Chapter 63: Catching a Coconut Goat
The moment Xu Zheng heard what was said, he immediately understood—
I've been made the errand boy.
Right on cue, a few lines of text appeared before his eyes:
[Option 1: Say "Yeah, it'd be great if someone could help." — Reward: 5,000 Mora]
[Option 2: Agree to help. — Reward: 1-Star Item: Household Cup]
[Option 3: Happily agree and ask if there's anything else you can help with. — Reward: 10 Primogems]
???
Xu Zheng frowned.
Something's not right with the system.
The reward for Option 3—Primogems—was way better than the rest, yet it involved being even more helpful?
Suspicious... very suspicious.
Still, for the sake of those precious Primogems, Xu Zheng replied without hesitation:
"No problem, Boss Baizhu. I can deliver the medicine for you. If there's anything else you need done, I can take care of it all in one go."
"Much appreciated," Baizhu replied. "Though, there's nothing else at the moment."
Just then, Qiqi raised her little hand.
"Qiqi, do you need help with something?" Xu Zheng asked gently.
Qiqi nodded. "Xu Zheng-gege, can you go to Tianheng Mountain and use the Guizhong Ballista to catch me a coconut goat?"
If Ganyu were here right now, she'd definitely be too mortified to show her face.
After all, "coconut milk" was rumored to come from "coconut goats"… and who else but Ganyu was the so-called coconut goat?
[New Quest Triggered]
[Objective: Fulfill Qiqi's request]
[Description: Loli Qiqi is adorable. Drinking milk makes her even more adorable.]
[Quest Requirements: Head to Tianheng Mountain, capture the coconut goat, and satisfy Qiqi's request.]
[Reward: 50 Primogems]
Xu Zheng blinked.
So that's what this was all leading up to.
Option 3 wasn't just about being a good guy—it was a prerequisite to unlock this hidden quest. The system really did go all out just to deliver him more Primogems.
Thanks, system. That was… actually kind of thoughtful.
Xu Zheng mentally gave the system half a second of gratitude, then turned to Qiqi and said:
"Alright, Qiqi. I'll get it done."
In Genshin Impact, the Traveler once tried to help Qiqi catch a "coconut goat" too… and failed miserably.
Truth was, Qiqi didn't really want a goat. She just wanted coconut milk.
The kind made from coconuts. The bootleg stuff.
The real deal—authentic coconut milk—only Ganyu could produce.
As a transmigrator, Xu Zheng was well aware of all this.
What puzzled him, though, was that the quest required him to actually go catch one. Did that mean… the coconut goat really existed?
He was half-skeptical.
Leaving the Bubu Pharmacy, Xu Zheng now carried a packet of medicine.
It had to be delivered to Wangshu Inn.
Unfortunately, Tianheng Mountain and Wangshu Inn weren't exactly in the same direction.
"How about we split up?" Yanfei suggested. "One group goes to catch the coconut goat, the other delivers the medicine."
"Good idea," the others agreed.
"In that case, I'll team up with Xu Zheng to catch the goat," Yanfei added quickly.
Xiangling immediately frowned. "Hold up—shouldn't we split into two pairs? You and Eula, me and Xu Zheng. Nice and balanced."
"No no no," Yanfei countered. "I think it'd be great if you and Eula got some bonding time."
Eula, who had been quietly observing from the side, was not amused.
She was cold. She was angry. She was coldly angry.
They both ditched me... just so they could pair up with Xu Zheng?
Fine. This grudge—I'll remember it.
Xu Zheng quickly stepped in. "Alright, alright—how about we settle it with a game? Palms or backs of hands. Everyone put your hand out. If two people match, they're a team."
Yanfei and Xiangling considered it.
Seemed fair enough.
"Hey, Xu Zheng," Yanfei leaned in and whispered. "What are you going to pick—palm or back?"
Trying to boost her odds, she resorted to some light under-the-table scheming.
"Back," Xu Zheng replied honestly.
Xiangling saw them whispering and called her out. "Yanfei, that's cheating."
"I'm just working within the system," Yanfei replied. "No one said I couldn't ask."
Seeing another argument coming, Xu Zheng quickly interrupted, "I'm going with back. Let's just get on with it."
"Alright." The two girls grudgingly agreed.
But in her mind, Yanfei wasn't convinced.
Xu Zheng says back? Yeah right.
Who admits what they're really going to pick? No one. Definitely bluffing.
So, she chose palm.
"One, two, three—go!"
They all held out their hands.
Yanfei was stunned.
Xiangling was also stunned.
Xu Zheng had actually told the truth. He really picked back!
Wasn't he supposed to bluff? Throw them off?
Both girls had assumed he'd say one thing and pick the opposite.
The only one who hadn't overthought it was Eula, who casually picked "back" out of habit.
And just like that, the groups were set:
Yanfei + Xiangling
Xu Zheng + Eula
As they prepared to go their separate ways, Yanfei walked over, grabbed Eula's hand, then grabbed Xu Zheng's, and solemnly placed the two together.
"Eula, I'm entrusting Xu Zheng to you. Take care of him, okay?"
"I will," Eula said softly.
Even if Yanfei hadn't said anything, Xu Zheng's safety was already her top priority.
After all, he was her friend.
An important friend.
Once they were walking, Eula suddenly realized—
Her hand was still holding Xu Zheng's.
She'd been too focused on "protecting" him to notice at first, but now...
Her face flushed red.
Her heart was pounding.
I've never held hands with a boy older than ten before...
Breathe... calm down...
Xu Zheng may look mature, but mentally he's still young. His growth had happened all at once, after all.
With that thought, her heartbeat began to steady.
Her gaze softened.
Don't worry. Big sister will protect you.
Tianheng Mountain
The sun was scorching, and it took them ages to get there.
Thankfully, both Eula and Xu Zheng had Cryo Visions and could create ice.
They made it through the trip by conjuring ice chunks and munching on them along the way.
Even feeding them to each other.
Xu Zheng created ice and fed Eula.
Eula created ice and fed Xu Zheng.
Things always taste better when someone else gives them to you.
Elsewhere, Xiangling and Yanfei were not having such a good time.
Both were Pyro users.
Their only elemental ability was… to cook themselves faster in the sun.
They were nearly roasted alive.
"Xu Zheng," Eula asked, "what exactly does the Guizhong Ballista look like?"
Xu Zheng thought back to what he remembered from Genshin lore.
"It's basically a giant, self-firing crossbow—built long ago by the ancient Adepti to defend Liyue from monsters."
"Self-firing?" Eula asked, curious. "Like some kind of alchemical weapon?"
Before he could answer—
