Chapter 8: 8. Fight back.
"Grey"
I heard Amy's voice once again.
I sighed.
"Keep my food in my dorm I'll get it later".
I spoke.
"O-oh" I heared her flustered voice behind me.
'System screen ' I thought and a huge system of word morphed In front of me.

I had to think.
There are currently two Intruders, one is a female in a black, definitely the weaker one and the other is another in a red robe is the stronger one capable of killing two knights.
Some how I had to do this.
I got into action.
I've got approximately 6 hours till the assassins make their appearance.
"Frist off I need a weapon", I couldn't just ask for a sword from the knights so I choose the only viable option—to take some knives from the kitchen.
I carefully selected the ones with a firm grip and a nice bladed edge, I wasn't even sure this would work on them but what could I do other wise, I'll just chuck this at them and hope for the best.
Some of the maids gazed at me with puzzled expression as I hand picked the knives but I couldn't care less right now.
I cautiously hid the knives in my pants, making sure to avoid a certain area.
It all happened too fast..
Night came, but this time I was ready—I think.
"C'mon Grey there's no room for doubt" I assured myself.
The maids walked out of the mansion looking tired as ever, I shut the door behind them.
'I think any moment now...'
[Energy already absorbed]
'That was faster than expected..'
In my previous lives the assassin took a bit longer to activate the barrier, is it me?, or is it the maids that left later.
I had no time to ponder on the matter as my gaze shot at the counter where the black robed assassin sat comfortably on the counter.
"What is your purpose here?, who sent you guys?" I spoke coldy, my eyes flashing with malicious intent.
The cloacked lady was taken aback for a second, then smiled.
"A slave talking like he has some weight.. hehe.. I can't wait to see that look on your face turned to agony..." she raised her cloaked slightly revealing her bright pink eyes the glistened under the moonlight.
I internally gulped.
'Here goes nothing..'.
"How'd you know I'm not the only one ?" She asked, still maintaining her sinister grin.
"I know a lot of things" I smirked.
"And how to kill you is one of them.." My eyes locked with the figures hand.
'I think..'
If I can't track her movement, I may be able to track the glint of the blade.
Her smile changed and instantly I knew that was my cue.
With a swift movement I pulled the knife from my pants as her figure disappeared.
'My back..' I gritted my teeth.
She was already at my back before I could fully react.
"Arrgghh".
[The player has died]
I looked at the screen.
'return'.
The scene shifts bact to the trophy room.
"96 life points left" I sighed.
'Frist off all, I have to be able to see the assassins movements'
"G ..Grey"
Amy's voice was heard behind me.
"Keep it in my dorm" I turned to her.
She flinched a little and walked out of the room.
"Still can't believe she actually brought that to the trophy room, if the stew so as touch the rugs my life would literally be on the line."
I grabbed the knives from the kitchen a headed outside, frist of all I have to learn hot to properly throw a knife.
I figured I could just ambush her the second she appears by chucking the silver at her and hoping for the best.
I walked through the garden, stoping short of a tree, at least I can learn to throw the knife frist.
I didn't know a thing about dagger, so I just began chucking it one by one at a nearby tree.
Some hit the tree and bounced off, some missed the tree by a wide margin and some didn't even reach the tree.
Time passed and I couldn't even get a single knife to stick to the tree.
"Ahh" I groaned.
Picked up a knife and just threw that thing at the tree.
Thud.
[Knife throwing mastery 0.01%]
My eyes widened as the knife perfectly stuck to the trees base in front of me.
With new found determination I picked up another knife which hit the tree then bounced off one it made contact.
I continued this for hours, until night fell.
[Knife throwing mastery 0.9%]
'What..?' I huffed.
After hours my knife throwing mastery only went up by 0.9.
"This is harder than I thought" I sighed.
The moon loomed above me.
I have to get back to the mansion'.
I walked back passdd the grass field and through the back door as the maid exited.
I stood in front of the door as it shut behind me.
" sigh.."
I placed my hand on the door.
'Wait for it..'.
My heart beat raced.
[This energy has already been absorbed]
'NOW!!'
I turned , my hands moved.
The knives flew out of my pocket towards the counter as a black robed figure sat on it.
The knives traveled towards the figure, but was missed the intruder by a wide margin.
she looked dazed, her lips parted in surprise, the she chuckled.
"He he.. was that supposed to be for me?" She clicked her toungue mockingly.
" I missed on purpose you dimwit" I spoke.
"Huh..?"
"I'm disappointed.. really". I sighed.
"An assassin like you can't even notice raw talent when you see it", I shrugged.
Whoosh"
I turned almost immediately, swinging my kitchen knife in an arc.
The previous encounter I always waited for her to move frist, but this time I was faster.
I caught her dazed expression as she jumped back, the blade missing her by an inch.
"Tch" She steaied herself.
"I guess your not all bark and no bite after all". She smirked.
