Chapter 768: Chapter 768: Blindfold
In the cloudless sky, the moon seemed more prominent.
Blue balls of flames, resembling will-o'-the-wisps, floated around, illuminating the clearing behind the abandoned castle in an eerie tone, and twisting and turning the shadows that fell.
When all the preparations for the potion were made, a masked person handed a mask to everyone present.
Looking at the mask handed to him, Andy turned to Grindelwald beside him, who was putting on a mask, and asked in confusion. "Why mask? We already saw each other's faces, right?"
If they want to conceal their identities, they should have worn masks when coming here. Not now, after seeing each other's faces.
Is it for role-playing? Do they want to play the role of evil cultists?
Andy felt a bit of regret. If he had known, he would have brought that Tobi mask and Akatsuki cloak.
Unaware of the thoughts going inside Andy's head, Grindelwald answered, "It is not for us but for the enemy of the person we are going to resurrect. He needs to think he was kidnapped by Goon- what is his name again...? Well, it doesn't matter. He needs to think he was kidnapped by him for revenge and to do some evil ritual."
"He needs to feel fear, anger, and hatred. His heart needs to jump to his throat, and his blood needs to boil from various emotions."
Andy fell silent, thinking about the night of Voldemort's resurrection ritual.
So, that's why they woke up Harry before the ritual?
Andy didn't ask another question and put on the mask, then looked at the stone altar.
The middle-aged man, who was tied and lying sprawled unconsciously on the ground, was freed and woken up by the masked wizard, who gave Andy the mask.
The middle-aged man looked around and turned pale and trembled, seeming to be aware of his fate next.
The masked wizard next transfigured a bunch of crows, which flew to the trees nearby and cawed intermittently, making the atmosphere even more creepy.
Looking at the meticulous preparations, Andy felt a little weird.
Are they going to perform a mini Truman Show for the person they kidnapped?
While he was musing, Grindelwald asked in a cold tone, "Are you ready, my friend?"
The middle-aged man felt a shiver at the words, as they had already briefed him on what they intended to do.
Although he was unwilling, the people who captured him were strong, and he got caught and captured whenever he tried to escape. So he comforted himself that his enemy also pulled into this and pushed his fear down and answered with a stammer, "I-I am read-dy to serve, my lord."
At his word, Grindelwald nodded at the masked wizard, who summoned the corpse of an aborted baby and a glowing sock from the nearby stone table with ingredients and then pointed his wand at the middle-aged man.
"Avada Kedavra."
Along with the hoarse voice, a green light flashed by, taking the light in the frightened middle-aged man's eyes.
When the lifeless body was about to touch the ground, black smoke rushed out of the body with a howl, rushing toward the sky swiftly.
At that moment, the masked wizard waved the sock, making the shadow forcefully change direction and rush toward the sock instead.
Is it a Horcrux?
Andy thought, watching it coldly and indifferently. As if watching a show.
The masked wizard put the sock behind the baby's head and held the baby up above his head, like the wise monkey holding up Simba, and chanted obscure words in an unknown language.
Then, the shadow that was rushing toward the sock entered the baby's head, causing the body to twitch and deform; its face slowly started to resemble the face of the middle-aged man, making the baby uglier.
"It's time. Go, bring him here." After saying this, the masked wizard waved his wand, holding the baby in his hand, causing the flame to blaze around the big cauldron.
Then he poured water into the cauldron and activated the magic on it to push the steam inside, trapping it within.
Seeing he had started to make the potion, Andy levitated a bit and landed on the edge of the altar for a closer look.
After a brief moment, the masked wizard levitated a big jar and poured ash-white, sand-like particles inside.
Is it salt or bone powder?
Andy wondered and asked in a murmur. "What is it?"
Grindelwald, who, at some point, appeared beside him and was also watching, answered, "Dragon bone powder, mixed with purified salt."
The masked wizard waved his wand clockwise a few times with utmost concentration and poured a jade-green paste-like thing inside.
Andy's nose twitched as he tried to smell.
From the colour, slight smell, and the magical properties needed to create a body, he guessed it was the paste of the Dittany herb.
So, would he add herbs needed for bone regeneration as well?
But next, he didn't add herbs. He poured bright red blood, which was emitting strong magic.
Dragon blood?
Then, when the colour of the potion turned blue after a few minutes of chanting and wand waving, he cut and dropped the herbs that Andy used to make the bone growth potion.
What is it called again, Bone-grow or Skele-grow?
Then, he added a cabbage that would bite. Chinese Chomping Cabbage.
Later, he added a flower that grew fangs. Fanged Geranium.
These are some of the difficult-to-deal-with herbs in the Hogwarts Herbology Greenhouse that had bitten him a few times.
Just thinking about what he had gone through to take care of them, Andy wished to incinerate them to ash with Fiendfyre.
Looking at them getting cut and thrown into a cauldron made Andy feel inexplicably happy.
When the herbs touched the potion, they started to dissolve, like being thrown on acid.
As the essence of herbs assimilates with the potion and changes the potion into a green colour. The masked wizard dropped a few well-preserved, small, walnut-sized brains that still had nerves attached to them into the cauldron; when the brains touched the green potion, they squirmed and caused the nerves to twist and turn like tentacles before dissolving.
From the size, they seemed to be the brains of rats or other similar-sized creatures.
The ingredients added to the potions never failed to make his stomach squirm, even after years of experience.
The masked wizard took out a vial containing light-green oil-like substance and went near the cauldron. When the potion inside turned dark, inky green, he poured the contents of the vial.
After not being able to guess, Andy asked, "This is."
To which, Grindelwald answered, "Acromantula venom. I got it for free from your Headmaster. They seemed to have infested the Hogwarts forest."
"I don't know what he thinks, letting such a creature live near the young wizard."
There are that many Acromantula in the Forbidden Forest?
Andy's brain spun at the thought.
Thinking about their expense – ahem, their dangerous venom – and the safety of his fellow wizards. Andy decided to reduce their population for the greater good.
Looking at the liquid gold that was being poured into the cauldron, Andy's eyes shone with a golden galleon sign as he became even more determined.
While he was in his own thoughts, a voice interrupted his dream and made him turn to the voice.
"Today, Master Gornaid will avenge all the previous hatred. Hahaha haha, I hope you will have a good time." A thin, scrawny man pulled a blindfolded and tied witch toward the altar as the cloaked figures made way for them.
