HI3: I Don't Want to Be a Valkyrie

While the protagonist, Valkyrie Kallen, was playing a cultivation game in Sixth Serenade,

the true little pig Kallen—no... Kallen Kaslana—was facing the most critical moment of her life...

Kallen Kaslana, member of the prestigious Kaslana family—a lineage that, along with two others, upheld the Schicksal organization.

At this juncture, Schicksal was supported and controlled by these three great families: the Apocalypse family, representing the "Bishops"; the Schariac family, embodying the "Saintesses"; and the Kaslana family, symbolizing the "Knights".

Among them, the Schariac family possessed the ability to manipulate Honkai energy, while the Kaslana family inherently exhibited strong resistance to it. In contrast, the Apocalypse family—the very rulers of Schicksal—lacked the direct capabilities to oppose Honkai, unlike the other two clans.

Despite the cold gazes of his father and elder brother, and the lack of expectations from his clan, Otto displayed a side that set him apart from others.

Instead of indulging in a life of luxury befitting his status as the young master of the Apocalypse family, he ventured into his father's study.

There, he opened a door that previous Schicksal Heads had deemed taboo—Honkai. Thus, Otto began his clandestine research into this destructive force.

He showed a genius-level aptitude in the field of Honkai research, as if his very existence was destined to uncover the truth behind it. His successes drew him deeper into the study of Honkai...

He became indifferent to social ties and developed a cold heart. On the surface, he still appeared as a slightly arrogant noble, but deep down, his values were gradually diverging from common sense.

Otto's social interactions were mostly just pretenses, but his feelings towards his childhood sweetheart, Kallen Kaslana, were genuine.

Kallen was not only the youngest child of the Kaslana family but also Otto's only friend during his lonely childhood. Upon learning about Otto's research, the kind-hearted Kallen showed neither prejudice nor fear. Instead, she expressed understanding and admiration for his genius mind.

For Otto, this validation was something he had never received from anyone else, proving that Kallen was truly one of a kind. Thus, their friendship escalated into a one-sided affection by Otto towards Kallen.

Later... the head of the Apocalypse family inadvertently facilitated a marriage agreement between Otto and Kallen, causing even the non-religious Lord Otto to praise the divine.

Along with the Schicksal Overseer, the Apocalypse family members were immersed in the joy of a well-executed plan.

However, despite all that Otto did for Kallen, she... who always treated him like her closest female confidant, merely gave him a thank you card.

"Kallen, don't be so stubborn. Give up the relic, and considering your past contributions to the Schicksal, the elders might be lenient. But if you still refuse to repent... even God won't save you!"

On board a massive cruise ship, Kallen stood at the bow, one hand cradling a black box in her arms and the other holding a gun, aiming it at those who were once her companions—those with whom she had shared countless dangers.

Before Kallen, a squad of Valkyries, numbering about a dozen, had cornered her.

"I won't hand it over to you, and I certainly won't let those people continue using it for their inhuman experiments. Never!" Kallen clutched the black box tightly to her chest. Even in the face of death... she felt no fear. For Kallen, who had sworn from a young age to protect justice and the people, could never bear to witness such atrocities continue.

Kallen, born in 1453, was the eldest daughter of the 29th head of the Kaslana family, Francis.

With her fierce and straightforward personality, she was the most exceptional warrior within her clan. At sixteen years old, Kallen passed all the trials to become the captain of an elite Degurechaff unit, a group handpicked to combat Honkai and protect humanity.

The Valkyries before her had once been her subordinates and juniors.

"Captain Kallen, whatever the higher-ups decide is their business. As Valkyries, our only duty is to fight Honkai," said one Valkyrie who used to be under Kallen's care, pleading with her once again on behalf of all the Degurechaff unit.

Kallen had betrayed the Valkyrie Corps, abandoned the Schicksal organization, and stolen their most valuable asset... the box containing the Honkai Source crystal.

Even though Kallen had once been their best member, Schicksal wouldn't forgive her.

"It's impossible! The contents of this box are like an unstable bomb, ready to explode at any moment and kill many instantly."

Yet they placed this object within the city, studying it openly. If any of its contents were to leak, that city with over a million inhabitants would instantly become a city of the dead. Such a thing I could never allow."

Kallen's voice was resolute.

Honkai energy was incredibly terrifying. Previously, the protagonist Sixth Serenade(Author(Not TL) note: To avoid repeating names, let's just call her Serenade) had only been able to make use of very small Honkai shards, which was why she could only infect one creature at a time.

But a complete Honkai crystal, especially... if the Honkai energy from the box in Kallen's hand were to leak out here... it would be nothing short of catastrophic, a difference of many orders of magnitude.
