Hokage travelling to crused world - why everyone is traitor

Chapter 30: Chapter 30: Danzo, I Am the Hokage! Hiruzen, You Will Regret It!

"Old man, this time is different!"

Jiraiya spoke earnestly, his expression serious.

"The Great Toad Sage gave a very clear prophecy this time. The Child of Prophecy is a blond-haired, blue-eyed boy. There was also a hint—he was laughing and calling out the name of the nine-headed beast!"

To Jiraiya, this was almost as if the prophecy was pointing directly at Naruto!

Blond hair, blue eyes—Naruto fit the description perfectly.

As for the 'nine-headed beast,' it had to refer to the Tailed Beasts. Specifically, the Nine-Tails sealed within Naruto.

If this prophecy was accurate, then Naruto would eventually be able to reconcile with the Tailed Beasts. And if he could do that, achieving understanding among people would be an inevitable result.

It couldn't be clearer—Naruto was the Child of Prophecy!

The Hokage's Concern

Hiruzen Sarutobi sighed deeply and rubbed his temples.

"So, what exactly do you want to do, Jiraiya?" he asked, already suspecting the answer.

Jiraiya folded his arms. "The next step is obvious—I have to guide Naruto!"

He continued, his voice filled with conviction.

"The Great Toad Sage prophesied decades ago that I would become the teacher of the Child of Prophecy. The fate of the world depends on this child, and my role is to guide him properly. Depending on his path, he could bring either unprecedented peace or complete destruction to the ninja world. My job is to ensure it's the former!"

This was his mission. The very purpose of his life.

Hiruzen took another slow breath before speaking.

"Pure nonsense," he said flatly. "Naruto already has a teacher—Kakashi. Why should I let you interfere?"

If anyone else had made such a request—someone unrelated to Naruto—Hiruzen would have immediately suspected ulterior motives. Naruto was the Jinchūriki of the Nine-Tails, after all. Was this an attempt to manipulate him? To gain control over Konoha's greatest weapon?

But this was Jiraiya.

Hiruzen knew him well. He understood Jiraiya's heart and knew he had no hidden agenda.

And yet…

Jiraiya was still putting all his faith in a prophecy made by a bunch of toads.

Clashing Views

"Kakashi is too young," Jiraiya countered, shaking his head. "The Great Toad Sage said that I must personally guide the Child of Prophecy and be there to make critical decisions when the time comes."

Hiruzen gave him an exasperated look.

"This is ridiculous," he muttered. "Stop bothering me with these unreliable prophecies!"

"Why won't you believe me?" Jiraiya asked, frustrated.

Hiruzen didn't answer. He simply waved his hand, dismissing the conversation.

Jiraiya sighed, realizing that further discussion was pointless.

"Fine. I'll go talk to Naruto myself," he decided. "He and Kakashi are on a mission in the Land of Waves, right? I'll head there."

No matter what, guiding the Child of Prophecy was something he had to do.

With that, he turned and left.

Danzo's Objection

Not long after, the door to the Hokage's office was pushed open again.

Hiruzen barely had time to process the previous conversation before another problem walked in.

"Are you really going to let Jiraiya interfere with the training of the Nine-Tails Jinchūriki?"

The voice was cold, stern, and filled with disapproval.

Shimura Danzo.

Hiruzen's old comrade-in-arms and the leader of Root.

Danzo's single eye was filled with sharp scrutiny.

"If you allow this to continue, the Nine-Tails Jinchūriki may end up like Jiraiya—chasing after foolish prophecies and being led astray by a bunch of toads!" he declared.

Hiruzen sighed again. He was starting to regret getting out of bed today.

Danzo's Agenda

Danzo continued, his voice filled with determination.

"We cannot allow this situation to continue unchecked! Uzumaki Naruto has graduated from the Academy. It's time to start training him seriously—turning him into a proper weapon for Konoha!"

Hiruzen narrowed his eyes.

"I see where this is going," he said. "Just say it already."

Danzo's expression didn't change.

"The other villages have Jinchūriki who serve as powerful weapons. The Cloud Village has the Two-Tails and the Eight-Tails, both trained for combat. The Stone Village has the Four-Tails and the Five-Tails, ready to be deployed at any time.

Meanwhile, Konoha has been wasting its greatest asset for the past twelve years! If another war breaks out, we will not have a proper Jinchūriki ready for battle!"

He stepped forward, his voice unwavering.

"We need to train Naruto properly—turn him into a true shinobi. That is why I propose—"

He paused for emphasis.

"—that Naruto be placed under my supervision."

Hiruzen's eyes turned cold.

Hiruzen's Response

"Absolutely not," he said firmly.

Danzo's brow twitched. "Hiruzen, be reasonable! The boy is too undisciplined. If we train him properly, we can make him an invaluable asset to the village. In Root, we—"

"Danzo."

Hiruzen cut him off.

"You and I both know what 'training' in Root means. You don't train shinobi—you turn them into mindless tools. Naruto is not a tool."

Danzo clenched his fists.

"Hiruzen, I am serious!" he growled. "Do you really think Naruto, as he is now, is fit to fight on the battlefield? If he remains unchecked, he'll be nothing more than a weakling—a disgrace to Konoha!"

Hiruzen exhaled a long, slow breath before placing his pipe down on the desk.

"Then let me be very serious as well," he said, his voice low and authoritative.

"Danzo, do not let your people anywhere near Naruto."

Silence filled the room.

Danzo's teeth clenched audibly. His eye burned with anger, but he knew there was nothing he could do at this moment.

Hiruzen stared him down, making it clear that this conversation was over.

Danzo had always despised this. This exact scenario.

Hiruzen always had the final say. He always used his position as Hokage to dismiss Danzo's ideas, ignoring the necessities of war and the sacrifices required for true strength.

Danzo's Resentment

Danzo's mind raced with thoughts of the past—of the day he failed to claim the title of Hokage.

He had hesitated. Hiruzen had stepped forward first. And just like that… the position was lost to him.

Years had passed, but nothing had changed.

Even now, despite all of his efforts, he was still being pushed aside.

Danzo gritted his teeth.

"Hiruzen," he said quietly.

His single eye locked onto the Hokage, filled with barely contained fury.

"You will regret this."

With that, he turned and walked away.

Bang!

The door slammed shut behind him.

Hiruzen remained in his seat, unmoving.

He let out a slow breath and looked toward the window.

Outside, the village was peaceful.

But for how long?

Final Thoughts

Naruto's fate was being decided behind closed doors.

Some wanted to guide him. Some wanted to use him.

But in the end, his path would be his to choose.

And that choice would shape the future of the ninja world.
