Chapter 60: Chapter 60: Yuhi Kurenai and Anko Block the Way · Leo Who Made Empty Promises!
"Tsunade…"
Watching Princess Tsunade bow deeply in gratitude toward Leo, Jiraiya's expression grew complicated. He couldn't help but feel a sense of loss.
Meanwhile, Uchiha Madara stood off to the side, his lips curling into a cold, disdainful smile. "Hmph."
Then, turning away, he said, "Izuna, there's nothing more to see here. Come, let's train. You still need to get used to your new eyes."
He grabbed Izuna's arm and began to walk off. Truthfully, if it weren't for Izuna's insistence on witnessing the event, Madara wouldn't have come at all.
"Nii-san, shouldn't we wait for the other Nii-san?" Izuna hesitated slightly, looking back.
"There's no need!" Madara's tone was domineering, not allowing for discussion. Without waiting for Izuna to respond, he pulled him along.
Izuna didn't even get a chance to greet Leo before being taken away.
At that moment, as Tsunade bowed, Leo's gaze unintentionally drifted—and landed on a rather noticeable spot. Her generous cleavage was hard to ignore from his angle.
For a brief second, Leo stood frozen in place. Then, realizing what he was doing, he quickly averted his eyes.
"I'm only fulfilling my promise," he said calmly.
With that, Leo turned and left without another word.
---
"Alright then," Deidara stretched his arms with a grin. "Now that the big bosses are gone, let's bounce too!"
He gave a respectful glance at the backs of the two departing Uchiha, then eagerly followed.
"Tch. This is boring. Nobody's getting sacrificed," Hidan muttered grumpily, dragging his scythe as he trudged along. The only thing he ever thought about was sacrificing people to his evil god.
Elsewhere, Nagato and Konan exchanged a small smile. A warm light shimmered in their eyes.
Nagato had now witnessed the resurrection of two dead people. Konan had seen Nagato come back to life three times already.
With each revival, their hope grew stronger. If these miracles were possible, then the resurrection of Yahiko didn't seem so far-fetched anymore.
And when that day came—when Yahiko returned—they would finally be able to live together in a peaceful, unified ninja world.
A dream they once thought impossible now felt just within reach.
The two Uchiha Madara—Leo and the original—held supreme power. They were capable of truly unifying the world. This was real hope. A dream with form.
"Mm." Nagato and Konan nodded silently to one another.
It was in that quiet moment that both of them decided—they would truly follow the two Uchiha from the bottom of their hearts.
Ironically, Leo likely never expected that by resurrecting Senju Nawaki, he would end up winning over so many hearts.
---
But things weren't all smooth sailing.
"Stop right there!"
Leo had only just descended the back mountain and hadn't yet returned to the bustling streets of Konoha when two graceful figures appeared in his path.
It was none other than: Yuhi Kurenai and Mitarashi Anko.
Seeing them, Leo didn't say a word. He merely cast a cold glance their way.
"Hey, hey, hey! What's this? You dare block our way?" Hidan emerged from behind Leo, dragging his scythe and sneering. "Want me to sacrifice you two to the evil god, huh?"
Behind him followed other members of the Akatsuki: Kisame, Sasori, Nagato, Konan, and the rest.
An oppressive wave of murderous intent erupted from the group, sweeping toward Kurenai and Anko.
The pressure was so overwhelming that the two kunoichi instinctively took a few steps back. But despite the fear, they held their ground.
"Madara," Kurenai said firmly, her red eyes locking onto Leo's calm, yet imposing form. "You killed so many people in Konoha. Don't you think it's time to bring them back?"
"Asuma, Guy, Yugao, Hayate… They all died because of you!" Anko added, her voice tight with emotion.
"Enough with the whining!" Deidara stepped forward, impatient. "Get out of the way, or I'll blow you both to pieces. Hmph!"
As he reached for his explosive clay—
"Deidara," Leo interrupted coldly, his tone absolute. "Didn't I say? From now on, there is no Konoha. No Hokage."
"Uh… right, boss! My bad!" Deidara quickly retracted his hand, chuckling awkwardly.
Hidan, too, swallowed nervously and stepped aside.
Leo stepped forward, his gaze sharp as he looked at the two women standing in his way.
"You two. Don't let me hear the word 'Konoha' again. Because from this moment on… Konoha no longer exists."
"There will only be one nation left in the entire ninja world."
Zzzzhhhhnnnnn———
As he spoke, Leo's eyes transformed, revealing the terrifying Six Magatama Rinnegan.
The surge of eye power was so intense that Kurenai and Anko instinctively stepped back several paces, stunned.
"Those eyes…" they gasped in disbelief.
They didn't resemble a traditional Rinnegan… nor a Sharingan. And yet, the power they emitted was suffocating—unlike anything they'd ever seen before.
---
As the shock settled in, Leo took another step forward, his gaze unrelenting.
"You want the dead to be resurrected?"
"I can do that."
"But first… show me your worth in the upcoming Fourth Great Ninja War."
"If your performance satisfies me… then perhaps I'll consider bringing one or two of them back."
His voice was calm, yet brimming with authority.
"You… you mean it?" Kurenai's voice trembled with hope. Her fear dissolved, replaced by surprise.
Was there really hope?
Could Asuma come back? Could her long-departed parents be revived as well?
Anko, too, found herself lost in thought. For the first time, she looked at Leo—no, Madara—not with hatred, but with awe.
He wore a long, flowing black cloak. His hair cascaded down to his waist. And from beneath the curtain of bangs, his face was impossibly handsome.
That face… it wasn't the face of a devil.
Kurenai's heart felt conflicted. Anko, meanwhile, stared openly.
The legendary Uchiha Madara was not only terrifyingly powerful… but undeniably captivating.
If she hadn't hated him before, perhaps she would've noticed this sooner.
"You better keep your promise!" Kurenai said, locking eyes with him once more.
"So much chatter." Leo dismissed the conversation, withdrawing his Rinnegan and turning around.
The rest of the Akatsuki followed in his wake—Konan, Nagato, Kisame, Sasori, and the others.
Their destination: the former land of the Uchiha clan.
---
In recent days, Leo, Madara, Izuna, and the rest of the Akatsuki had taken up residence in the old Uchiha clan compound within Konoha.
Most of the houses there were now empty.
Those in disrepair were easily restored by either Leo or Madara using Wood Style. In no time, the area had become a comfortable base.
But as they arrived, they were greeted by an unexpected sound—
Clang———
Bang———
The sounds of steel clashing and flames bursting rang out from near the compound.
They turned the corner to see Uchiha Madara and Uchiha Izuna engaged in an intense sparring session.
Both brothers had activated their Three Tomoe Sharingan. Sparks danced in the air as their swords collided, and the sheer force of their movements sent shockwaves through the surroundings.
To the untrained eye, it looked like a life-or-death battle.
The Akatsuki members stood rooted in place, watching in awe.
"No wonder they're so strong," Hidan muttered. "They're basically trying to kill each other during training."
"Fire Style: Great Fire Annihilation!!" ×2
"Fire Style: Dragon Flame Song Technique!!" ×2
Waves of searing flame erupted from both sides.
The intensity of the Fire Style techniques left even experienced members like Kisame and Sasori wide-eyed.
Anyone who didn't know better might have thought there was serious animosity between the two brothers.
