High School DxD: “The future Harem King”

Chapter 9: CH 9

A Sudden Encounter – Meeting the Goddess of the Hearth

"Ugh… Hephaestus is so mean! How could she kick my friend out like that?"

"And to make it worse, she told me that if I don't find a Familia member soon, she's kicking me out too!"

"My adorable child, where are you? Please show up already! I don't want to be homeless!"

As Su Hai made his way toward the Adventurer's Guild, a small figure walked from the opposite end of the street.

She had black twin ponytails, a petite frame, and wore a blue ribbon tied around her chest in an oddly eye-catching way.

Her expression alternated between frustration and desperation, and as she wandered aimlessly, she muttered complaints to herself.

Then—

"Ah!"

Because both were distracted—

Su Hai, eager to reach the Guild, and the small girl, not watching where she was going—

The two of them collided head-on.

With a small yelp, the tiny girl fell backward, landing on the ground with a soft thud.

The Girl with the Blue Ribbon

Su Hai blinked, momentarily caught off guard.

His reflexes and perception had become incredibly sharp after all his training—

Yet somehow, this girl had gotten close without him noticing.

That was… strange.

"I'm sorry, are you alright?"

He immediately reached out a hand to help her up, offering an apologetic smile.

"I was in a hurry to find the Adventurer's Guild and wasn't paying attention. I really didn't mean to bump into you."

The girl pouted, rubbing her sore backside before looking up at him.

However, the moment she heard his words, her expression instantly brightened.

"Wait, did you say Adventurer's Guild?"

Her blue eyes sparkled with excitement as she suddenly grabbed onto his arm.

"Are you new to Orario? Are you here to become an adventurer?"

An Unexpected Proposal

Su Hai hesitated for a brief second, slightly surprised by her enthusiastic reaction.

Then, he nodded.

"Uh… yeah, that's right."

The moment she heard his confirmation, the girl practically beamed.

"Amazing! This must be fate!"

"In that case—"

"Do you want to join my Familia?"

"No! Please join my Familia!"

She clasped her hands together, looking at him with a pleading expression.

The Goddess' Identity

Su Hai's eyes flicked downward, noticing the distinct blue ribbon around her chest.

And in an instant, he realized—

"Blue ribbon?"

"Wait a minute…"

A petite loli-sized body, a trademark ribbon, and a childish personality—

It could only be one person.

Hestia.

The virgin goddess, known as the Goddess of the Hearth, and the future patron deity of Bell Cranel in DanMachi.

"Well… that was fast."

A Quick Decision – Joining Hestia's Familia

Su Hai smiled slightly.

To him, it didn't really matter which Familia he joined.

His main goal was simply to receive a Falna—the divine blessing that allowed adventurers to gain experience and grow stronger.

Besides, from what he remembered from the original story, Hestia was—

• Easygoing

• Not strict with rules

• Genuinely cared about her Familia

In other words, a great choice.

So without hesitation, Su Hai nodded.

"Alright, I'll join your Familia."

Hestia's Shock – Did She Just Win?

"Eh…?"

Hestia froze.

For a moment, she just stared at him, her expression filled with disbelief.

"Wait… really?"

Her voice trembled slightly, as if she was afraid she had misheard him.

In Orario, choosing a god was a big deal.

Most adventurers took their time, carefully picking a Familia that suited them best.

Hestia had already failed countless times in trying to recruit someone—

So she had expected another rejection.

But now—

A strong, confident adventurer had just agreed immediately.

It felt like a dream.

The First Familia Member

Su Hai smiled reassuringly and extended his hand.

"My name is Su Hai."

"It's a pleasure to be your first Familia member, Hestia-sama."

Hestia's eyes widened.

Then—

She suddenly broke into a huge grin.

"Yes! That's right! I am Hestia!"

"And as my first child, you get a special privilege!"

She puffed out her chest proudly, hands on her hips.

"You can call me by my name!"

Her voice was full of excitement, and she even added a playful head tilt.

Su Hai, meanwhile, watched her childish display and couldn't help but think—

"She's really lived for millions of years?"

The Ceremony – Receiving the Falna

Hestia suddenly grabbed his arm.

"Alright, Ahai! Let's hurry up and do the ceremony!"

"I'm staying at a friend's place, so we can use her house!"

She was practically dragging him along, her pace quick and excited.

It was clear that she was afraid he might change his mind.

Su Hai let her pull him along, chuckling to himself.

"Ahai?"

He raised an eyebrow at the nickname she had suddenly given him.

"Hestia, maybe you should pick another name?"

Hestia tilted her head, thinking for a moment.

"Hmm… then how about Hai-chan?"

"…"

Su Hai's eye twitched.

"Let's… stick with Ahai."

Faced with his quick compromise, Hestia grinned mischievously.

Clearly, she was just having fun teasing him.

Arriving at the Mansion

After walking for a while, they finally arrived at their destination.

Standing before them was a large mansion—

One that Su Hai recognized immediately.

Hestia clapped her hands together in excitement.

"Alright, Ahai! We're here!"

Su Hai exhaled, mentally preparing himself.

"Let's do this."
