Chapter 11: c11
Talks. Reunions and Conversations
-West. Dorne. Sunspear-
-Solar of the Prince-
Melania Martell was not an easy woman to feel threatened. In the least. She was considered one of the most powerful women in the seven kingdoms. She had had many people from both her land and other lands and even great lords come to see her. Some treating her as if they thought she was below them which at the end of the day had been amusing because she had only needed a few moments to make them understand what a massive mistake it would clearly be to do such a thing. Not that it mattered too much because in the end she knew how to kindly repay people when they treated her badly in some way or were nasty to her on the level of human stupidity she could be dumb.
An example of this had been Tywin Lannister. The man was powerful. Not just as the Hand of the King that he was an incredibly powerful position. No. Tywin had the power of him as a person because of his very presence and his way of manipulating and using people as well as his ruthless streak. Getting into a fight with said man was the most idiotic thing some would consider doing. So when he treated her the way he did as if he were above her he felt a little eager to return the favor which he did so Tywin saw a lot of trouble among the vassals. of the. Although in the short term it was insignificant in the long term it was something different
Tywin was possibly a powerful man. He was awesome. And he was incredibly dangerous. But his children were not. The spies he had spoke of Cersei Lannister as a vain girl who thought herself above others just because of her last name. She didn't think that she had to do anything to earn respect, much less that she had to worry about anything. She felt that the girl was a complete waste of time and although she clearly had a bit of a brain her arrogance in her as well as her airs and ways of being would lead her down the most evil of paths. So obviously she wasn't a threat in the least from his point of view.
Jaime was another example. It was about a boy who was a potential knight. But a lord was not a gentleman. A lord must be ruthless. Cold. Calculating. And precise. Jaime Lannister was arrogant. He lacked what was the ability to think long term. And he was incredibly daring. A bad combination. So he was not a threat to her and her long-term plans to see the blood of Tywin Lannister suffer, which was why she was not attacking him but each of his lords with the firm intention of making sure that all lords turn against him at some point and make things difficult for the western lands
The Lord Dayne next to her was obviously frightened by what her annoyance was. The reason for her to be upset was for nothing other than the fact that the idiot of a lord had thought of doing this. They hadn't had any information about what the North was. They had not the remotest idea of all that the North could offer. It was only through spies that she discovered several points that were of noteworthy importance not only to her but also to what her home was as it could mean a new source of food instead of having to buy from Dominion idiots which was a excellent news in your mind
The North was no longer buying the Tullys (which in his mind were just a house that rose to the top by being freeloaders and never bleed) which meant that the North would no longer have the expense of trailers or anything for what it was trade with that particular kingdom. It didn't help that the opinion he had of Tully and the Rios was bad because of the way he looked and behaved. Frankly, if there was a kingdom that had promoted the belief of women in the home without doing anything, it was the people of the Rivers. No one from Dorne would think so. The Dominion and Western people saw women as ways to put agents in what were the houses they married into. And Baratheon were simple
With that amount of money saved, it was excellent news. But things were far from ending there. The North had managed to place what had to be an extremely efficient business called olympus as well as they had obtained a contract with braavos for the creation of what was a much more than efficient drinking water and sewage system. Needless to say, that was thousands of gold dragons for House Stark. It was not nice to know that because she knew that if she wanted the same thing she would have to negotiate but she showed that the North was clearly much more sensible and effective in business than she had thought.
And the final blow was that apparently the North was earning gold from what were the businesses made from the sale of ichors and other elements. Needless to say, the wine from the North was far superior to any from the South. The new Whiskey, Vodka, Rum, Sake and other drinks as well as spices, silk, cocoa and tea as well as coffee were earning gold from all over Essos. Once they began their sale to what was the south of Westeros, the North would quickly take control of the businesses of all the kingdoms. It wasn't the most pleasant thought. So, naturally, she wanted to make a good negotiation with this man who still hadn't looked down on her in any way.
Lord Dayne was scared of the shit storm he had gotten himself into. To begin with, lacking information from the Stark house and only thinking that they were simple Northerners, he did not know if they could negotiate a beneficial agreement. The problem that came with this is that apparently they didn't have a way to negotiate with them. Or so it seemed. Melania knew that they had products that could be sold to the Norteños. Citrus fruits, olives and other elements like this could be and would easily become a business door. But the problem is that the Starks had more to trade and that put them at a complete disadvantage.
Melania promised herself to try to find out as many people as possible about the people who were here. Hariric Stark was God knows where but she didn't fear him that much. Hariric seemed to be more of an innovator than anything (little did she know what she was getting herself into) and so her faith lay in her belief that Ashara was and would be able to manipulate him in some way. Or at least be able to side with House Martell. But the man before her was completely different. The man before her didn't look at her like a man who thought he was above a woman in some way and could crush her. Quite the opposite, which meant that he was not one to be fooled by a pretty face and not by the lack of a cock.
Rickard looked at the woman in front of him. The information network currently organized by Shelia had expanded remarkably. Not only were the skinchangers much more efficient, but they knew who to look for, where to find them, and most importantly, what was the point of interest. It was thanks to that that the Starks had a firm idea of what was basically the entire government structure of each of the seven kingdoms and how the structure of the kingdoms was affected according to each action. So far they had not messed with the south but he knew that his son had the intention of doing it more than anything because nothing prevented him
The woman in front of him was one worthy of respect. Jeor Mormont and a few others would take a dim view of this woman. A schemer that she is thinking and trying to come up with plans that are more efficient for her kingdom. In any case, she could respect her for it. Honor is fine. Having a code was fine. But at the end of the day, what use is all that to you if those around you crush you like nothing? Completely idiotic from her point of view. It wasn't right and much less fair if he had to say it. So yes. He agreed with a woman who would use every known weapon in her arsenal just to make her family, her people, and her kingdom prosper.
One thing he hated about what Wallys had tried to put into his sons' heads was that one should rule with honor. That an honorable man was important. That measures could not be taken clearly that affected honor. He scoffed at the very idea of it. He felt Wallys was a complete brainless jerk but at the same time he saw the trap for what he was. Some would say that he was exaggerating, but Rickard Stark was far from an uneducated jerk. The new generations were sabotaged by the masters and he didn't like that in the slightest. It was a more than bad sign
But his thoughts returned to the present. When Lord Dyne had accepted the marriage, he had been happy. He had used the spy network to find out about many potential wife candidates for his sons. In fact he had found two possible candidates both ara ned and benjen. Both girls were from lesser chambers with the one he had thought to be a Velaryon and the one he had thought to be a Mormont for Benjen but as her son liked to say, quality was worth more than quantity. And at this point he wanted to say that he preferred his brothers to have clearly competent wives rather than women who were worthless idiot shrews worth nothing but breeding stock. He still had to study everything but he was sure that he would do well.
Still, as good as he was and as good as things were, when Lord Dayne refused to pay a proper dowry for his daughter, he was furious. On the one hand it was a clear message that the man believed himself above him. Just that thought made him groan. He was a Stark. While this idiot's relatives were growing hair on their balls, his family was conquering the greatest kingdom of all time. In his mind that alone was worth more than all the crap the man could try to throw at him. But he decided to be nice and be understanding and try to negotiate but at the same time find out more about Ulric Dayne to further compromise things in his favor.
Ulric Dayne was a man who saw his daughter Ashara as trouble. He was not only brilliant and intelligent but he had an incredible gift for manipulating, deceiving and using. Educated by Princess Melania Martel in a way that some would say was the most expected of a mother to a daughter, it became clear that Melania had great faith in her surrogate daughter. But this very faith this woman had in the child was unknown between father and daughter that the father feared the enemies of the family would use to usurp the position of Lord Dyane. It didn't help that he had recently found some silver mines that he had taken over and he feared that a fight would be too much for the houses.
Rickard felt a huge headache. Frankly the man's idiocy had to be a very serious problem. The man was not only distrustful of his own daughter which was inconceivable to the Starks since he at least knew that the family followed the dogma that unity is more important than division. No. The bad thing is that instead of encouraging what was unity, the man had favored her eldest son over her daughter and actually considered her guilty for not seducing one of the Martels and marrying him. she. Frankly, Rickard never thought that he could be surprised by such stupidity in his life.
A look of pure respect came into Rickard's eyes as he looked at the powerful woman. A woman who was not only sensible but was clearly very cunning and intelligent. A part of her trembled with fear at the thought of what would happen if Lyarra met this woman. It would be great. And he knew that she would highly appreciate (although she would try to use it nonetheless) her son due not only to her more sensible mentality but her opinion of people and of course her mind. At least this woman was not a blind, idiotic ruler like many other people. An example of this were the Tullys who foolishly believed that their vassals were loyal to them only because they were subordinate to oaths.
With a sigh he decided to move what was the trunk he brought. He and his son had debated how best to win this while still allowing Ashara the reward she deserved. She was going to marry a Stark and she deserved for it the recognition worthy of said action. In the trunk were samples of the different spices and silks that her son had managed to turn up in the North. But besides that there were also some tea bags. He could be Norteño but damn he respected a good tea that he could use to have a civil conversation and his own son said that at least this way he didn't have to drink wine or anything all the time. He was actually grateful to his son for it.
Frankly your son was a true evolution for the North. That was why he also liked the idea of an Ashara Dayne marrying his son. The young woman had clearly shown potential. And the potential had to be taken care of. When the two lords saw him move the trunk she had brought she knew she had his attention. The look that the princess gave her made it clear that she knew that the North was more than before. Once again due to her foreign agents since unlike the Dominion or the West Dorne did do a lot of business with the free cities which had ended up being good.
´´I must say that this place is hotter than I thought. Luckily we northerners are adapting to living in different climates, otherwise I'm afraid it would be a roast duck``. Rickard gave the woman an amused look. It was true. Instead of wearing the typical leather she wore something more relaxed in cotton. When his son had obtained all the materials and had actually distributed them so that the Karstarks would have a new access to money that he had actually secretly gained the loyalty of Rickard Karstark by seeing that the Stark family continued to honor the loyalty of the houses. that they were loyal to them as their cousins had shown
Yeah. However I am not used to the material. I have to say that it looks good and more relaxed. Honestly, if it weren't for the House Stark emblem carved on the clothes, I would still think it was silk. However, I must say that it is good. Any comments on it?``. Melania had to admit that Rickard Stark looked…fine. She showed that the northerners were more than she thought. Not only the six foot six of him made him a monster of a man. But she could see every muscle in him. She frankly made her see that the lords of the south were sweet flowers. She just had to see if intelligence was part of who they were or if it was more muscle. Although she had heard that Lord Stark was a very skilled and capable man which was a good sign.
''My son has actually figured out a way to allow cotton fields to be created in the North. The Karstark have become the main producers not only of what the material is but also of its sale everywhere not only as a clothing item but also for basically medicine as it is very useful along with other items``. Rickard savored what it was like to see the surprise in the woman. Cotton was not difficult to produce but was required in hot climates. Of course no one used it very often. His son said on more than one occasion that they dressed to be comfortable, not to look like ducks. There were days when he felt that his son found a lot of fashion that he had seen to be an idiot.
amazing. I can see this type of use widely used in the south. But there are few people who know how to take advantage of cotton. I also have to say that I didn't expect people to wear it as a piece of clothing. Hell, I've heard that only a few grow cotton in Essos since no one has seen a future for it. Ulric Dayne was considerably surprised. What he was seeing was not something he had expected. If he had to be blunt he had not in the least expected the young Stark to find not only a way to cultivate the element in the North but to use it. It seemed there was more than he imagined
´´It is only one of the resources of the North. However we are not here to talk about the new clothes. Not how good it looks on me. Lord Ulric I hope he understands that his refusal to pay a dowry for his daughter has not gone down well with my family. Rickard looked at the Dayne. The man tried to appear strong and clearly on top but Ulric Dayne, despite how much he might seem, was far from half as intimidating a man as Rickard Stark was. Few could compare to the great wolf of the North so naturally the man was not in the best of positions at the time.
´´I just thought and came to the conclusion that we could negotiate for a Dowry. After all, I think you can always start conversations better than just talking about delivering something without further ado``. Ulric hadn't really wanted to pay the Dowry. Believing that he could strike northern pride with this action and at the same time get rid of his daughter, he thought that he was making a wise decision. Everything went to hell when Rickard Stark sent him a letter that he would travel to Dorne to talk with him and what is more important to see if he did not cancel the agreement due to his complete idiocy. While he could have refused he thought he could at least negotiate for a smaller dowry. The more he saw it, the more difficult it became. The Starks were not what he had believed
''That was a very foolish decision on your part, Lord Dayne. This is not a matter of frivolity without reason. We are talking about his daughter. Of her pride and her joy. How do you think she would look, of all things, if her own father says he's not going to pay for what her marriage is? In the eyes of every northern lord it would look like she is basically unloved and some might have argued that she was sending the wrong thing to the North``. In fact, Shelia's spy network had already let him know that some people had tried to sell such an idea. She had cost them but she had discovered that she was courtesy none other than Varys who had apparently wanted to attack the Starks for some idiotic reason.
I didn't mean to put it that way. I just thought it wouldn't be necessary or that we could negotiate a deal with each other like the gentlemen that we are. After all, it is a discussion that is better to have face to face than to hope that it will be resolved without further ado with letters``. Ulric now cursed. He should have known something could happen. Why did he listen to the idiot maester? The maesters had a kind of anger against the Starks. He didn't know why, but every time he heard him speak, the master of the wedding established that the Starks were below him. He had clearly bought it
´´It is assumed that a lord like you should have known perfectly well that a minimum offer should have been made to be able to negotiate later. When he basically said that he had no idea of his daughter's possible Dowry, forgive me if I think he was not sending me the best of signals Lord Dayne``. Rickard could honestly say that he found it amusing. He knew why this had happened. The Dayne maester had put it into his head that Ashara in itself was bringing what was an alliance pact with the Daynes that must have been considered sufficient by them. Idiot. But the maesters had a lot of anger at the Starks after what their son got
''And you must believe me, Lord Stark. It was never my intention to do such harm. I only wanted well, the truth is that what happens is that I thought it would be better to talk and reach conclusions. A part of me fears that you don't think much of my oldest daughter. Ashara is not what you can describe a lady``. Ulric thought that would do the trick. After all, he thought that the Norteños, like the other lords of Westeros, wanted the ladies to have children and little else, but instead what he saw were eyes full of anger that did not plan anything good for him. could tell. It wasn't the best of news if you had to think about it.
''Why don't we start with what you can tell me about your daughter and then I make the decision about whether it is what I want for what is the wife of my son and future head of House Stark? Never take hasty action. They are more likely to end up hitting the shit and spreading it everywhere than being a benefit``. Rickard sighed. The belief that Northerners were like everyone else in the South bothered him. In the North, a strong, fighting and down-to-earth woman was more respected than one of the so-called ladies from the South. She quite frankly found any other behavior idiotic and that was only because she felt she was a waste of time.
''I guess that's true. Well to start let me say that my daughter is very…independent. She doesn't like anything or anyone to tell her how she should do things and the way they should be done. In her mind and personal opinion if she doesn't want to do something no one will tell her to do it. She could almost imagine the look of rage on the Lord Stark. He knew that no one liked to be told no. He was annoying at best with a real pain at most. However, Lord Stark just gave him a steady look as if he thought he was being an idiot somehow.
oh really? Are you seriously telling me that just because of that you think I would find a person who is not suitable for my son? We are of the first men. A woman who has the courage to say what she thinks. Of not staying silent. To make clear her ideals to a husband is very necessary. Complacency creates weakness. Frankly I think it's stupid to expect a woman to accept everything at the slightest. That was annoying at best. He frankly found such an ideal stupid, really? A woman was the partner and equal of her husband. They had to collaborate together and sometimes that meant hearing things that contradict him which was something very natural. Only little shits want women who accept everything without question.
''I suppose I should have known about that. Also good my daughter is a very independent woman. I very much doubt that she is one of those to accept without further ado from her when they tell her something about her and I was rightly afraid that she would not agree with your son. You have to understand that not many see the North well, my lord. Ulric could see the anger in Lord Stark's eyes now. He clearly was furious at what he was saying. He thought for a moment that the anger was caused by his daughter and he was already regretting that his daughter was the way she is until the man began to breathe calmly as if he was trying to adapt as best as possible until he gave him a single look
´´I am very aware of how they see us in the south. Little more than beasts. Those who remain in the wasteland of the North and who refuse to change. Those who prefer to worship trees than the so-called true gods. But believe me, I very much doubt that this is what will happen to your daughter if what I have seen about her is true. Rickard had had to make an inhuman effort not to punch the idiot in the face just for what he'd said. He could understand and even comprehend that the man believed that he knew better. That he knew much more. but what they knew of the North was little. Thanks to his son, things had radically changed after all.
''I'm sorry, Lord Stark, I never meant to imply that. I am very aware unlike many lords of the south that it was first the houses of the first men that ruled the west and I did not want to offend. What I was trying to get across is that well I believed my daughter could be more trouble than she was worth as a wife and I wanted to negotiate a dowry that would be decent but not bankrupt me`` . Uldric realized that for now he had to start to accept that he had to be more honest. Truth be told, he felt that if he had to pay a dowry it would possibly be excessive due to his daughter's tendencies of all things.
''Good that you understand. But don't think about your daughter before you know what she can represent for the North. You never know what she is capable of until it happens and believe me you could be very surprised. Your daughter is possibly just waiting to be given a chance in her life and that she has so far been denied. I know my son well enough to know that she would never take away his opportunities. He could tell he was normal but at the same time he didn't like the way things were done. He looked at his daughter that she was betrothed to the baratheon pig and realized that things were what they were in a very bad way.
thank you. Now it only remains to decide what the Dowry is. Dayne house is not poor but we don't have to pay in large amounts so unless I know if there is some way you can tell us how we can pay I will be very pleased about it``. Uldric felt good that Lord Stark had taken things well. He didn't want his daughter to lose this wedding. He might not want to have her in Dorne but she was still his daughter and he knew that any other lord could do only god knows what to his daughter so at least having the assurance that his daughter would be safe and sound would be good in his mind. It was the least he could ask of the world anyway.
''I'm glad we're okay. Although it is true that you may think that there is nothing, you are wrong about it because there is, or at least I think we could talk about it since, as I understand it, Asa Dayne owns a stone. I know it may not seem like much, but in my son's opinion, that stone is very valuable for his wife too``. When his son had been told that his opinion was that his way of seeing it was that there was no need for any payment but that they could use the Dowry to make a weapon for his future wife. He wholeheartedly agreed knowing what a good job he had done on his son with Ice herself and actually seeing it as a good thing.
''You mean the black heart? Not that I have anything against it. That thing didn't make any more swords like Dawn did but it's a bit insignificant when you think about it in terms of paying for a wedding, don't you think?``. To say that Lord Dayne was surprised was an understatement. The black heart was a stone that came out of a small meteorite that was the size of a small ball (more like a tennis ball). It had not been possible to use it to make more weapons and its quality was low compared to what was also used for the sword but it was better than nothing
´´Although it may seem like something beyond small and insignificant, my son is of the opinion that it can be valuable. I have been studying metallurgy in his spare time and have been truly impressed with the achievements of House Dayne. He knows that the remaining meteor is impossible to use but he would still like to study it``. Any other lord would have asked for a dowry in gold or silver. Rickard wouldn't. He felt that gold and silver were overvalued. Even more so when the North had access to all the resources it had at the time. In addition to the fact that he knew that there was no more reason to ask for money when he knew that the most valuable things were in the form of commercial contracts
''I see. I can't say I'm against it. It is an element that we have no more use than the fact that it is a memory, but what would happen if her son discovers some way to take advantage of it? I don't want to give him a resource that would be taken advantage of without further ado by the Stark family and the contribution of the Dayne house would be forgotten. If they had asked him for money he would be more than happy. But the black heart was a memory of the Dayne house. While he might want his daughter away so she wouldn't be used in a fight, he also didn't want a Dayne house memorabilia to be taken advantage of by another house. To his surprise, Rickard Stark did not get angry with his words.
''Thinking of the best for your home already makes you a better gentleman than many. Here is the final offer. In addition to the black heart, a thousand silver deer. Before you say that it is expensive, let me say that in exchange for that, if my son discovers any use for the black heart, he will not have authority over it at any time and it will always be used by his wife. Rickard could see Lord Dayne's mind working at high speed. A thousand silver deer was a decent amount but with the newly discovered silver mines in what was Dayne territory he knew they could afford it and more importantly he knew they could find it in recovering any instrument obtained from what was the black heart
good. It is then accepted. The black heart and a thousand silver deer. I just hope I'm not wrong about that, Lord Stark. With this I conclude my part and I settle the matter completely, my lord. With his final words said, Ulric left there. He was happy. With Ashara out of what was Dorne he knew that no enemy could cause a small civil war in the family. He knew that some would question giving him the black heart but he had a lot of faith. Besides if he got something out of it he could always claim it. If Ulric had stayed he would know that it was a bad idea to get involved in such matters and the more bad things had gone for him.
Melania saw Lord Dayne and sighed. Her vassal had been so foolish. From the commercial resources alone she could tell that he could have tried to get something else out of the North. While obtaining a second meteor tool or possibly whatever would come of it was an option she knew that with the monetary resources of the North Ulric Dayne would be forced to negotiate with the Lord Stark somehow for it and unlike Rickard he was It is very possible that his son refused to give up an artifact created by him. Not that it was her problem. She maybe she could talk to Lord Stark. If she really was interested in young Stark metalworking he might be able to reforge weapons from Valyrian steel which would be nice.
´´That was well played if I may say so. You touched Lord Dayne like it was nothing. Frankly the man is very blind. Although of course if he knew about the resources of the Stark house he would be more convinced of it. Now that we are here I think that while he may be satisfied with what he has won I will not be so easily Lord Stark``. Melania didn't want to say that she wouldn't be as easy to beat as the idiot. But Lord Stark only gave him a steady look. A look that said very clearly that he did not think the same of her. It seemed that she had reason to want to do business with Lord Stark from what she could tell.
''Lord Dayne was a man who wanted to see the matter settled as soon as possible. His teacher has convinced him that with the contacts that his daughter Ashara has, as well as his great intelligence and cunning, he can turn against his older brother, which could be taken advantage of by the lords of other houses and weaken the which is the dayne house. He didn't have to play it. He only played himself. It wasn't Rickard's fault that the man was predictable and easy to touch. Another very important thing they had in the intelligence division was a group of people who did what Hariric called profiles of people. Needless to say, it was very helpful.
´´And here I thought that the Starks were that noble and brave house that they would never take advantage of… I must say that this is the most interesting and the best thing that could happen. I have to say that it is good news for Dorne to know that there is a possibility of an alliance with House Stark in some way and that they are far from being idiots``. Melania half expected to see a look of anger appear on Lord Stark's face. No noble likes to be called stupid after all. But Lord Stark only gave a steady look that made it clear that he was not nearly as angry as some might have expected.
´´The nobility and what is honor are a bit overrated. I will not deny that seeming nice and everything is fine, but if something has made it clear to me in life, it is that always acting in a noble and altruistic way has a better chance of ending up hitting me in the worst possible way. Thanks but no thanks. I have no intention of letting myself be used and beaten and cast aside``. Rickard was not one to be manipulated by and in no way the intentions of the people. He honestly found it stupid that anyone would think they would somehow get away with his. But well things were as they were and nothing would change them without more
good. Now I think we have to go to more serious matters. Although Uldric may think this is fine to begin with, I am well aware that a wedding like this would unite two kingdoms. Especially considering the potential of the current north. I'm not such an idiot that I don't see the future effect of the north on the south``. Because she had taken a look. At this time the North was producing a large amount of goods for what was Essos and the free cities were its main businesses, but what would happen once power came to the south? The answer is simple. The North would be radically strengthened and that was something that, although it could be classified as good and all at the same time, could be classified as something in which it wanted a slice.
´´Basically what you want is to negotiate before the other kingdoms the acquisition of the northern products for sale throughout all of Dorne to all the other houses. It's not a bad thing. And I suppose you also want what is clearly to forge an alliance between Dorne and the north. Very sensible and at the same time very daring``. With the impressive resources of the North—not just silk and spices, but spirits, better metal, glass, and new foods—he could see a considerable amount of new business with the South. Businesses that would draw a considerable amount of power into the hands of House Stark. And this woman wanted a solid alliance with them.
"I want to make sure that Dorne pulls through despite everything, Lord Stark. Is it so hard to conceive that a woman like me just wants to make sure that her kingdom and family are on the top?" Because it's normal. Especially with all the benefits that are in what is a business with you. Dorne must above all look for the best opportunity and I'm just making sure of it``. Melania felt that dealing with Lord Stark was different from dealing with other nobles from the seven kingdoms. He wanted nothing from the South other than his money. They had nothing going for them so they were at a complete disadvantage. What put her in a difficult situation
''It's a thought I can defend actually. Alright let's start with the smart stuff. The North knows that its products will be in high demand by everyone in the South. It does not mean that it is easy, but the South will seek to obtain the resources of the North. What I am saying is that thanks to this marriage alliance the North is willing to negotiate what is a discount of 25% of what is the cost of products from the North``. While it was an acceptable discount, he knew the woman wouldn't feel the same way. However, she had ways of defending her business. After all there were many cities besides the free cities that Dorne would have access to.
´´It is an acceptable discount but tell me, Lord Stark, why should I accept such a discount? A quarter of what is the northern product seems good to me but we are talking about an important alliance. My daughter Elia is about to marry Prince Rhaegar which means that by marrying your son to Ashara you would be winning not only the alliance of Dorne but also the crown. Although it seemed like a good deal, she knew better. He seemed pretty and all but he wasn't by any means the best thing to come of it. She could practically see in Rickard that that wasn't nearly enough. As if she didn't think it was that valuable at least in her mind
''Although that is true, I prefer that you not count the chicken's eggs before being able to take them. Although your daughter will marry the crown prince and all that does not mean that my house is getting something. And don't try to sell the point that your daughter will be able to do something. Targaryens are do-it-yourself types who rarely listen to their wives. The mention of it brought what was the treatment of the current queen neither more nor less at the hands of her husband and how this same husband did things. It didn't matter what was seen. It didn't matter what was believed. To somehow think that the queen would have power over the king was completely stupid in Rickard's mind.
´´A little exaggerated but my daughter is not stupid. She would be a more than decent force in court that could be important. Don't play dumb. You must know by now that the moment the potential of the north is known many of the different groups of nobles are going to somehow try to get their hands on it. You need what is basically the support and help of someone in the crown``. Because human greed was what would motivate everyone. They would want control of alcohol and resources. Many would try to make it look like something normal. But she could see the amusement in Rickard's eyes.
''No offense Lady Melania. But waiting for what you promise to come true seems ridiculous to me. You may believe that you have a chance. Hell you may believe you have a chance but the only reality is that there are those who truly have power in court. Your daughter according to the laws…will have no power``. It was something he knew pissed off Hariric and also one of the reasons why he was looking for a thousand and one ways to annul the marriage of his sister. For the fact that he wanted to save his sister from what would be the life of a marriage with someone like Robert Baratheon. He even hated what he had been forced to allow and was very serious about holding it back somehow.
''I guess that's true. But as I hope you see I hope you don't think I could just accept what a discount like that is for the alliance. I know you can offer a bigger discount Lord Stark but at the same time you don't think I'm worth it. I can see it in your eyes. She normally would have been offended for someone to look at her like that. Hell she would have been enraged that a person like the Starks thought so low of her. But at the same time she couldn't say that she could deny it. The Starks did not trust the South. Three hundred years of abuse weren't just wiped away after all and it didn't help in the slightest what were all the Andal attempts to fuck with them.
''When the lords of all the south rise up demanding that the north give up their secrets, Lady Melania need not worry that we Northerners will give up anything. There is no basis for it and believe me when I say this if anyone dares to upset the starks in this way all in an attempt to get a hand in our secrets everyone will pay the price for such actions you can be sure of that``. Hell her son had already established what would be the different groups that would move against them. She honestly had to admit that the way her son worked made it clear that she was not about to let it be in any way.
´´I hope then that things are good… I agree with a 25% discount on the purchase of materials and other consumables. However forgive me if I feel that Dorne is coming away with more than not winning as much as possible``. She hated him but Lord Stark was right. He knew that she had no way to loosen what would be the actions of the other members of the south. It didn't matter how she looked at the end of the day what mattered was that House Stark had to deal with the southerners somehow and they would do it her way. It looked like her adopted daughter was going to have a most interesting husband from what she could tell.
It's not that bad. You are forgetting that you will have to charge for the ships that will arrive in Dorne. As the only port in all of Dorne where our ships dock it's pretty obvious if I may say so that Dorne won't lose any money. Hell, you're clearly forgetting that the North also intends to make negotiations with Yi Ti and the slave bay cities. While I dislike the money you take from them it's money they can't use on slaves``. More than half of its current population came from what was formerly slaves that had been bought and acquired and then freed. His Hariric son explained that with such a tactic they would be doing the north good by incorporating people and at the same time screwing over the slavers
''That actually doesn't sound too bad to me if I have to say so, Lord Stark. Obviously he has thought it through. However, there is something else. How much would it cost me to request what is basically what the clean water pipe system is for and what is basically the sewage system of what is Braavos?``. When he heard the first time about it he actually got interested. It all started with the Olympus hotel and a single month later the lord of the sea and the lords of the iron bank wanted the same thing. It goes without saying that once it is known, everyone will want the same thing and of course that will mean more gold for House Stark. Just brilliant if she had to say so
that system? We would have to study it but even so we will see. It is hariric who designed such and such a style. It is by his actions neither more nor less that Braavos has that. I'll leave it in his hands anyway. Now if I may, I would like to have a conversation with my son about this conversation``. It was true. But if they were willing to pay, he was sure Hariric would design it for the city. Besides, it's not like it was too serious a problem to do the thing. Hariric knew enough about the job to set it up and take it down with his eyes closed, for he knew the systems in many ways. Once again he was proud of his son.
´´I will sit down then with the young Hariric to be able to know more or less the expense. However, I estimate that the expense will be reduced if the Martel house offers the workers and the materials for what will be the construction, right?``. She expected it to be so. Because if it wasn't then it didn't matter how much she wanted it or how well she sold her idea, her lords wouldn't be happy with a massive expense of anything. She at least expected things to work out that way. To her surprise Lord Rickard just gave her a nod as if he agreed with what she said. She for a moment thought that she would have to pay for workers and materials which was good.
''First talk to my son. He is the one who knows about these things. I doubt very much that there is a single person that can be equaled in all ways to what his job is anyway. In addition to that, I think you should know that he will not charge you as other gentlemen would. According to charging an arm and a leg for no reason, he is completely stupid and does you few favors``. His son was actually of the opinion that there were more ways to get money from people, such as the workers who kept the system clean. Or as an example those who did maintenance. Or the workers of what was the collection of salt of the so-called purifiers. In his opinion, this alone demonstrated that his son's head was well seated on his shoulders.
´´It seems then that I will have things well. Now I was wondering how long they would stay in Dorne. I mean, with the conversations over and everything, I don't see a reason to just hang around. I don't want them to go but I doubt the North will do well without their lord and his heir. Maybe if they stayed longer I could work with these people. Who knows what would come of it. At the moment the northern ships were much more unique. They were different and from what she could tell they were ships that were a revolution. She wondered how many changes they would bring to what the naval force is. But as long as House Stark keeps them, it doesn't matter what anyone says about it.
´´Hariric and I will go to what is King´s Landing. It's the moment. I sincerely believe that my son will do a much better job as lord despite his age. I think it's basically better and at the same time it will make my bannermen stop questioning the crap they're throwing around. Frankly, sometimes they can be annoying``. Especially the Boltons. They complained that Hariric had a monstrous amount of power and was making changes across the North. Not that he cared too much about the job. And his most loyal vassals were satisfied. But some were sticking their fucking heads out about it trying to make trouble
Melania agreed. She could see it. Although it is true that the young man could be the engine behind the changes, the truth is that the men did not really have to see him in a good light. Hell they might think it was an attempt to seize power in their own way. At least she showed that they were once again smart about it. It seemed that the alliance they had made was much more fruitful than she ever thought it would be. She decided anyway that it was best to observe so she decided that when her adoptive daughter went to the north she would also go not only to see the north but for new and complete things. She wanted to see that she had built the young lord and if possible she would like to see the same future for what was her home.
-Sunspear: Training Plaza-
Hariric could tell that in his life he had felt power. In his life he had felt more than one incredibly powerful being. He once was in the presence of a demon. The demons were beings that basically came from what was the dark dimension. It didn't matter which way he looked but he'd seen this demon and he hadn't felt half as paralyzed as he had at that very moment to say anything. The thing before him could not be classified as a simple being of this dimension or at least of what was the mortal plane which was saying something.
The beings were divided according to the power they had. The more powerful the less he felt about it. Not because they weren't possible to perceive or anything like that. No. It was for the simple fact that when a powerful being entered the mortal plane he had to limit his power to prevent them from doing great damage. When the so-called gods who were actually entities from higher planes came down to what was the mortal plane they had to considerably limit their power to prevent their powerful aspects from causing great chaos and damage. That's why if you felt it you still had to think that what was in front of him was even more powerful than what you saw anyway.
So when the thing arrived and he didn't feel any power and yet he was inclined by its power there was only one alternative and it was one thing but not a pleasant one: too powerful. Too strong. However, his concern was not him. He was used to this as there were many things he encountered while he was alive. It was Ashara Dayne who, like him, was there feeling or at least sensing the power. Knowing that if this continued like this it would be very bad for her she quickly called on her power to rise up like a dome of protection. She was insignificant compared to what the being could do but it would still keep her alive which was saying something of course.
A well-known fact is that when such a being interacted with a living being and the latter did not adapt to it, the chances were higher that said person would either go crazy or end up dead. Since he didn't want that to happen (on the one hand she was innocent, on the other hand it would be a real bitch to explain what had happened and finally there was the matter of needing answers) he made sure to create a dome of nine layers to protect it. When he saw her calm down from her clearly he smiled up at her. But there was something else strange in her gaze. As if she knew something. Before he had time to do anything, she approached him and did it with passion.
Hariric had not expected this in the least. He couldn't say that he felt bad. Hell, he found that most appropriate. But when he looked into her eyes he felt a call in her mind. They both met their eyes and he was surprised. He couldn't understand what he was seeing but it turns out that before him… was his wife Nymphadora Black. He couldn't understand it. Her physical appearance was very close except that she was brunette instead of the fair complexion that she had so it was understandable that he would not have been able to fully relate to her if she had to say so and well that and that she was always altering the look of her. She was little more than him and she liked to change in many ways to attract his attention, which was fun if he had to say so himself.
Nymphadora or Ashara as she was now called approached her husband. She hugged him tightly at that moment. A few minutes ago she had barely recognized him. She didn't even have a record of who he was. But as soon as her eyes had met she knew who he was. He was her Harry. The man who had loved her more than anything in the world. She was very happy to be able to see him again. She felt as if she had to say frankly that life was finally shining. Although nobles were far from what they basically were before since they didn't have the fucking world on top of them in the same way that they once did.
There was no mistake. Her husband once again had shown that he had the usual brain and had begun to revolutionize and raise what was the North above all. She couldn't blame him. He wasn't one to let anyone else walk all over him and there was a good chance that would come to pass of all things because of what the people of this kingdom were if they weren't careful. In the end the best defense was a good offense as her husband liked to say on occasion. And she couldn't say she blamed him for his decision. At least they won't be living in second-class places, which was much better than it was now.
She sighed before hugging him. She felt him tense before hugging her tight. He still remembered those last moments. The pure, unadulterated fury in her husband. The weakness that the experiment. She knew a lot. She knew that her husband was unhappy with what happened to him and that he blamed himself in many ways for what happened to him. He was happy to at least be here now and she hugged him back ignoring the powerful presence nearby. Not that she cared. She had more to deal with as a husband who was emotionally affected by her past. It was the most normal thing if she had to say it of course
''I have missed you so much my loving husband. I must say you look pretty good. Even fitter than before and you didn't look too bad before if I may say so``. Ashara laughed in amusement. She always found it fun to be in the presence of her husband. If she had to be frank she felt it was good to be able to be this good with him. There was nothing more to change than the simple fact that she was in the presence of her husband. That alone was worth whatever amount she had to pay. When she felt her tears she looked at her husband's face and sighed. He had always blamed himself for not being able to protect her in any way, which was actually saying something.
''And I have missed you so much my bright flower of war. You were always there to brighten my life. Since you left me things have become very complicated. I thank whatever happened that you are here with me once again. Hariric smiled at his wife with what was pure joy. But the pain in his eyes was still there, nothing would take it away. The pain of having failed his wife in some way was a pain that no being could take away in the slightest. His wife gave him a firm look as if making it clear that she was more than a little unhappy with hers. He sighed already waiting for the anger that she would give him for his attitude
''You should already know that you shouldn't blame yourself for what happened that day. It's not only completely idiotic and pointless but also a waste of time. What happened there was no way to avoid it. It doesn't matter what you say my husband. In the end the whole thing is that you couldn't help it. At least you made my day when you brought the pain to what was chasing me. She was a Black so of course she welcomed what it really meant to fuck her enemies. And when the ICW and the DOM paid it off big time she was more than a little happy with what her husband did with them.
´´I would have killed and preferred in a thousand different ways to have had a life with you, a life in which I could love you and have you close rather than have half the things I had. I don't care that I had the world at my feet, what mattered to me, beloved, is that you were not in that world. That was the great pain that Hariric had at that moment. That he hadn't had it in the slightest. That she was missing in his life. He didn't care if the world burned as long as she was in his world. It's all that really mattered to him. At least that's what he thought about it. It was all he ever wanted in life.
''You've always had me in your life. It didn't matter where she was. It didn't matter how far away I was because I had you and you had me. You are the only man who has been worth my life. I am the only woman who has been in your hard heart. So believe me when I tell you that even though he was far from you, he was in your life at all times. Only we couldn't be closer``. Ashara laughed in amusement. She found this funny. But now she had a chance with her husband that was more than she really had before. She was happy with the way things were and nothing and no one would change the world for her. At least now they were together once again, which was something valuable.
´´Well now that we are together you can believe me that it will take a whole army to separate you from me. I have lost you once. I will never let you go again``. Hariric meant this. Once they had separated him. They had taken half his heart out of him about it. And people thought they could get away with it. There would be no second time. His mind was already reasoning out the number of enemies he had in this world and in this age and he was making calculations on how to deal with them completely and safely. He wouldn't let them get anywhere near his wife and their future family together. Before that I would go through the same hell actually
´´Always the loving and kind man I ever met. I hope you know that he is not to say in any way that I will tolerate in the slightest that you keep me in any way as some kind of prisoner or anything like that. I am and always will be an independent woman so I hope you understand that my loving husband``. The very thought of him saying that he wouldn't be like that would raise a threat. It was Black and Martel did anyone really think they could tell him shit about it? To her surprise, her husband, only hers, smiled at her with genuine affection, gave her a new kiss, since he carried all the feelings he had for her, which filled her with joy.
I would never dream of telling you what to do and how to really live. Hell it'll be one day closer to hell before it's the mindless idiot who leaves you locked up in a tower anyway. I know you would plan ways to kill me before I could lay a single hand on you to do such a thing. Hariric laughed in amusement. The mere idea amused him. He could imagine his wife killing him or worse, torturing him in her own way for trying to impose her rules on him or something like that, she was actually that nice so thanks but no thanks, he had no intention of screwing up with her in the slightest. The smile he received was enough for him.
´´At least you have two fingers of brains more than the vast majority of the idiots that live in this era. Just because they seem to think they have two fucking balls and a cock they seem to think they have only one thing to say about it. What a complete waste of time in the world to think like that``. From her memories of her new life she had encountered one or two annoying occasions in the form of some lords who seemed to think that because they were lords she must be somehow inclined to them. It annoyed her in the worst way possible and made her furious that they had such stupid thoughts about her. From her. It made her feel happy that she put those bastards in their place.
´´Well, the opinion of the little trash doesn't matter too much. You should know by now my love that people think power is all that matters anyway. Not that I care too much what little fish create. I am happy to know that you are happy and that now we will have a new opportunity in life``. That was all that mattered to Hariric. What really mattered to him was that he would have a new one at the end of all business and that would mean in a nutshell that those who tried to fuck with them would no longer have to worry so much about them trying to get to his wife somehow. . It wouldn't end so well if she got her powers back.
''You know as well as I do that the so-called little trashes won't hesitate in the slightest to fuck with our lives. That the so-called little garbage will not have the slightest impediment in fucking with our lives. We gave them a chance in our previous world. You saw the consequences of it. It wasn't just his death. They made life almost impossible in every legal way for the Black family. To their children and their grandchildren. And he could only imagine what happened once he died. Possibly one of the brainless idiots thought it was a good idea to attack family members thinking nothing bad would come of it something that infuriated her in many ways
´´I am more than aware. I have a good list of everyone who will be a threat, however I also know that except for two, the rest are smart enough not to attack me, knowing that there will possibly be much worse consequences than they could imagine. At least that's the good news``. It was the good news anyway. except for Tully and Arryn, both Lannister and Tyrell would not seek to kill him. No that's wrong. They would look for him dead once he had a son who was in their minds easy to push. That's how things worked in such a world. Not that it worried him too much since he had his ways of dealing with the issues of those who seek to annoy him in any way.
''The Lannisters should be on your top shit list. Don't give me that look Harry. We both know they won't let you become a threat to the great so-called legacy just like that. Tywin Lannister is many things but he will never tolerate in any way a person who is a real threat to him as the undisputed lord of Westeros``. He had found himself arguing with Melania many times about who Tywin was. Melania described Tywin as a man driven by the need to survive but instead of staying stable he became too ambitious and well that didn't end well for him. Frankly, it would hurt him if it weren't because if he felt it necessary he would kill you from behind, treacherously using your own family for it.
''I wasn't thinking that far. But if we go that way, Olena Tyrell is another considerable threat since whether you like it or not, that woman will not take well that the power has been taken from the Tyrell family. And we will take it away. With the new alcoholic products the north will become a force that will basically eliminate Albor without any doubt``. Hariric had no problem with it. Hell, I felt like it was fair. The Tyrells were not his favorite family. In his mind they were famed climbers interested in expanding their power at the expense of others. Whatever happened to them wasn't his problem at all at best.
´´Okay but you had two people in mind before. Let me guess Tully and Arryn. Don't bother trying to look like you don't understand how I know what happened. Do you forget whose ward I am? The Tully thing because until you basically stopped buying food from them they had you by the balls. They don't like you so well there you go. And from what I understand, Arryn is raising your own second brother as a ward for the shit he pulls out. You didn't have to be a genius to get the data in question. She wouldn't deny in the slightest that she wasn't powerless but she had easily figured out how things happened and that's how she found out the truth. To her surprise, Hariric didn't seem the least bit upset.
´´You are as brilliant as ever. I suppose this will further convince the people of the north that you are my wife and not just a woman from the south. If they have problems well I can always negotiate with them in the old fashioned way of the Stark family``. Harirc grunted at the thought. He had heard from numerous people complaints that he did not want his lord to marry someone from the south. He actually found it idiotic. He was looking for a wife who would be a worthy companion. Even before knowing that Ashara was the reincarnation of his wife he could tell that no girl from the north was up to the task since they did not have the necessary education.
''I don't care what people say about me. You should know better than anyone what I think of the opinions. But I guess you can say I'm happy with your decisions. Anyway, I think I would like to be able to talk about it once we deal with the matter at hand``. She glared at the creature that was made of what was a cloak and pure darkness. Some would find it strange that she felt threatened by the being but now that she had her senses fully recovered she could honestly say that the being before her was very dangerous for the simple reason that she couldn't sense anything from it. The slightest. This was kind of scary actually
good. We will settle the matter. Now let's face the music. Whatever is about to happen we will face it together and at least I hope we don't end up getting hit by any special shit at this point. Hariric of course knew that the possibilities of bad terminals were vast but something told him with complete certainty that this being whatever was not here to put an end to them was a great possibility. He felt more like a being who was there to discuss matters of importance with them and frankly felt that he was good that he had been patient with them in catching up. At least he showed a degree of kindness
Yeah. Although at least we don't have to worry about what is basically having to take care of ourselves over time. It seems or at least it is what I think I can say that the being has frozen time in some way. I call that a considerable surprise but say it's a welcome good thing``. Time was not one of the most notable aspects of magic. Manipulation of this power was classified as high level and prohibited. Time manipulation was so dangerous that some even said that simply studying it was off-limits. Her husband agreed with it, thinking that time was one of the most dangerous aspects in the hands of anyone and he did not even want said power.
i guess. Let's face the music we now have. Then we deal with what it's like to talk and finally we have the thing to settle of what it's basically dealing with everyone who wants to give an idiotic opinion about how to live our lives``. With a final sigh Hariric decided that it was time to start having the long-awaited talk with the being before them. So he decided that the best thing was to arm himself with courage. He felt it and gave his wife a new kiss. She could easily be the heart and soul of his life for real. So they approached the being she was waiting for so patiently that she would even say it was abnormal.
Hariric advanced with his beloved on his arm while the being of darkness was ahead. For a moment there was nothing until the being shone. Instead of being the being in the robe, he changed to a human dressed in a black suit with a dark green shirt and a black and silver tie. The man had black hair and emerald green eyes. Needless to say, the two were shocked when what they saw was basically a full version of Hadrian Corvus Black. The man gestured and three comfortable armchairs appeared before pouring himself a blood-red drink in fine crystal goblets set with gold. The man might look scary but the two of them sat comfortably
''Oh. This is so much better if I'm the one to say it. Do you know the fuck it is to appear to be a being of full power? You can't imagine it. It's complete bullshit if I may say so. But hey, I think there are many questions. Shall we start with the first one please?``. The being spoke so quietly and calmly that some would say he was crazy. The being stayed there with nothing else. Like she thought what he was doing was funny. There was no better way to put it. Yet despite all the being also looked as if he wanted to pass off as if what he was hadn't affected anyone in any way. It wasn't the best of things but no one could deny the power of it either.
''Yes, well, I have a question. Why the hell do you look like my husband? And although it's okay, I'll believe that you're death and all that shit, I'd like to know why you chose my husband out of all the possibilities. Ashara glared at the being. If she was taking it because it was a joke she would be furious in many ways. But if the guy was just trying to pick a friendly image he could understand even a little. Although she would not deny that there would be greater preferences on his part. Heck he could have chosen any other look heck. The being just gave her an amused look almost as if he found her interesting. He poured himself some of the wine and she saw that he was comfortable and not worried.
´´mmm and here I thought that your first question would be what the hell are we doing here? Or better yet, why do I only remember who I really am right now? However you choose the question of why I chose the face of the man you married. Don't worry, it's not to seduce you. I am a firm man who respects all that about marriage in which two souls are united even in death``. The being laughed in amusement. Truth be told, he could have chosen many aspects but this one brought back good memories and if he was honest he much preferred a face that brought back good memories than one that was a nuisance and a plague like some existences throughout his long life.
We have those questions and many more. For example, have you forgotten the question: How have I kept the effects of the rituals that I suffered as a child on myself? When one dies, they lose the rituals and everything. In addition to that, I think there are more questions, but since my wife has asked you, I would like to know what the reason is and everything. Thanks for saying you don't want to seduce her. At least the guy wasn't plotting to cheat and use his wife. He was way better than some jerks he knew. The guy smiled before drinking again. Curious, he poured himself a bit of wine and also savored it, finding it to his liking, of course, which earned his wife's attention.
''Okay, let's get started. It is the least I can do. Okay first stop why do I look like your husband? Well let's start with the theory of the multiverse. The multiverse implies a bunch of universes which implies that they are derived from a so-called main universe. So naturally if there is a main universe you come to the basic conclusion that I am your self from that main universe isn't that nice?``. The theory was good and all. He was very amused in a few days by what was discovered. Each main universe spawned multiple universes from which hundreds of different timelines were created. Quite funny from his point of view to see all their possible lives...others not so much
''Are you saying you're Harry? Well I can see it. The looks and all that means in a nutshell that you are the main Harry but then what is my husband? It's me? Are we just puny copies of what was basically your universe? Because if that's the case, I'm telling you, go to hell and leave us alone for once. Ashara felt no fear of this being if it was true that he was Harry. Although she could tell he didn't feel the same range of empathy as hers, Harry, she could tell that if it really was Harry, he would never hurt her because he would never want to make a loved one suffer. The other Harry laughed with her as if he found her funny or something.
Yep. I am the original One so to speak. No. You are not copies. Every life is a different universe, do you get it? In any case, each new universe is caused by different and unique possibilities that affect the people in it. For example, in my universe I stayed with my aunt who was the bitch of bitches. I lived a life of manipulations and hell. Everything to become the great herald. The fourth horseman. All that shit. I'm the guy who was lucky enough to become the first master of death, and with it the S-class bullshit that attracted everyone in my line of existence. The truth was that his story was bullshit. Why didn't you sleep with your eyes open when they told you that magic could do anything? Damn Moody was right with the constant surveillance
´´We are the fruit of other alternatives that could have had an effect in the original universe. Well that's better than being told you're a copy but why do you say that supposedly you're the one who screwed up for the entire assembly line? I haven't seen any effects from being the master of death. It's just a title, nothing more``. Hariric could almost feel the pain in his head when he saw the other Harry almost looked like he was about to have a fit. It almost sounded like colossal shit that hits in the worst possible way. It wasn't the most promising if you really had to stop and think about it.
Well, let's start with a fact. Each of the relics was intended to test a person. The cape proves what one's self-preservation instincts are. You can always use it and see it as a tool or put it aside. The stone tests one's resistance to loss. And the wand tests one's resistance to power. To put it basically I resisted all three and then was the idiot in charge who renounced the power that the three damn things give you just because of what was the manipulations of one fucking old coot. The memory of that day still haunted him. He never believed that he could have been more of an idiot than that day but hey he was an idiot in that line
´´Let me see if I have it on one. You gained the power of all three because you resisted them. You resisted living in hiding your whole life. You resisted calling your loved ones. You resisted fucking with everyone who screwed you over. And when the time came for that union of power, you just told him to go to hell, right?``. Ashara almost winced. A Gryffindor. The first version of her husband had been a fucking lion. She wasn't surprised that he fucked her up so big. She wasn't surprised that it was so easy to screw up everyone else's existence with her actions after all.
bingo. So I died…and I met the big boss. The aunt who makes everyone shit their pants with her presence. And the aunt was furious. It turns out that the term master of death is for those who have managed to resist the temptations of death and then accept it. I rejected it out of a sense that no one should be powerful and death is obviously not happy so it destroyed the image I had of my fucking life``. That was the worst moment of his existence. Knowing that your whole life is a fucking lie is not the best of things that can happen to you and that was an understatement with what she wanted to do to him.
´´I feel like your life was shit but that doesn´t explain in the slightest why according to you that ended up screwing up all the versions of yourself for what was basically the future``. Hariric felt sorry. He really felt it... but if he had been such a fucking idiot to be gullible and trusting when he didn't know anyone, knew nothing about anyone and what's more important he had zero idea of the world then frankly only him and nothing more than him I was to blame for it. And from what he could tell the older self of him realized how badly he had screwed up on that point. Well better that than blaming someone else anyway
''Oh don't be sorry. I screwed it up. I know. And well I have to be. It sucked anyway because really there was only supposed to be one master of death, get it? In the entire multiverse and all that was only one death and only one master of death. As punishment you could say that I am the head of administration of DEATH INC. In short, every time one of my selves that reaches the rank of master of death instead of succeeding the previous one gets to work for me. I have been around for a long, long time. And it's complete bullshit. And it was. It was about the shitty job. He had to do a very silly and risky job as well as dangerous if he had to say so himself. But hey, that's life
''So every time a Harry reached the rank of master of death it was supposed to succeed the previous one. But since you screwed up, they punished you as an administrator and then every time one reaches a grade, the guy has to work in the organization. I think I can say it's bullshit. And well, my husband is one of those who exceed everyone's expectations``. It was not a lie. Her husband had a fucking gift for destroying everyone's existence. Every time a person thought they could get away with it, they found out how wrong they were about it. that was his life
''Aha girl. That's how it is. Every time a Harry of Potter descent reached the degree of being able to use the relics if he accepted them, he became what was, in a few words, another employee of my august body. If the guy didn't gather them, nothing happens. If the guy collected them but he was an idiot like me, well, let's say it that way, it was bad. But only one in ten is an idiot in that sense and always for the same fucking reason all that stuff about right and wrong and whether to be fair to the bad guys and all that shit. It was bullshit. Why didn't those versions realize that for evil to flourish the good guys just have to stand still and be good guys? What a complete bunch of idiots
''Well the explanation is detailed. I guess now I'm going to the important thing. Why am I here? It's not that I'm wrong with the idea of a reincarnation but let's just say that I'm curious. Hariric obviously wanted to know but what he didn't expect was the smile of his other version.
''But what an obvious question. You are here for one thing only: to save the world`
