Chapter 21: Chapter 21: Little brother
"Run, Aria, run!" Her father's voice echoed in her head as she darted through the forest, sweat pouring down her face. The eerie whispers of the night and the distant hoot of owls screamed danger. She didn't know why she was running but she knew she had to. Desperation clawed at her as she searched for a hiding spot.
Finally, she found refuge–a massive tree with thick bark, its shadows offering temporary shelter. Pressing herself against it, she tried to quiet her ragged breathing. Her eyes scanned the darkness, her heart pounding wildly as she strained to see what had been chasing her.
And then… silence.
The forest seemed unnaturally still, as though time itself had frozen. Her heart hammered against her ribcage, her nerves strung tight. Just as she allowed herself a moment to breathe, a soothing breath caressed the back of her neck, sending a cold shiver racing down her spine. The sensation lingered, playful yet chilling, like it was playing along in seeking her.
"Boo!"
The voice thundered, and Aria whipped around in panic, only to find... nothing. The emptiness mocked her—yet again. she screamed, jolting awake with a gasp. Her body shot upright, breaths ragged, her mind struggling to separate the nightmare from reality as she sat up.
But reality wasn't much kinder.
Gleaming sapphire eyes stared down at her. Her entire body froze, every hair standing on end as she let out another scream, her sudden movement causing her to lose her balance and tumble off the bed. She looked at those piercing eyes seeking solace, but they just looked into hers ominously.
She closed her eyes, bracing herself for the hard thudding of her body but she felt her body hanging in the air. It was the stranger with his arm wrapped around her mid-air, preventing her from the fall. Their faces were mere inches apart, their breaths mingling as her heart beat, tempting to jump out.
Aria looked between the two orbs, she couldn't make out his face due to the darkness that loomed forward but her body dangled in the air as she held her weight, fear of falling again if he decided to drop her, which she honestly hoped didn't happen and within seconds he pulled her up, steadying her like she didn't weighed nothing.
She dared to glance up at the figure. The dim room obscured his features, but those piercing eyes held hers captive, unyielding.
"Why were you staring at me while I was asleep?" she demanded, flipping on the bedside lamp. Light spilled into the room, revealing his perfectly chiseled features. Yet, his gaze remained inscrutable.
Just when she was about giving him the lecture of a lifetime, his deep, commanding voice cut through the tension.
"I need you to help me with something."
The words hung in the air, heavy with unspoken meaning. Aria narrowed her eyes, the remnants of her nightmare mingling with unease. Was that the reason he wanted to give her a heart attack? But what could he possibly want from her? That she didn't know.
Frowning, she got up and walked over to the small fridge in her room. Pulling out a bottle of water, she drank deeply, letting the cool liquid soothe her frayed nerves. Nightmares weren't new to her. They'd haunted her since her father's death, a torment she had to navigate alone since her mom was too broken to lend a hand. Having nothing else to do, she had to live with it till she was a bit older, where she was able to go to a pharmacist letting out her worry. The pharmacist, being one of her papa's friends, booked a session with a therapist and if there was anything she had learnt, water did a lot in toning it down. Over time the nightmares went away. But it surfaced again, only this time, they seem—weird and looked the same.
She gulped down the water like her life depended on it. As she poured on another glass, she decided to hear him out.
"What can I help you with ?" She asked, finally facing him, her glass full. "Am listening". The mischievous gleam in his eyes sent a wave of apprehension through her.
"You left a wound while treating me earlier," he said, his voice smooth but carrying an edge. "I assume you neglected it or worse still, you didn't bother." his voice brimming with excitement as he continued.
"It is around a hidden place or if I should come quite plainly, it is on the glans of my little brother". Aria looked as confused as ever. What was he talking about?
"Am sorry, but I didn't see your brother when I saved you, talk more of attending to you yesterday, I don't know how I missed….?" She strained, her brows furrowing in confusion.
"It's on the head of my cock if I need to spell it out, but you doctors would call it a penis—my penis." He let out bluntly, loud enough for her eardrum to purchase. Aria choked on her drink, coughing loudly as she banged her chest, gasping for air looking at the sole cause of her misfortune, but he just sat there like he hadn't caused anything.
"No…! I am never doing that" she managed to say with her eyes tearing up.
"Are you afraid you'll wake up the beast in him? Don't worry your little head, he won't bite… yet." His voice was persuasive, coated in a cunning mischief that screamed danger.
"No I am never, ever going to do that"
"But you are a doctor and watching your patient suffer should be a mortal sin against what you stand for" he voiced menacingly low. But Aria was not having any of that. She was a medical student, aspiring to be a pediatrician, never dreamt of being a doctor for such… *cough* thing, if you know what I mean. She knew she couldn't do that. He would have to see another doctor for that because she was not touching it.
"Am not going to do that, I have not seen an adult one and am not ready to do that. And who told you I ignored it. How am I supposed to know what goes on down there on a patient? I'm not a pervert!" Her declaration only seemed to amuse him as the stranger stood up closing in on her with his towering build looming over her, she instinctively took steps backwards. Aria felt like she had awakened a lion and he was going to devour her without mercy, she could feel the rage surging.
He took slow yet steady strides towards her, his gaze enthralled on hers cornering her to the wall, her back finally reaching its limit. He bent down, his face dangerously close to hers. Those sapphire eyes bored into her void of emotion, but they were deep enough to pierce into one's soul, as if he were trying to get into her head—to control her.
You will do as I said." He commanded as lightning struck suddenly, the thunder rumbling, causing Aria's body to jolt. Her eyes, imprisoned by his, seemed hypnotically enchanted, obeying his every command.
Will she do it?
