Hogwarts' Talent Stealing Wizard

Chapter 3: Chapter 3 The Wizard’s Secret Realm? Entry Upgrade!

Chapter 3: The Wizard's Secret Realm? Entry Upgrade!

"Secret Realm!?"

Devero froze at the prompt.

But before he could explore this new function,

he heard a chilling sentence.

"The *Magical Potions and Draughts* I asked you to read—can you still recall it, or has your incompetence already wiped it from your memory?"

At this moment, the two entered Diagon Alley.

While Devero was curiously looking around,

generally speaking,

when Snape asked such a question,

it meant he was about to give Devero an oral quiz.

Under normal circumstances,

if Devero said he didn't remember,

(after all, who could memorize an entire book of over a hundred pages? Not everyone is Hermione!)

Snape would use his signature tone

to mock Devero.

If Devero answered that he did remember,

Snape would throw out a few extremely tricky questions,

leaving Devero speechless,

and then proceed to mock him even more harshly.

To be honest,

he originally thought Snape was only a complete jerk to Gryffindors.

Turns out, he's just a complete jerk!

But this time, he wouldn't get the chance to mock.

"I remember, sir."

Devero answered with utmost confidence.

Now with the Potion Genius entry,

the potion books he had read before could be instantly recalled!

Snape raised an eyebrow under his black hair,

seemingly surprised that this usually timid kid

was so confident today.

But then he gave a cold smirk.

This brat might have some talent, but Snape knew exactly how much he was capable of.

A simple question would surely expose him.

"Tell me, Mr. Alexander, what is the main difference between aconite and wolfsbane?"

"Aconite and wolfsbane are actually different names for the same plant. Both refer to plants of the Aconitum genus, particularly Aconitum napellus. In potion-making, this plant is commonly used to prepare potions to counter werewolf transformations."

The moment Devero heard the question,

he immediately gave the standard answer.

Snape narrowed his eyes.

Although this question wasn't particularly difficult or obscure,

the fact that this kid could answer so confidently and fluently

was beyond Snape's expectations.

But he was Snape—how could one question end his probing?

"Answering one question correctly by luck proves nothing. Now tell me, if you were to brew a Draught of Peace, which ingredient would you add first, and why?"

"In the process of brewing the Draught of Peace, the first ingredient to add is valerian roots. This is because valerian roots are one of the foundational ingredients, helping to calm emotions and lay the groundwork for the effects of subsequent ingredients."

"Go on, explain the importance of stirring clockwise seven times when preparing a basic healing potion."

"Stirring clockwise seven times is to ensure…"

"…"

After seven or eight basic potion questions,

Devero answered each one with ease.

Snape's expression gradually shifted from initial impatience to slight astonishment.

His mouth twitched, as if he wanted to ask more questions,

but in the end, he closed it

and continued leading Devero through Diagon Alley.

As they walked, he said,

"It seems you've mastered this textbook. So, shall we move on to the next book, or do you think this is sufficient?"

Another of Snape's signature taunts.

Devero, having endured this for a year, was immune.

"Of course not, sir. It would be great if we could buy another textbook at Flourish and Blotts later."

Devero was thrilled at this moment.

On one hand, seeing Snape's perpetually smug face

twist as if he'd swallowed a fly was incredibly satisfying.

On the other hand, he was genuinely excited to buy new books.

This Potion Genius entry was just too useful!

The potion knowledge he had studied before, some of which he had nearly forgotten,

was now perfectly clear in his mind.

Was this what true potion talent felt like?

He couldn't wait to learn new potion knowledge.

For the rest of the journey, Snape didn't quiz him further

and instead led Devero, with a grim demeanor, to all the shops in Diagon Alley that new students needed to visit,

purchasing the necessary items for school.

But Devero wasn't in the mood to keep teasing Snape with his new entry.

Instead, he took this chance to open the system

and check what this so-called Secret Realm Exploration function did.

He couldn't figure it out on his own,

so he directly asked the system to explain.

[Ding!]

[When the host enters a special location with a long history, the Secret Realm Exploration function will be triggered.]

[This function will reward the host based on their exploration progress in the location.]

[At 30% exploration, the host will receive Spell Proficiency Card x1.]

[At 60% exploration, the host will receive Entry Upgrade Card x1.]

[At 100% exploration, the host will receive Sage's Wisdom.]

[Spell Proficiency Card: Upon use, significantly increases the host's proficiency in a specific spell!]

[Entry Upgrade Card: Can upgrade any entry, except unique or red entries, by one level!]

[Sage's Wisdom: An extremely mysterious power. Unless you obtain it, you'll never know what it is!]

Wow!

The system had already brought him plenty of surprises,

so he had developed some resistance to it.

Something like the [Spell Proficiency Card] was expected.

Most systems would have something like that.

No big deal.

But he never expected there'd be a godly item that could upgrade any entry!

His heart could barely handle it.

Just think about it.

The Potion Genius entry was already so powerful,

allowing Devero to instantly absorb all the potion knowledge he had studied.

If it were upgraded another level,

would he even need to study?

Of course, he knew he'd still have to study,

but it would definitely be at an incredibly fast pace!

As for this [Sage's Wisdom], Devero read its description

and his mouth twitched.

Wasn't this just a mystery box?

Probably something like Slytherin's Parseltongue or ancient magic.

That sounded pretty strong too.

But with too much uncertainty, Devero decided that for every secret realm,

he'd aim to reach at least 60% exploration first,

securing the [Spell Proficiency Card] and [Entry Upgrade Card] before anything else!
