Chapter 10: Chapter 10: Not in a bad way
"I think you're insane!" Draco said before standing up from the unusually comfortable couch.
"I will follow my master's will," Gina said, and Obelia smiled noticing the blank expression on his face, not seeming surprised at all.
Draco noticed her small smile and continued, "Why in the world would you want to become a dark lord?" Once he calmed down a bit he sat back down slowly waiting for her answer.
"Well… What can I say? I'm an activist." Obelia said in a joking tone, now she knew, Draco here wasn't the Draco from the movie or novel, he seemed a bit too kind.
"There are many things wrong with the wizard world, prejudice, crime, corruption." She said before casually standing up and walking towards Draco.
"Wizards just need… a push in the right direction," Obelia said sitting next to Draco smiling. 'I'm kidding, I just want to free the Elves and Animals who have suffered under wizards, but he doesn't have to know that.'
"You're insane, it will never work," Draco said moving away from Obelia who had an unsettling smile.
"Draco, I know things, a lot of things, I've studied for years, It will work, I just need help," Obelia said trying to lure Draco into her plan.
"… With what?" Draco asked hesitantly, looking around uneasily.
"I need a lot of jewels to store magic in them, but since my family is away I can't exactly ask, and if Gin or I went to get them people will get curious," Obelia said taking out a list of Jewels she needed. 'Each of them has their affinities, what a pain.'
"… Is that it?" Draco asked again, not believing Obelia at all, looking at the list full of jewel names. 'I can get my hands on these easily, but why do I feel like I'm forgetting some things?'
'Well I was going to ask for blood…' Obelia thought for a second before deciding not to reveal too much of her motives, right now she only needed someone who could help her get the simple stuff, the rest would naturally fall into her hands.
"I have no plans on becoming a dark lord," Obelia took a small pause before continuing, "I only said that because that's what people will call me."
"What do you mean by that?" Draco asked hesitantly, noticing Obelia's change in expression.
"I want to help people who have been led astray, while some people think they don't deserve help I do," Obelia said, before looking down at her pocket watch. 'I'm gonna smack the Ministry of Magic, they have had it too good for too long.'
Obelia knew the Ministry of Magic was full of corrupt people, who limited others' use of magic and used it for themselves. Slowly, an evil smile formed on her face. "You know, not everyone sees a hero as a hero, and not everyone sees a villain as a villain."
"So you just want to help them? That's… surprising." Draco said, remembering her family's background and how both of them landed in Slytherin and were already known as troublemakers since the start of school.
"Yeah, but it's a small sacrifice to make for salvation." Obelia stopped for a brief moment, "for their salvation."
Obelia got up slowly and pulled out a silvery cube from her earring, "Gin, place this near the entrance, right in the center of the floor."
Obelia quickly pulled out her pocket watch and noticed it was getting quite late, they needed to return to Hogwarts soon. 'Everyone needs sleep to stay alive.'
Obelia looked at Draco who seemed to be lost in thought before clapping her hands, "It's time to go, we need to get back to Hogwarts before anyone notices we are missing."
Draco nodded slowly still thinking about everything Obelia said, Obelia noticed and continued to speak, "You don't have to decide to help me now, you can accept or refuse whenever." Obelia walked towards the common room exit slowly, waiting for Draco to follow her.
"I'll set up a one-time waypoint for us to use to get back to Hogwarts, let's go," Obelia said, once she said that Draco and she remained silent until they got back to Hogwarts.
___
"Ugh, will I ever get used to this?" Draco asked her, he wasn't on the floor like the first time they traveled a long distance, but he still had head-splitting pain and his knees were shaking.
Obelia on the other hand started to stretch her arms, legs, and back. "You will, but once you get used to it you'll feel your body stiffen every time you teleport."
Draco noticed they were not teleported into the hall they were in before jumping out of the window last time, but in the Slytherin common room, which was empty and quiet.
He noticed a small silvery cube similar to the one Obelia handed her house-elf.
"So that's how you did it?" Draco asked making his way to the silvery cube, before he got the chance to grab it Obelia snatched it and smiled.
"It's Alchemy, well… to be specific it's an artificially made artifact," Obelia said before carefully placing the cube in her pocket and looking back at Draco. "I'm going to wash up and go to bed, good night."
Draco who still had a lot in his mind only nodded his head, walking back to his room silently.
___
"Where have you been?" Pansy asked Obelia, Daphne was next to her but sitting on her bed.
"I've been searching for Eno, but I gave up and decided to wash before continuing to search tomorrow," Obelia said with a smile, lying was one of her favorite things to do after all, and made her way to her bed.
"Eno! What the heck!" Obelia noticed the small black cat play with her silver yarn and frowned. 'You couldn't have chosen a worse time to appear.'
"You… must suck at searching," Pansy said before looking at the black cat on Obelia's bed. "Wel that's enough for today, light out." Pansy clapped her hands and the candle went out immediately, leaving only the moon to light to room.
