Highschool DxD: Damn, I'm OP as Fuck!

Chapter 56: Chapter 55: Reaching the Underworld

"What?"

"I have to go home with Renji!?"

Seated on the living room sofa, Rias looked at Grayfia in shock, clearly caught off guard.

The reason for Grayfia's visit was simple—she had come to inform Rias and Renji that they were both expected to return to the Gremory estate in the Underworld.

"Correct."

"Since Sir Renji successfully defeated Riser Phoenix, he has now, in principle, become the fiancé of Lady Rias and a recognized member of the Gremory family."

"Lord Zeoticus, Lady Venelana, and your brother, Lord Sirzechs, wish to formally meet him and discuss your future."

"Additionally, this visit will serve as the official engagement ceremony. This was the unanimous decision of the Gremory household."

Grayfia's voice remained composed and professional, her words carrying undeniable authority.

The implications were clear—the Gremory family intended to solidify Renji's place as Rias's fiancé and formally introduce him to the high-ranking nobles of the Underworld.

After all, word of Renji's identity as both the new Red Dragon Emperor and the reincarnation of King Arthur had already spread.

With these two legendary titles attached to him, the Gremorys weren't about to let anyone else take advantage of the situation.

As a noble family, they understood that securing such an individual was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

---

"So… my father, mother, and even Onii-sama were behind this?"

Rias crossed her arms and sighed.

"They're really in a hurry, aren't they? It's like they can't wait to marry me off."

Despite her words, there was no frustration in her tone—nor any resistance in her expression.

In fact, a hint of satisfaction flickered in her crimson eyes.

Clearly, she wasn't opposed to the engagement.

Renji, sitting beside her, smirked at her reaction but said nothing.

---

An hour later, Renji, Rias, and her peerage boarded the train bound for the Underworld.

Inside the luxurious private cabin, the group settled in for the journey.

Asia, sitting across from Rias, fidgeted nervously.

"U-Um… President Rias?"

"Hmm?"

Asia hesitated for a moment before clenching her hands together.

"Wh-What is the Underworld like? Will there be scary demons there?"

She looked up at Rias, her soft blue eyes full of nervous anticipation.

It was her first time traveling to the Underworld, and her only knowledge of it came from myths and legends, which often described it as a dark and terrifying realm filled with bloodthirsty demons.

Of course, Asia had completely forgotten that she herself was now a devil—albeit a recently reincarnated one.

Rias chuckled.

"Don't worry, Asia," she said warmly. "The Underworld isn't as terrifying as the stories make it seem."

"Ever since the reformist faction defeated the old nobility over a thousand years ago, the Underworld has changed dramatically. It has grown into a peaceful and prosperous society."

"When we arrive, you'll see for yourself."

Asia visibly relaxed, nodding at Rias's reassuring words.

Renji and Akeno, who were seated nearby, watched the exchange with amusement.

---

As the train continued its journey, Renji leaned back in his seat, his mind wandering.

He suddenly recalled the look Medusa gave him before he left home.

A look filled with silent protest.

After all, he had decided not to bring her along on this trip.

Since this visit was mainly for the engagement ceremony, there was no real danger, especially within the Gremory family estate—home to one of the Four Great Satans, Sirzechs Lucifer.

Bringing Medusa didn't seem necessary.

Still…

She had made sure to give him a piercing, wordless glare before he left.

Renji sighed.

"...I'll have to get her a gift to make up for it," he muttered to himself.

Akeno, hearing him, smirked. "Ara~ Renji-kun, already thinking about another woman while we're on our way to your engagement?"

Renji shot her a flat look. "Shut up, Akeno."

She giggled.

---

"Alright, we're here!"

Rias's voice snapped Renji out of his thoughts.

He turned to look out the train window—and was met with a breathtaking sight.

The endless void of dimensional space had disappeared, replaced by a vast blue sky and white clouds.

Below them, a massive estate stretched across the land like an island, surrounded by a shimmering protective barrier.

A castle of grand proportions stood at its center, with numerous smaller structures scattered across the vast grounds.

Dragons and other flying creatures soared through the sky, adding to the surreal beauty of the scene.

"...So this is the Gremory territory, huh?"

Renji had to admit—it was impressive.

As the train descended toward the estate, the protective barrier opened, allowing them to pass through without resistance.

---

The moment they stepped off the train, a group of figures stood waiting for them at the castle's entrance.

Leading them were three individuals—

Two red-haired men who bore a striking resemblance to Rias, and a beautiful woman with long brown hair.

Beside them, Grayfia stood in her maid uniform, as composed as ever.

Renji instantly recognized who they were.

Rias's family.

The older red-haired man was Zeoticus Gremory, head of the Gremory family.

The younger one, who appeared in his early twenties, was Sirzechs Lucifer, one of the Four Great Satans.

And the elegant woman beside them was Venelana Gremory, Rias's mother.

Their presence alone spoke volumes—

The Gremory family had gathered in full force to greet him.

Renji raised an eyebrow.

"...Well, damn," he muttered under his breath. "That's a hell of a welcome party."

He had expected someone to greet them—

But not the entire upper echelon of the Gremory family.

Rias, noticing his reaction, smiled knowingly.

"Surprised?" she whispered.

Renji let out a low chuckle.

"You could say that."

And with that, the group walked forward—

Straight into the heart of the Gremory estate.
