two operators."

"Okay, what's next?" Hearing Sandra's explanation, Madonna's doubts eased.

"No rush. Before the exam, Dr. Cornell will ask about your health."

"Go ahead, ask away."

"How old are you?"

"37."

"How many weeks along is the baby?"

"18 weeks."

... After some routine questions that raised no suspicions, Madonna began to relax. However, she failed to notice Dr. Cornell had opened her palm, revealing a stopwatch that started to sway before her eyes.

"Are you feeling sleepy now?"

"Yes."

"Good, then have a nice rest."

Recalling earlier when Dr. Sandra found excuses to block her assistant and bodyguards from entering the exam room, coupled with Linton's warnings about her safety, she confirmed these doctors intended harm.

Not daring to linger, she hurried to the door, found the button to open it, and pressed it. The metal door slid open silently.

Her assistant and bodyguards waiting outside saw Madonna rush out in a panic and immediately sensed something was wrong.

Without hesitation, they protected her on the way to the elevator, quickly leaving the hospital.

He called Amanda, getting a brief update, then reminded them to stay calm and be cautious driving. He had four armed bodyguards with him, divided into two cars, following behind to provide protection.

Once in the car and hearing from Danny, Madonna began to calm down. She instructed the driver to head straight back to Linton Estate, then took the phone from her assistant and called Linton, fully reporting the hospital incident.

Hearing this, Linton immediately understood: someone had tried to use the prenatal checkup as cover to hypnotize Madonna, aiming to uncover the secret behind her youthful and stunning looks. They might even attempt invasive tests like blood draws or skin samples post-hypnosis.

What they hadn't expected was that Madonna wore a protective quartz pendant, inscribed with calming, beauty-boosting, evil-dispelling, and protective spells.

The evil-dispelling spell repelled all dark forces; ghosts or spirits kept their distance and couldn't approach.

Hypnosis essentially is a form of negative energy, so the pendant counterattacked naturally.

The backlash was so strong it reversed the hypnosis onto the two doctors instead.

Linton kept these details brief over the phone and didn't scold Madonna for ignoring his advice and going to the hospital.

He softly reassured her, telling her not to worry, to stay safe on the trip home, and to return quickly to the estate.

Thinking this through, Linton ordered Danny to stop that SUV at all costs, refusing to let it approach Madonna's vehicle.

The situation was urgent; Danny ignored other tasks and instructed the lead car to accelerate and forcefully ram into the black SUV.

Crash.

Both cars took heavy damage, and those inside the black SUV were stunned by the impact.

While the police dealt with the accident, Danny escorted Madonna safely all the way back to the estate.
