The Eye That Wishes III.

“Nice fancy meeting you here Mr. Langelaitan if I’m not mistaken.” As he woke up after being knocked out, Yngvar had to gulp down his vomit as the wind of bad metallic stench assaulted his senses. The source was an elderly dwarf, his fair, wrinkled face covered not just in his graying brownish beard that flowed down to his waist, but also in a heavy layer of dirt and sweat. Sweat that also tainted his quite gaudy attire of mauve and snow silver.

“While I wouldn’t mind seeing Luzie pry your mind, I’m too close to the Eye.” Arradirlun walked away, lessening his stench assaulting Yngvar, his sealed cheeks puffing out as he took in the cold air of the crypt.

“Well, I won’t take anymore of your time my dears. Have fun.” He bid the Black Roses farewell and disappeared, turning right at the arched doorway.

“Nnph hnn!” Yngvar tried to compliment the naurdian Seidhaeth with long layered blonde hair with brown under layers cascading down onto her Vigrieth Type-IV Coat with multilayered scaled shoulders. Even its uneven, cone-shaped collar reaching in the back up to her head was hidden under her thick hair. Her face featured sharp elven traits, a prominent, graceful jawline, slightly elongated eyes, and arched, slim brows above the yellow, almost golden eyes. Her lips were rich in a reddish color, soft and plump as they stretched between her cheeks under her long, small nose adorned with three rings hanging on the right side.

“I promise I’ll be gentle.” The stretchy noises of her leather attire echoed through the crypt as she leaned closer to his taped face. Her blouse’s sharp, folded stiff collars reaching her jawline, dyed in a rich, deep hue of ripe plums cast off a combination of its and a snow silvery light as the torches’ lights hit it and the aetherna satin walls of the coat.

“N mmnnmnn'ph mnnn mnn hmnng n hnph rnngh mmnphh mm.” Yngvar tried to speak once more, with a playful look on his face while he was bound to the old, stone chair. “I’m sure of that. Keep watch just in case.” Luzie turned around swiftly, ordering the two Hirdriars who projected a dejected look upon receiving it.

“You can play with him after I’m done.” She let out a sigh then added, their eyes lit up with happiness before turning around. “Now, let’s not waste any more time, shall we?” She said with a wicked smirk on her alluring face. Her arms moved into position, her hands stretched out at his temples. His eyes went emotionless as a transparent, faint arcane glow projected from her palms onto his temples.

“Shit, he is in trouble, isn’t he?” Elianisstria’s footsteps echoed in the enormous intersection as she walked back and forth. She was already aware that she was wrong about the Black Roses delving into this side of the ruins, evident from the two vordriars lying at her feet unconscious, their arms bent behind and thoroughly secured in sealing tape, similarly to their legs. Long strips covered their eyes and mouths, shimmering as she passed in front of them, blocking, then letting the torches’ lights fall onto them.

“Well, what to do?” She asked herself while looking at the tallest, the high elven vordriar. She pondered where he may have been captured or where he had been taken inside the ruins. Then as her mind wandered towards bad thoughts, a sensation filled it, transforming into knowledge of his location. Or at least the rough location as Yngvar managed to activate his relic.

She rushed towards his location, evading the patrols that still scoured the empty corridors and halls, making sure no undead disturbed their search. Then she spotted the two Hirdriars standing guard in the arched doorway outside the crypt where his mind became an open book slowly to Luzie.

She remained ducked behind the walls, waiting for the nearby patrols to pass into the distance. Then with a single shot, the translucent bullet passed through the first the iarmailtian Hirdriar with white bluish skin reminiscent of the clear sky during the day, soft white hair done in a high bun with a thick fringe, possessing the softness of clouds. Then as her Sister, a dark elf with dark, oily skin that almost made her blend in with the walls, long shimmering white hair parted onto the left with the right side exposed and shaven, turned around. She quickly spotted both the mana bullet and Elianisstria, but it was too late to call out to Luzie or even dodge out as it passed through her abdomen.

Before they could hit the ground, though, Elianisstria held her right arm out, and the two stopped mid-air before slowly lowering down. Then she stepped over the iarmailtian and headed inside.

“Arms up where I can see them!” Luzie stopped prying his mind, slowly raising her arms in the air while the wand pistol was pushed to the back of her head.

Then as she felt mana condensing within Luzie, she whacked her in the back of her head. As she collapsed like a puppet whose strings had been cut, her beret fell onto Yngvar’s lap. “Hang in there!” Elianisstria said, her voice filled with worry as she rushed to the back to free his wrists.

“Thanks. They almost found out about you.” He said after swiftly tearing the tape off, pulling some strands of his beard. “Bring those two in, I’ll take care of her.” The two quickly embraced each other, then she pointed her eyes to the doorway where the two Hirdriars still lay unconscious.

Without a word, he rushed out, bringing them in, while Elianisstria grabbed Luzie and placed her on the stone chair. She quickly conjured her borrowed silver sealing tape and quickly secured her wrists behind her back, then the ankles to the chair. Then she looped the sealing tape around her whole upper body before pulling Luzie’s head back. She tore off a long strip and carefully sealed her lips and cheeks before smoothing it once with her hands.

Meanwhile, clicks echoed through the crypt as Yngvar cuffed the two Hirdriars with their arms looped over each other as they sat back to back. She rushed to him and wound the sealing tape across their ankles and thighs before gagging them with short strips.

“Let’s hurry. Arridirlun probably found the relic by now.” He said as the two rushed out after he took the wand pistol of the dark elven Hirdriar after she looped the sealing tape across their chest for good measure. Along the way, they ran into a few patrols they made short work of, thanks to them being a bit surprised at seeing Ereveusal with him.

“I’ll take the right.” He said as they stopped at the final corridor leading straight towards the vault. She nodded her head as they prepared for battle with the six Hirdriars who stood still before their arrival. Mana became visible around her left arm while the other held the wand pistol, as she rushed at the left three. She made short work of the orcish stygian Hirdriar she met up with earlier while her arcane blade clashed with the naurdian’s axe. The third one quickly collapsed as she first froze her in space, then hit her with one of her mana bullets. The second aimed at the orcish stygian missed as she Blinked out of its way.

Elianisstria let out a groan as her last opponent’s leg forcefully impacted her gut, sending her crashing into the mural adorned wall. She gasped for air while crawling towards her wand pistol, as her arcane blade had already dissipated on impact. She yelped as she grabbed the pistol, but the stygian’s right foot pushed down on it. A wild smile curved onto her soft lips before she, too, let out a grunt.

Yngvar’s lash wrapped around her collars, tightening them around her neck before he yanked it. She fell down onto her back, while Elianisstria got up and aimed the wand pistol at her. A weak, blurring mana bullet flew out from its flat barrel right into her abdomen. With a yelp, she went limp as her arms spread out.

“Here.” Yngvar rushed to her, taking out a mana potion from his pouch. He lifted it to her faux lips, pouring it slowly as her head slumped on his shoulders. “Now we’re even.” He said jokingly while caressing her faux hair.

“Not even close.” She replied with a smile as their lips touched each other for a mere moment. Then they sprang up and rushed to the imposing gate at the end, adorned with draconic figures on both sides spewing flames at the center.

“Finally, after so many years.” Arridirlun gazed upon the spherical object. Its surface was both shimmering and rough like a diamond. In its dark center, an ominous light bathed the vault in prismatic colors. As he stood in its presence, joy and relief mixed within him, his faded mauve eyes focused on it.

With slow steps, he approached The Eye while the Black Roses kept the undead at bay, pouring forth from the walls in which they were buried for thousands of years. As he got closer and closer to it, a warmth coursed through his body. But not just his body, even the surroundings were affected. Even the Black Roses felt the heat, their bodies under the heavy layers of soft, shimmering uniform drenched in sweat. The enchantments woven into them trying their best to keep them cool, with little to no success.

Then, as the undead stopped in their relentless march, they started catching on fire, and so did the alluring Black Roses. Their screams echoed through the vault and even the corridor as the flames consumed not just their flesh and bones but even their dark attires.

In a similar fashion, Arridirlun continued on. His complexion lacking any emotion as his face was consumed by the prismatic flames. With each step, melting, burning flesh and soft fabric fell to the ground, marking his straight path towards the elevated platform where The Eye floated. As his arms lifted up in the air, his sleeves no more, his flesh a melted puddle that dripped down to the ground.

In the end, the cavernous air within the vault blew away his skeletal form, leaving nothing behind of Arridirlun of the Snowforged Family.

“What happened here?” Elianisstria asked as the vile stench of death and flames reached her nostrils. She looked around for any sign of the enemy, whether it be living or dead, but only an empty sight devoid of life welcomed her.

“The usual, not listening to the warning of the ancients.” Yngvar noted as the two quickly descended the stairs. "Warning?" She asked with a curious look on her faux face.

“The Eye can grant wishes, but it is a power only given to Gods and worse. From what I recollected, this was made by Tryugen the God of Forge that Arridirlun’s family worships. But knowing the nature of time on us mortals, he placed a protection on it. Only one of virtue can wish and only once. Those with ill intent, be it greed or worse be consumed by the light of the Dragon God.” Yngvar recounted the text he had deciphered while the two were on their way to the Nameless Ruins.

“I see. I guess the rest were just collateral sadly.” Elianisstria noted as she spotted a beret partially remaining.

“Yeah.” Yngvar adds with a somber look and tone. “Hey!” Then, as he reached for it, she yelled at him. He ignored her and took it without a problem.

“Next time, please warn me.” She let out a sigh while he was smiling. “You should know, I have no ill intention. So it is fine.”

“I know, but you can never be certain about the validity of old texts.” She stated with a serious tone, worry mixed in her devilish, alluring eyes.

“Okay that is true. I’ll keep this mind for next time. Now let’s leave. It is certain we weren’t the only ones who heard the noises.” He tapped her shoulders, calming her mind, and the two sprinted out, evading the Black Roses rushing towards the vault.

“Ladies.” Yngvar tipped his fedora to the three now awake vordriars inside the Flottirion on the right. "Rmmmnphm nph!" Hallah, the sraudornian, tried to lunge at him. Her eyes and mouth covered in long strips of silver sealing tape that reflected the faint light of the rising sun.

“MMhmrm mmm nrm?” Tyrairith let out a panicked, short muffled moan while her head spun from right to left as she tried to discern where they were. Heikarith remained calm while sitting between the two, her arms like theirs bent behind, tape looped around and crossed in the middle of her wrists and elbows.

“I’ll start the engine.” Elianisstria said after the two embraced each other, their lips locked together for minutes. She disappeared in the front where the navigation room was, like with most magicraft vessels, its space expanded so that at least five grown adults could fit inside it.

“Do not worry ladies. No ill intentions on our side. Just behave and you can walk away free.” He said while sitting down in a chair that just came out from the metallic wall. "At least if you behave. If not, pray to your Goddess to grant you flight." He added, at which the two on the sides gulped. As their Flottirion took off, a group of Black Roses rushed out from the path, RMGs and stave rifles in hand as they opened fire at the magicraft vessel.

Thanks to its protection, the mana bullets bounced off the ward around the vessel, and with great haste, it took off into the distance…
