Chapter 94 - Chapter 94: Suit
Chapter 94: Suit
“Fine-tuning might be necessary, but this is the finished product for now.”
“I see… so this is how it turns out. Interesting.”
Finally, my suit was completed.
It should have been traced from the original suit’s pattern, but it feels completely different.
It gives off a much softer impression.
The fabric weave lacks the meticulousness and uniformity, appearing somewhat rough.
But when I put on the sleeves, it somehow feels seasoned there.
Of course, there’s not much stiffness or drape to the fabric either.
When I move, fine wrinkles form, giving it a slightly bumpy appearance.
But surprisingly, it’s not bad at all.
The fabric shows deep shadows, giving it a sense of luxury.
And it feels light to wear.
Although the clothing itself is slightly heavier than before, it feels lighter when worn.
Since everything is hand-sewn, the sleeve attachment and such are done quite well, faithful to the shape of the shoulders and not hindering movement like before.
I’m not very knowledgeable about these things, but Thomas’ meticulous craftsmanship is evident in various places, achieving this light and comfortable fit.
Above all, this clothing feels harmonious with this world, and that’s pleasant.
It’s clear how much the original suit stood out in this world, how out of place it was.
“I like it. It’s much better than I imagined… but why is Thomas wearing the same jacket?”
“Well, I made various attempts with my own clothes… This is a splendid garment. I got so carried away like a kid, and I’m a bit sleep-deprived.”
Somehow, it turned out to be a matching jacket with Thomas, but well, it can’t be helped.
But… Thomas’ pants are quite different from my slacks.
They have a slightly loose drape, giving them a hybrid feel with those of this world.
“Indeed… if you pair them with these shoes, it looks better…”
“Yes, although Mr. Bonus’ structure is structurally excellent, it feels a bit cumbersome to move in.”
The shoes here are mostly sandals or leather shoes with heels like slippers.
The balance seems off with suit slacks.
“Can I get one of those made for me too?”
“It’s already prepared for you.”
“Oh wow, you’re right… impressive. How much?”
“No, this is on the house. In return, could I ask for your personal approval for my own use? It was mentioned earlier that this was to be kept confidential…”
“Oh, I don’t mind. Well… as for this clothing, it’s a collaborative development between the Bonus Company and Thomas’ shop, so feel free to take orders for it. Of course, no extra charge.”
As far as I’m concerned, I don’t mind if they inquire about the suit I brought in.
It’s something I’ll wear every day anyway.
Rather, it would be just right if it spread as a garment that the tailor and the fond merchant came up with as a hobby.
“Then… there’s another person I’d like to involve. He’s a fabric merchant…”
“Ah, the old man. It’s fine,I’ll leave it to you. It sounds interesting.”
“Thank you. In that case, from now on, orders from the Bonus Company will be fine with just the fabric cost.”
“That’s appreciated, but… is your business okay?”
“We’re actually quite profitable among tailors, and I think this garment will be in high demand in the future. Don’t worry about the profits.”
“That’s good then. Oh right, I want to order clothes for this guy too.”
I put my arm around Zamza, who had been quietly observing behind me, and pushed him in front of Thomas.
Zamza isn’t very well-received in this town, being a somewhat notorious oni man, so I was worried he might be scared, but Thomas didn’t seem to mind much.
Since Shiro and Gisella have already visited this shop many times, it’s probably fine now…
“Y-yeah, please.”
“Why are you nervous?”
“Well, I’m not used to this kind of thing…”
“Thomas, this guy is also my precious companion, Zamza. Make him look cool.”
“Of course. May I tailor him in the same …… suit as Mr. Bonus, only in a different fabric?”
“Right… this guy is big, and he handles combat like Kuro and the others. Can you tailor it to prioritize ease of movement over mine?”
“I understand the basic structure now, so I wanted to try various things. It’s a good opportunity.”
“I’m looking forward to it.”
Thomas seems quite excited.
I hope he doesn’t lose sleep over this again…
Instead of leaving it to the nervous Zamza, I chose the fabric for him and left the shop.
By the way, I put on the suit Thomas made and came out right away.
Thomas’ designed pants are also easy to move in.
It’s an excellent design that harmonizes well with the difficult combination of a jacket and sandals.
However, I’d like to make proper leather shoes someday.
“Gyaaah!”
“Bonus, you look cool now.”
“Looks good on you~ suits you well.”
“Thank you.”
Returning to the stall, everyone praised me.
Even if half of it was their kindness, judging from their expressions, the reception wasn’t bad at all.
I’m slightly overdressed with the tie, making it a bit stuffy, but it still feels better.
Indeed, dressing decently changes your mood.
I feel like my posture has improved somehow.
As I excitedly kept putting on the jacket multiple times and adjusting my tie, I felt eyes on me from the audience.
The regular customers seemed to be observing me with various expressions.
I see, is this how Kuro always feels…?
The old men are clearly looking at the clothes.
They are relatively affluent and always dress stylishly.
They talk about the interesting collar shape, beautiful silhouette, or how ‘Bonus would look better wearing it because he has short legs’.
Perhaps it met their standards to some extent.
But shut up, you old geezers.
As I observed the customers’ faces and searched for the reputation of the suit, my eyes met with Menas, who had the expression of a mother at a graduation ceremony.
Next to her were Edda and Gazat.
It seems like the three of them came to play.
“You look very good in it.”
“Ah, thank you…”
Since our eyes met, I was greeted with a nod and a voice.
Suddenly, I felt embarrassed about being so excited.
“Hahaha, Bonus, what’s with that? You look like a proper merchant now!”
“It’s a nostalgic outfit… Can I take a closer look?”
Edda is still as rude as ever.
Gazat, who likes fashionable items, eagerly took the bait as expected.
“Edda is as usual… And Gazat, you can look at the clothes, but don’t feel me up too much…”
“How about trying it on for a bit?”
“Sure.”
“Can I see it for a bit too?”
After that, Gazat and the old men snatched away the newly purchased jacket and left me abandoned inside.
I don’t mind them looking, but don’t wrinkle it too much…
Well, they seem to be handling it quite carefully, surprisingly, so it should be fine.
“Oh, Mr. Bonus. Um, c-can I have this kid?”
“No, you can’t…”
Ulara, who is becoming a regular customer, hugs Kohaku and asks while burying her face and taking a deep breath.
What is she doing…?
Gisella, who is watching from the side, also smiles wryly.
“Well, I’ll bring him along occasionally from now on.”
“P-please bring him along as much as possible!”
“Umm… Can I hold him too?”
“Big sister me too!”
“What are you doing?”
It seems the sisters from the tailor shop were chatting away at our stall.
Since the second daughter who came to call her is still here, they must have been chatting for quite a while.
Maybe they’re here for someone’s clothes fitting…?
Lately, they often come to play in between work.
Today, Ulara and Gisella are here with the four of us, relaxed around the same table.
Shiro and Kuro are making coffee.
Zamza seems to be trying on accessories with Melanie.
There’s something indescribable about the scene of a middle-aged woman happily buying accessories for a young and handsome man.
Well, I’m the one paying for it in reality.
I was thinking of offering to help with something, but there aren’t many customers at the moment.
The stall seems to be running smoothly even without me.
Since Shiro and Kuro are free now, they are taking turns feeding the chicks.
With nothing to do, I was vaguely thinking of going to the mercenary placement office to ask about Hajiramu when suddenly I was called from behind.
“Bonus. Give me some coffee.”
“―――――Azir?”
