Chapter 32: c32

Envoys of the Iron Throne

-poniente. Asgard. Winterfell-

-Mr.'s office-

Harry and Ashara were sitting together in the lord's office. It was the day of the most internal reports. It was fun. In most of the known world the idea of his wife having power was a fucking joke however in his honest opinion if people were idiots for not recognizing the potential then that's on them.

The reports were quarterly and were intended to complete the information. Among the reports, it was worth highlighting the importance of internal reports, banking affairs, education, health and foreign relations. They had been working on most of the reports all fucking morning.

They were a team. The two collaborated together to enable efficient problem solving. His wife was especially protective of the bank because, as she kindly put it: she was his baby. May the gods have mercy on any moron who thinks he can get his hands on her shit.

The two Starks were also having incredibly difficult days. Shelia and Elia recently had children. A girl for Shelia. A child for Elia. The two women were happy. But it had meant locating substitutes in the education and information sector. After all she wanted to give him some time with her babies.

The good news is that both women had people already selected. They weren't idiots. And well it was better that way. The spy network was working very well although they had reported a number of problems. Namely a severe increase in everyone's and her mother's paranoia about what they were potential skinchangers.

The south was using the citadel records. Records created from illegally taking information from the resources of many houses especially those of his kingdom. He had been unhappy. Fortunately the spy force was far from idiotic. Using runes they set up the equivalent of bugs and then used their trading network to run the spy network.

This was vital to make an analysis of the evolution of growth of the southern kingdoms that were naturally taking in their own way what was the emergence of the new Power of Asgard. Even if years had passed since they became independent of what was the seven kingdoms

To begin with, Jon Arryn had begun a slow but heavy work with the intention of consolidating the kingdoms, restoring them and strengthening them. He started with the obvious most important kingdoms reasoning in his mind that members like the Lannisters were more important. Or perhaps he was thinking that it was more important to keep those who paid the kingdom's debts satisfied.

You see through their espionage network and commercial sector they discovered that Robert Baratheon was a pointless waste of time. The man spent money on each alcoholic drink. The bad news about this is that the money they had had to be distributed in a much more limited way. The South's progress in recovering from it was slow.

Gullport was rebuilt but was now under the command of House Arryn's cadet branch seeing what Lord Crafton did. Although from what he had heard it was mainly because Jon was nothing short of satisfied with the previous house. The only reason he got the man back was his reputation.

After having the man once again in the valley he was tried and sent to the wall...at least he tried. He made it clear that he would no longer receive criminals at the Wall. If they wanted to sacrifice them for him, that was fine. But if anyone thought that he would let potential enemies set foot on the wall, they were more than wrong.

Their espionage division allowed them to know more juicy things. Tywin was desperately seeking to make a stronger marriage union with them. Cerenna's loss to Dareon was unacceptable but well right now Cerenna had more power in wealth than them. Because the mines were drying up.

He had to admit that he found it funny. But after eight thousand years it was to be expected. Apparently Tywin wanted to get his hands on the kingdom's gold mines and thought he could get away with a marriage contract. In fact he was thinking of pushing for his daughter Belladonna to marry Steffon Baratheon and thus have access to the mines.

But going further, his spy network showed him that currently if it could be said that there was a kingdom in trouble, it was the Tullys. The practical way of destroying his realm had hit him severely. The Mallisters were emerging as the greatest power in the region and slowly but surely they were appropriating more and more allies.

The only ones who could prevent the advance were the Lannisters. The marriage of Catlyn Tully to Jaime Lannister and of Elbert Arryn to Lysa Tully. Well the marriage was plagued with problems in the second case. Lysa was crazy and kept looking for excuses to travel to the capital that would end badly from what he could tell.

Harry had to admit that he wondered what would happen when the Lord of the Vale found out that his current wife was having an affair with the Master of Coin. He was very tempting to let said man know. But then he reasoned that it would be for another time. At this moment Lysa was the weak point of the valley that could be exploited which was excellent news.

However, the rumor of greatest interest was the situation of Doran Martell. There was apparently suspicion running among the lords of Dorne that Doran had planned to make his sister a martyr in order to completely unify the kingdom in case of defeat against his enemies. He talks about being despicable.

Doran was losing control of his kingdom. Very slowly. The lords were losing respect for him and it was clear that sooner or later he would have to abandon the position of lord of Dorne. He couldn't say that he was sorry. A person willing to sacrifice his sister deserved the worst.

The other sector that was seeing a lot of changes was the education sector. Fuck the amount of changes. Through the educational sector new and improved inventions were being formed. You gave them ideas and they made them possible. If you gave them the chance, humanity could be as incredible as it was destructive.

However, what surprised many was his latest idea: the steam engine. The idea of using the steam engine combined with runes was a very attractive one. He wanted to form his own railway and also wanted to use the steam engine in more experiments. Renala had put a group of researchers to work on it.

But the most surprising thing were certain changes. More and more people came to his kingdom to learn. Doctors. Masters of other trades. Even teachers sent their children to be educated. The maesters were going down in history for their outdated methods. It didn't help that word soon began to spread that they couldn't be trusted.

Harry would have scoffed at that but as a person who knew strategy he knew better than anyone that by strategy logic the best way to win is to have at least one of the powers under control. The teachers were in control of the power of education. When people realized this they were not happy.

Thanks to innovative advances they had been able to set up hospitals and much more in several free cities to offer in exchange for payment from the city for keeping people healthy. Although there were problems at first, a detailed economic explanation of how beneficial it is to the workers' health kept everyone and their mother satisfied.

I didn't want to say there weren't problems. Damn there were already big ones. You see, it turns out that in the city of Pentos there was a certain magister. He had three different businesses. One was cheese production. Another was the production of rare and exotic goods that he then sold at auction. The last one was that of slaves. It was not to be liked by him.

The man had tried everything and his mother to put the hospital under his personal control. It had gotten to the point that he gave him an ultimatum to which he responded by trying to burn down the hospital with wild fire. Unfortunately for him, the fireproof runes prevented the fire and well, things turned out well for them.

The man just blamed some idiots who later turned up dead. It did not matter. Seeing that the man was okay with attacking his business, he decided to be kind and hit back with all the efficiency and power of a bull that he has seen red. He gave an eye for an eye and all that shit, that's how he learned.

However, that was not the only problem. The main defense of man came in the red priests of Pentos. Apparently the guy sold them many of the slaves they used in their sacrifices and they paid him for it. Harry felt disgusted. Unfortunately he couldn't do anything until the guy did some more shit.

In any case, the increase in people seeking education had served massively. The extent of what was the production of educated people was better. That was good. Renala received all the credit although she was also Tykren's mother who was especially oriented towards mathematical sciences and received a lot of praise.

After having had a great meeting with all the other sectors and having been able to talk to them, only two remained: education and espionage. Next to him he saw his wife. She nodded before touching a set of runes and then the mirrors glowed and two people could be seen in them.

Renala was the head of isengard and was a Sandor. This was demonstrated by her six-foot height. Her ivory skin. Night-black hair and onyx-toned eyes. She was a powerful sorceress who instead of sacrificing humans sacrificed animals to fuel her power jewels for her most complex spells. Although without them the woman could have competed with Flitwick in her opinion.

Replacing Shelia infame the mirror shine to show Ragnar. One of Shelia's many subordinates and wraiths. He was there to replace his wife. The man had black hair and ivory skin and red eyes. He was a tall man although he was of average height instead of being short like most.

''your majesties. It's good to know about both. I hope that the good news we have for both of you is most satisfactory if I may say so.'' Ragnar was very polite. Although he was a murderer he had massive respect for the winter kings. That and well he didn't want to anger the man who could kill them easily.

''It's good to hear from you Ragnar. You look good. I hope office work is pleasant enough. I know that in many ways you prefer to be working with more complete things like missions and field work.'' Ragnar was an operative. If he wasn't spying, devising a tactic or eliminating targets the man was best left alone.

''Frankly, His Majesty would prefer in a thousand ways to be doing more things than to be busy directing each team. But Lady Shelia should have some time to raise her child. I'm sure it's the best for her." Like every northerner, he knew better than anyone the importance of children.

''I'm sure you're doing more than a magnificent job. In addition to that I have no doubt that whatever problem we have on the horizon we can deal with them and in a more or less absolute way.'' Although he didn't like absolutes, settling a thing and stemming it was the best.

Ragnar nodded. Something he liked about his boss was that he was efficient and did a good job. He knew that Asgard needed constant improvement and the help of her forces. They could not afford weakness. Not with Essos and the south so eager to get their hands on them somehow.

''My king and queen, it's good to see you. I know that normally I would be informing her through Lady Elia but according to her orders to give her a little peace of mind for being her mother I put myself at her orders.' As a Sarnor she had grown up with respect to magic. But what she knew paled in comparison to the man she had before her. She was dying to educate the princes.

''Well, we weren't going to put poor Elia to work knowing that she has to take care of her son now. "She completely refuses to let young Damon out of her sight." The unpleasant memories of her having essentially been robbed of any opportunity to be a mother were always with Elia and she did not take them as a joke.

''I understand my lady. I am happy to be able to report all the progress and I come with new ideas and requests although I would not dare to implement them without her consent.' Renala knew who had the power. And it wasn't about the money. No. It was for sheer power. Ashara was half as strong as her husband and she could crush her. Better not to upset her gentlemen.

''new suggestions eh? Well knowing your unique ability to study I'm sure that whatever you have in mind must be very valuable.'' Ashara knew that Renala was not one to waste time. Damn, Renala was a bit of an apprentice to them because of all the knowledge they had and she thought that continuing to discover was a job for life.

Renala was satisfied. She knew that most gentlemen were against changing things. It had to do with her difficulty in being able to mold herself to what was happening, but them? They weren't. Hariric Stark and Ashara Stark were able to adapt easily and discover all the potential uses of something. It was simply unprecedented.

''Let's start the report. We'll start with you Ragnar. I know you want to go off to do whatever you do on your breaks so I'd like you to start by being the first to say what's going on.'' Hariric gave the man a look letting him know that he knew of his way of thinking. Said man just nodded about it.

''most of the spy division's work is done with runes now. We place them in offices and much more. We intercept communications and little else. The paranoia over the possibility of skinchangers is getting on the nerves of the gentlemen of the south, fearing that any animal could be a spy.'' A paranoia that came late in his opinion.

''As if we would risk using skinwalkers when runes can do such an efficient job of harvesting information. Tell us exactly what we can expect from our dear friends from the south.'' The skinchangers were mostly trackers. They preferred the use of runes to obtain information because they were safer.

''There is...division over how to proceed with Asgard my lady. At first some gentlemen talk about the war. "They seem to think that uniting all the troops would mean that it would give them a potential advantage when it comes to fighting." Ragnar was not the only one who questioned the level of intelligence in this regard.

''and I thought I had been capable enough when I made my last visit to the southerners. Here I thought they would be smart enough to know that they should never even think about fucking with us.'' Harry had to admit it. The study of the energy of human stupidity was becoming more tempting by the moment.

''This movement my lord is very motivated by two external forces. One is the masters. The pentacles are faith. Apparently the faith believes that a holy war should be waged against Asgard to put the pagans in their place. The maesters are just scared shitless by the potential of magic.'' Ragnar had heard enough so he had many ideas.

''Typical idiot work. Frankly, if humanity could advance by getting rid of idiots we would have reached a level below divinity but humanity's population level would have been severely reduced.'' Ashara had to wonder how such a large number of idiots could exist until she remembered that most of them were people with egos.

''There is a compelling reason why faith is especially moving. A movement that runs throughout the south. With His Majesty's impressive display of magic, many have come to the conclusion that the power of the ancient gods is more real than that of the faith of the seven. Ragnar almost grimaced when he saw his lord's annoyed look.

''It should have been expected to see if I'm honest. Southerners like to look for anything to believe in. Seeing that the faith of the seven has no true power and that there is a supposed champion of the old gods...well it was just a matter of fucking time.'' It was a most problematic situation if he had to say so.

''Apparently more and more people are turning against the faith of the seven. It doesn't help that most septons are too focused on staying in their comfortable places where they have so many comforts and more. You just need the right spark and well let's just say you won't have a good time.'' Faith was being hit hard, something that really made him happy.

''How are the nobles taking the fact that the faith of the seven is hit? The members of the faith and the maesters are made up either of bastards or of members of these houses who have no chance of becoming lords.'' Ashara had to admit that she was curious about it.

''They have not taken it well, my lady. They think that it is a threat to their power for sure and that therefore they are trying to remedy the problem in the typical southern way or at least many gentlemen are doing it in such a way.'' Ragnar did not have to paint the image too much for his lords to see it.

''In short, a lot of idiots feel threatened and much more so for what is essentially their loss of power. "One spark and the South will go to war at least in some areas over blue-collar and upper-class people." Yeah. It would only take a little push, should I give it? So many fun questions.

''This has occurred mostly in the riverlands, in the lands of the Vale of Arryn and in the Reach my lords. In the western lands Tywin Lanniter has no problem with squeezing the faith and well the stormlands are chaos in themselves. It was so simple and straightforward if Ragnar had to say so.

''pffff as expected. Those idiots from the riverlands are incapable of realizing what is essentially important. Instead of staying united and constantly working for improvement, these idiots fight about everything. Group of imbeciles. The good valley are idiots who knelt to an Andalo. And the dominion is the whores of the Andals, no more, no less.'' It was the simple situation that she saw in Ashara's eyes.

Ragnar had to admit that his queen's point of view was no less true. The Mallister faction gained more and more strength, ensuring that within a decade they could easily crush the Tullys unless they somehow allied themselves with the crown itself. As for the other two kingdoms, it's better not to fucking talk about them.

''Lord Jon Arryn however has a different point for waging war on Asgard. He has requested Petyr Coin Master Baelish to learn as much as possible from our financial progress to make a detailed study and look for ways to sink the advance or reduce it with a clever strategy.' He had to admit that it was the most sensible thing he had heard to date.

''I thought the coin master was a Lannister. Jon shouldn't have removed him from power unless he has a compelling reason. Well, what exactly can you tell me about petyr aelish? Let's start with a report on him and continue with what we can expect from him to deal with the threat from him.' If the man was a danger he would be treated with extreme prejudice. The man couldn't have been a normal player.

With that Ragnar explained everything he knew about Petyr Baelish. To know that he was an ambitious man. He certainly had a gift for business but Ragnar noted that the man seemed to have a gift for making money which was difficult which led them to the conclusion that he possibly had more or less shady dealings.

Their main way of making money was based on the legal front in two points. The first was to be a meat seller. Not a lord of whores like the different jafas of pleasure in Asgard were. It was not that. He would take a girl, indoctrinate her and then sell her according to people's tastes. He was just for that reason a despicable man.

The other was about an information trafficker who was dedicated to the job of selling information back and forth to make a profit. Which meant he had a pretty decent spy network. That meant that when Jon Arryn gave him the mission to infiltrate the kingdom it had to be for his own plans.

''husband we are dealing with a person who is basically little less than a piece of shit and who tried to infiltrate the levels of infrastructure created by us. Money. Blackmail. Murder for political favors. "He wouldn't care as long as he got his way." It didn't take Ashara long to realize what the man would do.

''predictable if you stop to think about it. Annoying. But at the same time that means that he is a man who has a lot to lose. He will risk his gold. The strength of him. His faction. And his spy network. Who are we not to take advantage of what are a fool's mistakes?' He had to wonder how Petyr hadn't been discovered sooner for what he was.

''My lords would perhaps like to know that he potentially has the support of the valley and the western lands. He is very close friends with the two Tully ladies. Although only one of them currently shares the bed with him. Ragnar growled in annoyance. Man or woman, when you got engaged, betraying the trust of marriage seemed disgusting.

''So potentially if we turn against him we will have to deal with two women who will come to his so-called defense because he is a great friend. 'Ragnar do us all a favor and run some of a network of attack to nullify the allies he will potentially have forged in both kingdoms.' A man like petyr would have allies. Allies who were vulnerable and easy to hit.

Ragnar did not hesitate before nodding to his lord and disappearing. He had reported everything he had to say. He wanted to rest a little and pass his time before embarking on what was possibly a new mission of infiltration and location of highly dangerous targets. Both royals nodded before addressing Renala.

''My lords. I have several reports of a different priority level. Would you prefer that I start with the most basic and simple information or would you prefer that I go directly to the top of the highest mountain?'' Renala wouldn't admit it but working for her masters was most satisfying. So she was waiting for whatever they had to say to her.

''Renala we would like to know the reports about Isengard's expenses and profits in the last three months. Are there exaggerated expenses and losses that we should know something about''. Ashara as the woman who started the bank well she wanted to know if there was anything that required her attention to make arrangements.

''Not in that sense my lady. Our use of selling potions has earned us considerable wealth. Thanks to the large number of workers in the herb fields and brewers we have an efficient workforce. Although according to reports we might have to see an expansion. "We are receiving requests from the other free cities my lords." That was the simple information.

''So far, how many were we selling the potions produced in the kidney city to? Because I thought you had a pretty efficient workforce right now.'' Harry had to admit that he was surprised that she needed help. Having a thousand workers was something quite big.

''our sale of products my lord goes exactly to not only the city states of Asgard. He also goes to what is all of southern Westeros. He also goes before alone to braavos and Qohor. Now Norvos and Pentos have joined my lord. We estimate that in a short time the other free cities will join in." She smiled when she saw her lord's surprise.

''The sale of product... is it only for hospitals or is it also for private citizens? I know that in most free cities private citizens have their own doctors and much more.'' Ashara also had to admit that the business volume was larger than she had imagined.

''At this time only hospitals that are being formed are counted. Except for Myr, which we estimate will be destroyed in a short time due to the constant loss of income, we estimate that Tyros, Lys, Volantis will soon join the requests not only because of the potential opening of hospitals. But also by the gentlemen themselves.'' It was something very impressive.

''Gods help us we have a considerable amount of demand. I'll see what can be done. The problem is that getting people educated in potion production is not easy. It's a fucking art. One mistake and you can turn a healing potion into a poison.'' Harry wanted to moan. In the end they were going to have serious problems.

''We are aware of that my lord. I just hope a few funds are added to help. Not only for the development of potions but the research of new potions that could be useful.'' His lord had been responsible for several potions. Not all of them were only curative but others were included for what was beauty and also home.

''We will run an advertisement in each of the cities announcing the opportunity for education in potion production. Just expanding the students by one hundred or even two hundred should be enough to produce enough potions in about five years. Ashara nodded considering that as a possibility.

''Thank you my lady. Now I think she should go more or less to an intermediate issue. Thanks to the help of Ragnar we have been able to track two lines. On the one hand there are the maesters trying to analyze our potions to discover their secret.'' She was not surprised when none of her lords seemed affected by the use of her resources.

''It was a logical and sensible move. Using Ragnar's spy skills to know what others were doing was good. I don't suppose the maesters are any closer to finding out about one of our greatest products?'' Harry just knew that's why he could smile for a long time.

''No my lord. However, you will be interested to know that they have been using human subjects for research and development. Most of them prisoners and people who have committed crimes. "They seem to think they can take advantage of them." It was a movement used by them too. Why not take advantage of those people who committed crimes so that they repent of their sins?

''I can't say I'm against it. We use a very similar method. But something tells me that from what you know that could potentially be a weapon to be used against the rat-caped morons.'' Ashara had no love for maesters. Men had too great a sense of self.

''As you say my queen. Although it may seem normal, the truth is that it is not. If I may say so, the southerners would completely lose face if they found out about it. And I believed that this could be a source of information that could be of interest to you." It was a conclusion she came to naturally.

''possibly. But it is not something that makes us think that they would lose sleep of all things. Southerners are very adept at screwing their so-called ideals when they think there are potential gains for them. I mean, just look at the shit their so-called gentlemen do.'' What not many seemed to understand is that a knight is one who makes a reputation not only for themselves but for their lords. Bad reputation is bad for the lords of it.

''As you say my lord. However I think it could have been valuable. Anyway, the next route was used to follow all the men who infiltrated with the intention of stealing the secrets in Isengard. I must admit I'm disappointed. Why not send women too? The men practically scream a sense of idiocy.'' Renala had to admit that it was an idiotic idea.

''oh really? Do they only send men to work? I don't know whether to think that they are a bit idiotic for thinking that they can just enter the facilities that we have under control or they simply think that a woman is not capable of doing the job.'' Ashara had to make an effort not to say too many insults about it.

''Maesters are not exactly known for their high opinion of women my queen. "Possibly they only send men because they think they are the ones who have the best chance of getting their way because they think we will be equal." Although you had to question where this idea came from when Renala was the director of Isengard.

''The stupidity of the maesters is something we can take advantage of, no matter what. By being such fucking idiots we can take advantage of their mistakes and laugh at their actions later. However, there is something else. How is the project we had in development going?'' Besides the potions there was one more project they had in mind.

''The researchers on the project were actually more than impressed by what was being worked on with many of them thinking that this was a task that could be revolutionary along with magic. As one said, the perfect combination of magic and science.'' Renala had to admit that she agreed with the description.

''We will put things to work to work on it. It's better that we do it yes or yes. Just because magic can be a help doesn't mean we can't improve things with it and science. However, I would like to see the results moving forward." Ashara was almost giddy from the project they had in mind.

''I can assure you, my queen, that the project will work like a charm. The only reason for the need for funds and workers is for the simple reason of their physical presence, no more, no less. Although we are working according to it and what is more important without delays for the moment.'' The project was of vital importance to Asgard and that was putting it mildly.

''Renala trusted you and I know that you will be giving everything to make the project work. This concludes the meeting. Now you can go rest. We have our own jobs to go back to.'' Harry felt satisfied that the project they were currently thinking about was progressing well which was always good news.

''Of course my king. I will go and inform the workers that they have your support and that you have your faith in them. With all that said, I apologize, your majesties. I will leave you to your jobs regarding your family.'' Renala nodded once more before cutting off communication on the matter herself. She was really interested in getting back to work.

Both kings looked at each other. After a morning of talking with his different ministers. With their different commanders and much more they finally had the time to go spend time with their family. With this done they could also make plans for when Petyr Baelish comes in a few days. They just hoped it wouldn't be too much of a pain in the ass for them.

-Great Hall of Winterfell (Several days later)-

Petyr had several things to say about what he had seen so far of the kingdom of Asgard. First of all he could tell that the kingdom moved large amounts of money that were no fucking joke. Which meant wealth to be exploited. But the lords of Asgard seemed to be those of not wasting their money which was not good in his opinion.

During his time with the Twin Wolves he met the man who was known to many as the guardian of the entrance to the kingdom: Eddard Stark. The king had asked him to talk to him about potential deals, hoping to use the man's friendship with him to get some of Asgard's gold. Unfortunately for him, that was not possible.

As lord of what was the Winter Canal, Eddard Stark saw a lot of gold. This gold came from the different ships that passed through his dual city. But not only that. The members of his city worked in the swamps to produce a food that was bought by everyone: rice. Needless to say, the guy had a lot of work.

Apparently rice grew in the swamps and was controlled by the men and women of the neck. The men and women of the neck had no need for gold, for what? But if they needed weapons and tools, they apparently reached an agreement with Mr. Stark of the twin wolves.

In exchange for seeing the food grow, they would be receiving a fifth of it to feed themselves. Another fifth to pay for the weapons and tools necessary for them. The rest was for the use of Lord Stark who naturally took advantage of it by producing both good food and an especially strong drink.

Eddard Stark was a rich man. He wasn't Tywin level but he was possibly at a higher level than the Hightower. His wife came from Norvos from a merchant family so she was also incredibly good at business. While he ran the city and kept it under control his wife was the one who ran his business.

Such an attitude would have earned a worried look from Petyr. For a moment. Only a moment. He thought about finding ways to manipulate the woman. There's nothing a little charmer couldn't be able to do and he was a man with a silver tongue...but all his courage was gone when he heard that the woman was not only extremely in love with her husband but was cruel to anyone she might deal with. to fuck her up.

Eddard was known for defeating Tywin's younger brother who was by far one of the best military commanders in the south. But also the complete annihilation of what the Frey house was. And the latter was only because the Freys were stupid enough to think that they could make a sexual demand of their brother's wife.

The idea of them both going after him. Even with his position as coin master. With all the wealth he had. He didn't believe that he would defend him from both wanting to kill him. So naturally he decided that the most sensible thing was not to get involved in the happy couple (that didn't mean that he didn't look for a way to blackmail them, it was his way of being).

His journey through the kingdom of Asgard showed annoying things. The roads of the kingdom were in better condition than its best lands. There were many towns that did their job of producing food. The kingdom of Asgard that before the arrival of Hariric Stark starved of all things now produced as much food, if not more, than the Dominion.

I was considering the possibility of sending agents to get their hands on these resources. A spy here. A spy there. Assailants to increase tension. But Petyr banished the very ideas as they began to appear. Not until he had some kind of power in Asgard would he dare promote chaos in which his agents could thrive.

Then I get to the crown jewel. The capital of Asgard. And damn to say I was surprised was an understatement. The city was possibly three times larger than its own capital. Its buildings were made of smooth rock covered with wood and had several floors for several families. And what's worse they seemed to be in good condition.

The capital had a red light district. A pleasure area. An area that involved play and the pleasures of his work. But unlike in his case, which was all chaos, in his case everything was under the complete control of the Stark family and they made sure that nothing and no one tried to mess with the things that happened there...how annoying.

One of their main ways of making money was brothels. For a moment he had thought about establishing brothels in the villages and in the city. But if the pleasure district was controlled by the monarchy then if it tried to advance in any way it could attract attention in a more than negative way.

Then I come to one's own strength. Have you ever felt so intimidated that you think it's better not to screw something up? Well he did it. Winterfell the black stone. Gargoyles and stone figures. Everything screamed power. Everything screamed unique presence. And it was with that that he took steps inside with a little more care and with justified fear.

And then he entered the great Hall where they told him that their majesties were waiting for him. I almost expect a hearing. I almost expected people who would be there to see him argue as he did in his own capital. Instead there were only the king and queen. A large black table and a chair for him to sit on.

The two thrones were simply imposing. The pair of thrones were made of what was a mix of black and white marble. The armrests ended with wolf heads. And the back had the image of a large direwolf. The shoulders had the bodies of a howling wolf. It was much scarier because the thrones screamed power.

As if that wasn't bad enough for Petyr the two kings were so fucking different from Robert and Cersei. In Robert's marriage you could see division, zero respect between both monarchs and a complete absence of loyalty between them. However these two looked like an excellent combination. He scared her.

As if that were not enough Petyr was an excellent businessman and knew how to see a person who is looking at you with analytical eyes. The woman was looking at him like a hunter looking at her prey. She was close to jumping on him and going straight through him. But it was the man who scared him. As if he were looking at her from the top of a peak.

Pety had found something that scared him which surprised him. Due to his way of being and life, he had always been the one who was scary. His always pleasant smile that hid the dagger that would pierce you. The eyes that valued you. Everything about him screamed murderer, spy and traitor. And these two were seeing him for who he was. So yes. He was very scared by them.

''Your thanks. I am petyr baelish. Master of the Coin of Grace to him King Robert Baratheon. Both his majesty and Mr. Mano are interested in opening business with you and they sent me to make the first offers.' Petyr couldn't allow himself to let his fear be known. If they were like any hunter, the moment he showed fear they would be on him.

''It is very interesting that the coin master of southern royalty has decided to come to Asgard of all things. A normal envoy could have been a gentleman like Kevan Lannister who would have spoken well but at the same time would not be such a big presence. Hariric Stark looked with steel eyes at the man who sat in front of him. There was complete control in his voice, revealing no displeasure.

''it's true. It was suggested that lord kevan should come. As a long-time associate of Lord Tywin and a man himself knowledgeable about many things he was a strong possibility to come. "But Lord Mano thought it was the best option to emphasize the importance of this for the future." Ptyr did not lose his smile at any time but he was not in the best mood.

''It surprises me a little. You have your own businesses. We have heard that you are a very important businessman not only in the capital but in the entire south. What reason would there be for a man of his stature to leave all things in the capital?'' Ashara did not show any emotion when speaking but that smile did not reach her eyes.

''Yeah. That is why I am a renowned trader who knows better than anyone else about things. For example, did you know that currently about forty-five percent of the income of each kingdom as well as a significant sum of taxes collected by the king come to his kingdom?'' Petyr only made known the amount of money they earned.

''You can't expect us not to try some way to do our business lord baelish. In the end we may be kings but like you we are people who are interested in the best of our kingdom. To do that you need money. And well, let's be honest, the money we earn is solid only thanks to what we sell.'' Hariric Stark was unfazed by pointing out that he was essentially screwing over the southern kingdoms.

''of course. I would never say anything to you about what you do or don't do. It's just that if it were possible I would like to make negotiations about selling your products in the south. Their products are after all in high demand.'' This was why he was sending. To see if the south could save a few coins.

''Why on earth should we do such a thing lord baelish? I don't know if you've noticed but the kingdom of Asgard is constantly expanding. Our efforts to reassure and fully make viable our great kingdom require funds. Funds that come from not only our profits from our products but from our personal wealth.'' Ashara looked at him so intently that she froze.

''It's just that the current situation of the southern kingdoms...is not the best if I may say so. It's not that you put high prices on your products, Your Majesties. It's just let's say that we would like to contribute in other ways instead of paying their prices.'' Petyr hated the mission he had been given. These monsters would kill him.

''And tell us, Lord Baelish, what ideas did His Majesty King Robert Baratheon have in mind so that we would be able to make a discount on the products we are selling? 'No offense but I think he will agree that the quality of our products cannot be seen anywhere else.' Hariric looked at him with a raised eyebrow and what appeared to be amusement.

''The king is willing to open negotiations regarding this with both marriage proposals and discounts on the delivery of his products to his different merchants in each of his cities. An agreement was reached in each one that they would agree to this.'' It had been difficult. But every southern port agreed to reduce their prices in taxes for docking ships.

''That surprises me more than a little. Last time I heard, didn't the southern kingdoms want my husband's head for being a heretic? I seem to remember your high septon taking to the streets demanding that the southern kingdoms take up arms and put my lord husband's head on a pike.'' The coldness of Ashara's tone would have frozen a flame at that moment.

''Queen Ashara, I can assure you that the will of what is faith has no power whatsoever in what is the will of the south and its leaders. The king undertakes that if necessary he will be able to take his place to the supreme septon regarding his actions.' Petyr was swallowing. He hadn't expected a spy network from Asgard. They always came out as disinterested in the game.

''What my queen says is no less a true master of coin. The south talks about wanting to do business. But you send your men from the citadel to try to plunder the knowledge of the kingdom and in turn your faith makes demands regarding my life. Why should I believe in your kingdom of all things?''. Hariric's voice was so powerful and firm that he would silence a dragon.

''I can assure you, Your Majesty, that I will be happy to pass on your complaints. At the moment I'm just here to do the negotiations. They have asked me to inform that in addition to discounts on the sale of tax products and docking of ships, potential marriages must also be taken into account.'' Petyr didn't know why but suddenly he felt afraid.

''marriages huh. Tell me master of the coin, what do you think would be the result in case of marriages in the south? What do you think would be the thing that would come out of a wedding between a house from Asgard and a house from a southern kingdom huh?'' Ashara looked like a wolf about to pounce on his prey. So willing. So eager to tear her throat out with one bite.

Petyr shuddered. He was good at getting money. He was good at blackmail. He was good at bribing. And he was good at planning disappearances, negotiating with a group of people who basically wanted nothing to do with them and who thought the worst possible of his reign? What a bad joke he had fallen for.

''If a wedding were to take place between a southern house and Asgard, there could be several possible outcomes. The first, the woman of the house of Asgard goes south where she has to become little more than a puppet. The man has all the power and could do anything with the woman. "The family would have to see how they are treated as less than nothing." Hariric said his words calmly but there was a more than decisive ending to them.

"Your majesty must know that the lords of the south are respectful and that they would never disrespect a woman of their kingdom and that they would treat them with all due respect." That's what an intelligent man would do. Is that what the majority would do? The answer is no. Many southern lords were incredibly idiotic in Petyr's opinion.

''a lie at best. Southerners rarely understand, understand and accept women, seeing them as little more than cattle to be used for their political ambitions. "I know it better than anyone." Ashara completely mocked the words of the man who looked upset.

''If I were to accept and it is very serious, the fact is that very favorable conditions would have to be given. And a complete guarantee that the women of my kingdom will not be mere tools and that the lords of the south will not take liberties with them.'' The sheer coldness in the gray-green eyes was enough to send the message.

Petyr wanted to growl. He really wanted to growl. He had gotten an intelligent ruler. Able. And what's worse is that he had no ambitions. No. He had them. Only instead of sacrificing everyone and his mother for his ambitions, he sought to achieve them himself. Between this and other observations he had made he knew that the situation was far from ideal.

''We will be discussing this matter between my husband and I. It could take a whole week so get comfortable. And lord baelish anything that can make him...unpleasant will have very immediate consequences.'' The message was delivered. The message was clear. And not. There were no second chances.

Petyr nodded in annoyance before beginning to leave the room. When he was leaving he saw a woman enter. But he recognized this woman. How would he not know Mellario de Norvos?
