129. Attention-grabbing battle (2)
What else does Elaine like besides music?
The question didn't sound difficult, but it made Harry and the others think about it for a long time without coming to a conclusion.
Elaine has never been involved in the pastimes of young wizards. She does not play Quidditch, wizard chess, or Gobstone. She usually either reads or plays the piano and sings. Her life is as monotonous as Hermione's.
But it doesn’t seem right to say that she likes reading and studying.
Unlike Hermione who really likes books and will concentrate when she gets them, Elaine has criticized textbooks several times in the common room; she will complain that there are too many homeworks and that studying is too boring and cumbersome. She will throw the books aside and run to talk to them. Others are chatting or playing the piano, but their attitudes are very different.
If you think about it carefully, although Elaine can talk to anyone, the only person she is really close to is Hermione.
"Sorry, I can't think of it." Harry said distressedly, "There is still a gap between boys and girls."
"Harry's right," Ron said, spreading his hands. "Besides, I've only known her for a year."
"I am a Slytherin student." Daphne replied, holding her chin. "I don't usually have much interaction with Gryffindor, and Elaine has never replied to my letters in the past."
"I just met her last week." Ginny said innocently.
After taking turns, the four of them looked at Hermione at the same time. Miss Granger's face turned red as they stared at her.
"Why are you all staring at me?"
"If you want to say who among us understands Elaine best, it must be you. You are her best friend." Harry analyzed rationally, "In school, you are tired of being together every day. If you don't even know Elaine, It’s even less possible for us to know.”
"Before entering Hogwarts, you and Elaine went to the same Muggle elementary school." Daphne added. "Having been classmates for four years, I should know a lot about Elaine. Your relationship is so good that I'm even jealous."
"That's right." Ron nodded repeatedly and said. "Compared to Daphne, I think you are more like the mistress of the Shafiq family. She can't even turn on the TV."
As soon as he finished speaking, the bottle of Coke on the table crashed directly into his mouth and spread all over him.
"Weasley, shut up." Daphne snorted and waved the wand on her hand, "Don't make me cast a spell to shut you up forever."
"You've already cast a curse." Harry looked with great sympathy at Ron, who fell to the ground with his mouth covered, entangled with the bottle in his mouth. "So Hermione, you know a thing or two, right?"
"Yeah, I know." Hermione frowned in embarrassment. "But I don't think it's useful."
"I want to know anything about Elaine." Daphne said decisively. "Whether it works or not."
"Well, I have heard Elaine say before: only food and music can comfort her heart." Hermione glanced at Elaine, and seeing that she continued to study without caring, she said frankly, "I think, it's delicious. Or special food will do, but it’s just like music, together we can’t compare to Elaine with just one hand, and there’s no way to attract her.”
"Good food?" Ginny thought thoughtfully and glanced at Harry secretly. "Cooking is very important."
"Damn it." Daphne said frustratedly, "This happens when the elves are not here."
"The elves can't help. Elaine is better at craftsmanship than them." Hermione shrugged, "I just said it's useless. Instead of starting from this aspect, why not just concentrate on studying magic with us?" Learning is a joy.”
Hearing her last words, Harry and Daphne snorted at the same time, Ginny closed the book with a wry smile, and Ron was still dueling with the Coke bottle.
"What about the snacks from the wizarding world?" Harry hesitated for a moment, then suggested, "Those things are quite interesting. Although they taste very ordinary, they are very novel and interesting."
"The definition of delicious food is delicious food, not fun food." Hermione said in her usual preaching tone, "If she really liked those snacks, these are not the snacks we have now."
"By the way, maybe Honeydukes snacks are okay. They sell a lot of exclusive special candies." Daphne seemed to have a good idea, but she immediately lowered her shoulders, "But we can't go to Hogsmeade until the third year. School starts next week and it’s too late for owl mail order.”
"Honeydukes who?" Harry asked curiously.
Hermione shook her head, Daphne was still talking to herself, Ron's wrestling with the Coke can was almost over, and Elaine ignored them from beginning to end, as if the only thing left in her world was that little notebook.
"Th-those are candy stores." Ginny was the only one who could answer the question, so she stammered. "Next to Hogwarts, next to Hogwarts, in the village of Hogsmeade, it's very popular that third- and third-year students can go to the village on the weekends."
"Well, besides music and food, there are other things," Harry said with a headache. "Not just hobbies, but also animals, plants, people you admire, anything Elaine cares about, etc., anything."
"I know that, Elaine cares about Hermione." Ron said as he finally broke free of the Coke can. "And her father seems to be having trouble recently─"
"Shut up Ron," Hermione said angrily, "or I'll use another spell to shut you up."
"Okay, I'm just saying. Thank you for reminding me first."
"Animal, try Puff Down." Ginny picked up the orange and put it on the table, poking it with her wand.
The ball of creamy yellow fur rolled on the table, past the snack bags and empty cups occupied by Banban, and rolled to Elaine's ink bottle.
Under the attention of the four people, Elaine continued to read with a calm expression.
However, she stretched out a hand and held down the furry ball that continued to roll forward - if it went any further it would knock over the ink bottle - she squeezed it a few times and pushed it back.
Fluffy rolled back into Ginny's arms.
"Okay." Daphne looked at Hermione and asked seriously. "Is there a way for me to be like Pu Rongrong, with soft fur all over my body? I can transform into Pu Rongrong through transformation."
"I think we won't learn that until senior year, and besides, you're going to turn into a fluffy yellow ball monster just because Elaine can pinch." Harry looked at Daphne as if he had seen a ghost, "I don't think Elaine If she likes Pu Rong Rong, she just squeezes it twice."
Harry didn't quite understand why Puff Rong was so good, especially since he was woken up by a long tongue sticking out of his nostrils in the middle of his sleep the day before yesterday. Although Hermione explained to him that Puff Rong did this just to eat his dry boogers, he I just don't like this kind of creature.
I don’t want to eat anything, but I insist on eating boogers.
"Purong Rong is cute, not a monster." Daphne refuted seriously, "And Elaine not only pinches, she also rubs. Even if I become a monster, I would like to be rubbed by Elaine twice."
"Then just ask her." Harry was speechless. "It's just a couple of rubs, it's not a big deal."
"Because she just had a secret kiss." Hermione sighed helplessly and said. "According to previous experience, Elaine will use magic to keep her away as a punishment. This situation will last for about two days."
"Let me tell you, how many times did you kiss her before Hermione had this kind of experience?" Ron asked with a solemn expression.
