Herrscher of Dominance in Honkai, starting with the abduction of Kiana

Chapter 31: Raven Accepts the Commission

The excessive Honkai energy from the Herrscher of Dominance was constantly overflowing within the Chris puppet, and at the same time, the massive chaos and madness contained within the Honkai energy were eroding his mind at every moment.

There wasn't a single living thing left on the entire street. Blood flowed across the ground, dyeing the earth crimson red. If the black fog hadn't obscured the sky, it would have been discovered by satellites immediately.

But it was already close enough. The sheer violence of the Chris puppet made even Ren feel somewhat disgusted. An incident of this magnitude would definitely draw Schicksal's intervention. Right now, he was like a wild wolf about to break free. Ren needed to cut off his connection with it in advance, or he'd risk being exposed.

"H... help... me... last..." The fragmented voice came from the puppet. Ren, who was about to give up, paused, listening quietly to Chris's final request.

"Bury... me... with... sister..."

The fragmented voice was already hard to distinguish. Chris was using his last sliver of sanity to make a plea to Ren.

"..."

After a moment of silence, the threads of Dominance began to move, completely controlling Chris's puppet. Ren controlled the blood-soaked puppet, returning step by step to the front of the residence. There, the headless corpse of Chris and the body of Corona, who had shot herself, were leaning against each other.

Just like before, relying on each other, accompanying each other in death.

The most profound regret was probably that Chris never resolved his misunderstanding with his sister, and Corona failed to convey her birthday wishes to her brother in the end.

Boom—

The Chris puppet slammed heavily onto the ground, sending dirt and debris flying, forming a huge pit. Ren controlled the puppet, carefully placing the two of them into the hole. Behind them was their home, now completely reduced to ruins, but now, they were home.

"Th... thank..." The last vestiges of consciousness came from the Chris puppet, then, under the combined erosion of the wild wolf and Honkai, it transformed completely into a monster. It would carry out its last grudge from its former life, seeking revenge on all the gangs, until it was completely annihilated.

The puppet threads were severed, and the fog enveloping the sky also gradually dissipated, leaving behind only a monster, slowly staining the entire city red.

"Where the heck is the Fanghe Gang? They issue a commission and don't even have anyone to receive me. These low-level gangs are just unreliable." A hooded woman stepped off the plane, her wide black and red cloak fluttering in the helicopter's downdraft.

Having accepted the arrangement from World Serpent, Raven would soon be dispatched to ARC City to oversee the defense of Heliopolis Life Sciences Pharmaceutical. It was said that traces of the Herrscher of the Void had been discovered in ARC City, and Schicksal had already sent people to investigate. To prevent their Stigmata awakening plan from being discovered, Raven, as one of the few highly capable cadres, was responsible for this operation.

But before that, Raven, as a mercenary, would also take on commissions from the underworld.

Although World Serpent's income wasn't low, it was still far from Raven's goal. She had already saved enough money originally.

But.

"My villa island..."

An indescribable sense of grief and anger filled Natasha Cioara's heart, making her exceptionally irritable about this commission.

She took out her phone and kept dialing the Fanghe Gang's contact number, but it was constantly busy. As for the Thousand Fists Gang, the target of this commission, although Raven had already received information, it was not as familiar as local intel.

"Forget it, I'll just take action directly. They wouldn't dare to default on a commission from a World Serpent cadre." Giving a hand gesture to the helicopter pilot in charge of her transport, Raven chose to head to the target point alone.

However, even before she arrived, a foul odor assaulted her nostrils. As she got closer to the city, the thick smell of blood became overwhelming.

Raven frowned tightly, one hand already on the bow at her side. This small town was far too quiet, and it gave her a very ominous feeling.

Suddenly, a dark shadow flew toward her. Natasha's expression sharpened, and with speed that the naked eye could not perceive, she drew her bow and shot, knocking the dark shadow down.

Only after the dark shadow fell did Raven recognize what it was. It was half a corpse, ripped in two by tremendous brute force, a truly horrifying sight.

Natasha covered her nose and mouth, silently taking a step back. Suddenly, she realized that the tattoo on the torso was very familiar; it seemed to be the mark of the Fanghe Gang, the ones who had commissioned her.

"Could it be gang warfare? But even the most brutal battles wouldn't turn into such a bloody scene." Her feeling was very bad, her heart like it was being weighed down by a dark cloud. Her mission hadn't even started yet, and it seemed the client who was paying her was already done for.

Just as she was thinking, another dark shadow pounced on her.

The bowstring hummed, and a specially crafted arrow pierced the shadow's body. But this time, she miscalculated. Although the arrow hit the target, the figure neither fell like an inanimate object nor screamed like a living one. Instead, it rushed towards her with undiminished speed.

With a roll on the ground, Raven evaded the attack. The dark shadow crashed heavily into the ground, leaving a deep crater in the concrete.

It was a human figure, nearly its entire body stained with blood, with disgusting, grimy pieces of flesh smeared all over it, a truly terrifying sight.

"Who are you?" she asked instinctively, but Raven immediately realized that this thing was likely not human at all. Her arrow was still embedded in it.

In that moment of hesitation, Chris, completely controlled by Honkai, didn't care who she was. His arm twisted 180 degrees, an angle impossible for a human, and slammed down at her. Caught completely off guard, Raven only had enough time to use her bow to block, before being sent flying.

As a combat cadre of World Serpent, Raven's combat abilities were not to be underestimated, but her strength lay in ranged combat. The current Chris was not only incredibly strong and fast, but more importantly, his body was a puppet; he didn't feel any pain, nor would his muscles give out and cause him to lose control of his body.

After a few exchanges, Raven was actually being suppressed by the current Chris. Although her life wasn't in danger, this was still an unimaginable situation.

Based on Ren's current ability, injecting all of the puppets into Chris could at most raise him to the level of a B-rank Valkyrie. But the current Chris's fighting power was definitely at A-rank; that was the effect of choosing a puppet built for pure violence.

Of course, the side effects were also very serious, but judging from the current situation, an A-rank like Raven might really be in danger of being taken out by the Chris puppet early if she didn't escape.
