Help! I Became A Guy In A BL Novel!

Chapter 286: Bunny Ears

Riven expected him to release his wrist, to stammer out some apology—but instead, Eli's other hand pressed flat to his chest, warm even through the fabric of his shirt.

"Sit," Eli said, voice small but steady.

Riven's mouth parted. For a second, just a fraction of a second, he felt genuinely startled. Was this the Eli he knew? Definitely not!

Then, curiosity curling low in his stomach, he let Eli push him back down into the chair.

Eli followed, leaning over him, pink eyes wide and bright. For all his embarrassment, there was something different in his expression—an intent focus that Riven hadn't seen before.

"Are you saying I'm lying?" Eli asked. His voice was hushed, but it wasn't shaky anymore.

Riven's pulse jumped. He couldn't help it.

For a moment, he just looked at Eli, struck by how lovely he was up close: his long lashes fanning across flushed cheeks, the delicate pink mouth. His hand—still pressed to Riven's chest—was trembling slightly, but the rest of him wasn't.

Riven's lips curved, lazy and just a little dangerous.

"What," he murmured, "if I said you were lying?"

Eli blinked. His breath hitched, a tiny, audible sound.

And still, he didn't move away.

Riven tilted his head up, his own breath coming a little uneven. The wine started to take effect on him too, though he was not as drunk as Eli.

Eli opened his mouth—but no words came. His throat let out a soft hum, pink eyes wide and fixed on Riven's.

They were so close Riven could feel the heat of him, the faint brush of Eli's breath against his mouth—warm and laced with the sweet, fruity tang of wine.

For a suspended moment, neither of them moved.

But then Eli moved, and instinct took over.

Eli leaned in and closed the space between them.

The kiss was nothing like Riven had expected.

It wasn't hesitant. It wasn't delicate.

Eli kissed him like he'd wanted to for a very long time.

Riven made a soft noise of surprise—because he hadn't thought Eli would actually do it—but he didn't pull away.

Eli's hand on his chest slid higher, curling into the fabric of his shirt as if to hold him still. His lips were warm and impossibly soft, tasting faintly of wine and something sweet, something that was all Eli.

Riven was enjoying and also freaking out! Conquering the male leads was much easier than conquering this shy, flustered and soft MC. But here he was, kissing Eli!

Riven's heart was beating so fast he thought Eli must feel it.

He was vaguely aware he could end this. He could push Eli back—he could laugh it off, pretend it hadn't happened.

But instead, he let himself kiss Eli back, slow and deliberate.

Eli made a tiny, broken noise against his mouth. His hand trembled, then settled more firmly over Riven's racing heart.

He always wanted Eli for himself, he was no better than a man... Well, now he was a man, so it doesn't matter!

Riven barely had time to process the first kiss before Eli shifted closer.

The movement was slow, almost hesitant, but deliberate. Eli's knee pressed onto the edge of the seat, sliding between Riven's thighs, and Riven felt himself sink just a little deeper into the chair, breath caught in his throat. Eli's hand was still at his chest, now clenched gently into the fabric of his shirt.

The warmth of his body, so close, was disorienting.

Riven tilted his head back further to maintain contact, letting Eli lead the kiss.

And gods, he was leaning into this. He was excited.

It wasn't rough. It wasn't rushed. Eli kissed like he was memorising something important—soft and deep and careful, as if he was tasting a truth he'd kept hidden for too long. Each press of his lips sent a jolt of electricity down Riven's spine.

Riven's hands moved instinctively, arms wrapping around Eli's waist, fingers curling at the small of his back. He leaned back into the plush of the chair, dragging Eli just a bit closer, letting the smaller man settle his weight against him.

He could feel the steady beat of Eli's heart, or maybe it was his own, throbbing in his ears, in his chest, in the way their mouths moved against each other.

Eli's hand slid from his chest up to his jaw, cupping his cheek with a tenderness that made Riven exhale through his nose.

It wasn't lust. Not really.

It was warmth. It was softness. It was comfort in its purest form.

Eli kissed him like Riven meant something. Like he wasn't just a patient, or a flirt, or a boy caught in the chaos of too many emotions. He kissed Riven like he was the only thing in the world that made sense.

And Riven… Riven just loved it.

Eli's lips brushed once more against his, slower this time, lingering. His breath came out in a tiny puff, his chest rising and falling with quiet tension. Their foreheads rested against each other, and for a long moment, neither of them moved.

Riven finally opened his eyes, blinking up into those wide pink ones.

But before Eli could retreat any farther, Riven surged forward, catching his wrist and tugging him back down. He didn't give Eli time to overthink or stammer out another apology.

He kissed him.

This time, Riven was the one leading, slow, confident, teasing in a way that was entirely his. Eli made a startled sound against his mouth, but he didn't pull away. Instead, his hands fluttered uncertainly before landing on Riven's shoulders.

And then it happened.

With a tiny, almost embarrassed twitch, Eli's bunny ears flicked out of his soft hair, standing upright in surprise.

Riven smiled into the kiss, heart fluttering at the sight. Gods, he'd always thought they were cute. He tilted his head just enough to deepen the kiss, savoring the soft warmth of Eli's mouth, before sliding his hands up from Eli's back and aimed for his ears.
