Hogwarts: I can infinitely load entries!

Chapter 3: Wizard's Secret Realm? Upgrade the entry!

"Secret Realm!?"

Devero was momentarily stunned when he saw the notification.

But before he could explore this new feature further, he heard a chilling remark.

"Do you still remember the 'Potion and Elixir' book I asked you to read earlier? Or has your incompetence already erased it from your memory?"

At this moment, the two of them entered Diagon Alley.

While Devero was still curiously looking around, he knew what was coming.

When Snape asked such a question, it usually meant another round of oral questioning for Devero.

In most cases, if Devero said he didn't remember (after all, who could memorize an entire book with hundreds of pages? Not everyone is Hermione!), Snape would mock him with his signature tone.

But if Devero claimed to have remembered, Snape would ask several tricky questions that would leave Devero speechless, followed by even harsher ridicule.

Honestly, Devero used to think Snape was only a complete jerk when dealing with Gryffindors, but now he was realizing he was just a complete jerk all around.

However, this time, Devero wasn't going to give Snape the chance to mock him.

"I remember, sir," Devero answered confidently.

Now that he had the Potion Genius entry, all the potion knowledge he had previously read was immediately recalled!

Snape raised an eyebrow beneath his black hair, seemingly surprised by the normally submissive Devero's confidence today. But then, he sneered.

The kid might have some talent, but Snape still knew how much he had learned. A simple question would surely expose him.

"Tell me, Mr. Alexander, what is the main difference between aconite and wolfsbane?"

"Aconite and wolfsbane are actually two names for the same plant. They both refer to plants from the Aconitum genus, especially Aconitum napellus. In potion-making, this plant is typically used in the preparation of potions that counteract the transformation of werewolves."

As soon as Devero heard the question, he immediately gave the standard answer.

Snape narrowed his eyes.

Although the question wasn't particularly difficult or off-topic, the fact that the boy could answer so confidently and smoothly was unexpected.

But of course, this was Snape—how could he end the test with just one question?

"Luck doesn't mean much, now tell me, if you were to brew a Draught of Peace, what ingredient would you add first and why?"

"In the preparation of Draught of Peace, the first ingredient to add is valerian roots. This is because valerian roots are one of the foundational ingredients and help calm the emotions, providing a base for the effects of the following ingredients."

"Continue. Explain the importance of stirring clockwise seven times when preparing basic healing potions."

"Stirring clockwise seven times ensures..."

And so on.

Devero easily answered seven or eight basic potion-related questions.

Snape's expression shifted from impatience to surprise.

He opened his mouth as if to ask more questions, but eventually closed it and continued leading Devero through Diagon Alley.

"As it seems, you've mastered this textbook. Now, should we continue to the next one, or do you think this is enough?"

It was Snape's trademark sarcasm.

Devero, who had been enduring this for a year, was now immune.

"Of course not, sir. It would be wonderful if I could buy a new textbook at Florean Fortescue's shop later."

Devero was genuinely pleased.

On one hand, he was looking forward to seeing Snape's usual arrogant face turn sour, which was quite satisfying.

On the other hand, he was genuinely eager to buy a new book.

This Potion Genius entry was proving to be so useful!

The potion knowledge he had once nearly forgotten was now vividly restored in his mind.

Is this the true potion talent?

Devero couldn't wait to learn more about new potions.

For the rest of the journey, Snape didn't continue testing him. Instead, he gloomily led Devero through all the essential shops in Diagon Alley to buy the supplies needed for school.

However, Devero was no longer interested in teasing Snape with his new entries.

Instead, he took this opportunity to open the system and explore the so-called "Secret Realm Exploration" feature.

He couldn't make much sense of it, so he decided to let the system explain.

[Ding!]

[The "Secret Realm Exploration" function is triggered when the host enters a place with a long history.]

[This function rewards the host based on the exploration progress of the location.]

[When exploration reaches 30%, the host will receive a Spell Proficiency Card X1.]

[When exploration reaches 60%, the host will receive a Word Entry Upgrade Card X1.]

[When exploration reaches 100%, the host will receive the Wisdom of the Ancients.]

[Spell Proficiency Card: Using it will greatly increase the host's proficiency in a specific spell!]

[Word Entry Upgrade Card: Can upgrade any entry (except Unique and Red entries) by one level!]

[Wisdom of the Ancients: An incredibly mysterious power. Unless the host obtains it, they will never know what it truly is!]

Wow!

This system had already given him many surprises.

Though he had become somewhat resistant to it, something like the [Spell Proficiency Card] was somewhat expected.

Most systems probably had something like that.

But he never expected to encounter such a powerful item that could upgrade any word entry!

His heart couldn't quite handle the excitement.

Just imagine.

Now that the Potion Genius entry was so powerful, it helped Devero instantly absorb all the potion knowledge he had learned.

What would happen if it were upgraded?

Would he not need to learn at all?

Of course, he knew he would still need to learn.

But he would certainly learn at an incredibly fast pace!

And as for the [Wisdom of the Ancients], Devero raised an eyebrow at the description.

Wasn't that just a "blind box"?

It probably contained some Slytherin snake-tongue or ancient magic stuff.

Thinking about it, it sounded quite powerful, but the uncertainty was too high.

Devero decided that for every "Secret Realm", he would at least explore it to 60% to get the [Spell Proficiency Card] and [Word Entry Upgrade Card] before moving on to the next.
